  • Sewing should be fun .... that's what you need to build this table;
    1 worktop about 50 x 100 cm
    4 table legs
    1 wood panel about 30 x 60 cm
    8 angle connector
    screws & bolts with nuts
    about 1,20 m self-adhesive felt

    This video could not have come at a more perfect time. I have a big sewing table upstairs, to big to move and all the family stuff is downstairs. I wanted to add a sewing table in my Livingroom close to fireplace for winter. Sewing cabinets are outrageous. Plus you have to assemble. I happen to have a 6 foot fold out work table. You've inspired me. Thank you lovely lady. Have a great day.

    Nice idea. But it doesn't fit my sewing machine since I have the spool underneath the machine and always have to change colour or the thread and I would have to continuously lift and put back the machine. But the idea is really good I ever buy an industrial one that has the spool above the machine. I learned something and it's cool,thanks

    In India, the sewing machine used to come with its table. Of course, they were with that huge wheel running with the small wheel of the machine with a special leather cord and it was operated with foot pedal plate...e.g. Singer machines. Now with this newer portable design, it is difficult to find the appropriate right table. Putting it away when not need to use takes its toll! WHERE to keep when we want to use it? Really a big dilemma! I liked the idea but don't have all those tools to cut the top and with shoulder problem, it is even more difficult to attach legs to the table etc. Thanks for this wonderful tip, though.

      Hello Deborah,
      on a normal household sewing machine from the front edge about 10 cm for the cut,
      if it is a Over- or coverlock (as they have a little table in front) 7 cm is enough
      I hope this will help you,

      With the knee lever you lift the presser foot, so you have your hands free for the sewing work, it is connected to the machine and is at knee height when you sit in front of the machine

    So we don’t need a drop for a sewing table? All the machines have a drop. What is the purpose of that? They’re all so cheaply made you’re very correct and have bought two different brands which I am returning. Unfortunately I can’t make my own table. I live in the UK so any suggestions will be great. Thank you.

    • @JohnBabyface
      @JohnBabyface  4 роки тому +1

      Depending on the depth of your machine and how low the machine has to go into the table, you have to work out and get the parts at your building market, for my machine I used on each corner 2 brackets of each 5 cm, these must be connected at the appropriate length
