I don’t think so. The previous Queen mother only chose that title because she had the same name as the reigning Queen, her daughter. The only way I can see her taking the Queen mum title is if George had married someone named Catherine. I think Kate will choose the title HM Queen Catherine.

Why don’t you get an older, British person to write these scripts? The Queen Mother was named thus because she and her older daughter had the same name, so when George VI died, there were two Queens Elizabeth. The Queen Mother title was added to George VI ‘s widow’s title to distinguish between the two.
"Queen mother" is also a generic term for the mother of a monarch. The video is correct.

She couldn’t be Queen mother, so she had people call her My Lady the King’s Mother. More recently George III’s mother was referred to as the Dowager Princess of Wales even though she was the mother of the monarch.
Queen Mother is the title for the widow of the King who is also the mother of the King’s successor. It was not created for Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and QEII. The term Queen Mother has been used since the 1500s.
The Queen didn't want to be called a dowager she felt she was to young so she chose Queen Mother as her title, I am English and was around when this happened. 😊

If Catherine outlives William after he takes the throne, she would be referred to as HM Queen Catherine (while William was living she’d have been HM The Queen). The Queen Mother title was chosen by QEII’s mother as they both have the same name and it was done that way so people wouldn’t be confused. All other Queens dowager have taken the title Queen first name. When QEII took the throne there were three queens in the UK: Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Mother has nothing to do with having the same name. It's to differentiate between queens because there can't be two simultaneously. Catherine would only become Queen Mother when George married because his wife would be Queen.

Queen Mother was only queen by marriage whereas Queen Elizabeth was queen by birthright, making their ranks entirely different. Queen Mary died ten weeks before QEII's coronation so that's a moot point. Catherine will only be queen as long as she's married and therefore is outranked by all three of her children who have claims by right. Just as in America whenever somebody is talking about a past president, he's referred to as former president so as not to be confused with the current one. The current Queen can always be identified as they’re the one with the style Her Majesty The Queen. The others are Queen first name. That’s how you refer to a former Queen. The current one is THE Queen. For example if Camilla outlives Charles she’ll be Queen Camilla while Catherine would be The Queen but would also be called Queen Catherine. If George is on the throne and his mum is still alive and he has a wife there will be two Queens. Queen Catherine and Queen George’s wife (who will be The Queen). Your example of US presidents is poor. Obama is still called President Obama when people refer to him. It’s only in the media that they say former. One of my friends kept saying that if anything were to happen and Prince George became queen while still under age, Prince Harry would serve as regent rather than the Princess of Wales because "that is how the law stands now". I pointed out that "Yes. That is how the law stands NOW. There is nothing to stop the British Parliament from changing that law".

The Late Queen was 14 when her father ascended the throne and subsequently her and her sister's time with their parents as a family became limited because of his state duties. Charles was only 5 when his mother became queen and her duties took her away from him for long periods. Being monarch demands that the country and state duties come first at all times. I hope Charles lives long enough that William's children reach adulthood before their father has to devote himself to the country.

This is a topic that all of us certainly hope never is to happen, and yet....we cannot be blind to the obvious fact that we all will meet our Maker some day. Prince William and Princess Catherine are so well loved and adored that losing either of them would take many, many years to "get over" - or so some may think. Trust me, those who have lost dearly loved ones n-e-v-e-r "get over it." We can just hope for a lessening of the hurt is all. Time itself can take an edge off, most certainly. I myself thought that Queen Elizabeth was going to live forever ... and she will too - in our hearts! In the meantime, the thought of losing either William or Catherine simply does not register. At all.
This is untrue. The only "Queen Mother" was Queen Elizabeth II's mother, Elizabeth. She was called Elizabeth, the Queen Mother unofficially because her daughter was also Queen Elizabeth and there could not be two queens named Elizabeth at the same time because of the confusion. Unless George marries a woman named Catherine, there will be no need for his mother to become a Queen Mother. She will simply remain Queen Catherine until her death.
