Finally a video showing the transponder!
I saw a ton of videos and you are the only one that explained how to get the chip out... thanks!!
I found out my new used car remote doesn't even have the chip.
Thank you. Our key broke and I purchased that same kit but didn't know there was a sensor that also needed to be removed. Thanks for the tutorial.
You’re welcome. Thank you for the kind comment 👍
Great video--it gave me the knowledge needed to fix my fobs. 👏 👏 👏 👏
Thabknyoubfor including how to get the transponder out!!
You’re welcome 👍😎 Happy to Help.
You are a lifesaver.
There are just some things in life that you want to leave to the professionals. Getting the actual transponder out is a huge pain, and It is very easy to damage it (despite the guy in the video down-playing how difficult it is). If you damage it, you are completely screwed and car isn't going to start.
How do I remove the key blade/actual key?
Yea, that's what i want to know too.
Hey, I have a key for my honda accord but no key fob. If I took the key blade and chip out like this and put it into a fob like that, how would I program the car to respond to the fob? Like, when I press lock and unlock on the fob, is there something I have to do to make sure the car responds to it, or will it just detect the chip or something and do it?
What about getting the key part out of the fab, mine is like fused to it
Right I’m going through this now
Honda screwed the pooch with this key-fob type! I can't even get the darn screw out. Screw head is now rounded out!🤬
How do i get the key blade out of the fob?
Super helpful! Thank you!🎉
So as long as the chip is inside the key it doesn't have to be connected anywhere just put in there?
Except you CUT THE VIDEO of actually getting chip free! The plastic casing needs to be cut to free it. Not just wiggled.
Love your video. Very helpful. I do have a question and I hope you can help me ! I have my key but I DO NOT have the top part that has the lock button or open button . I just have the metal key part . Does the Amazon one include that or is it just the shell ?
Thanks for this video. With this kit there is a trick to not breaking the new kit.
If you have a one piece sleeve the key goes into you then need to SLIDE the entire combo into the new key fob making sure the narrow ends line up. There are grooves in both ends of the part the key slides into. Those grooves align with grooves in the new key fob base. The combo ( key and part you slid it into) must SLIDE into the key fob base.
If you do this the key fob will close relatively easily without needing to be forced. If you have to force it somethings wrong and it will break.
Good luck.
I can't find the chip on my key fob
Some years have the chip in the remote part.
Cannot find a replacement fob without the new uncut key blade molded into its frame for 2013 Honda Odyssey.
Gotcha, consider the one that is molded in And then you should be able to take that to a hardware store to have it cut for very cheap
hi any other why to get that chip out? its really getting hard
Hmm, my 2012 key does not seem to have that chip, or a spot for it. Is this normal?
Neither does my 2009
When did they start using the chip?
I have a 2006 that has it. I'm not sure when they started using the chip.
My 2012 honda key doesn't just pop out the black piece it's in do I break it off
What year was this key fob from? I am replacing a shell for a 2012 accord but i do not see a chip?
These third party cases break a lot easier than the OEM for whatever reason. If only they moved to polycarbonate or nylon, then it would be perfect
Work
You’re welcome. Thanks for the kind comment.
