It's the best laptop this year I'd say, but not without its flaws (the Cherry MX should be on all keys and the charger cable should be a bit longer). Maybe something to help the user to determine when the touchpad ends. I wish there was a 4k 120HZ OLED touchscreen optoin.
I am waiting for the CreatorPro X18 release. It may have a QHD 240hz display option like the Raider 18, along with a non-haptic trackpad, membrane keyboard and a non-gamer chassis aesthetic.
Hey dude as nice as the 4k display on that laptop is there is no variable refresh rate no g-sync no high refresh rate and no multi zone and one zone dimming switch like on the 2024 Asus Strix Scar 18’ so it is a more colour accurate mini LED display for productive work than any other laptop out this year and has 2048 dimming zones so when you have it on multi zone for the Mini LED feature the blooming is only noticeable in extreme scenarios and then you have the one zone switch in Asus software which really makes a difference for productive work and no other brand has this dimming zone switch feature for their mini LED displays.
Is there some other option without the down you mention but having these specs 64 gb ram 24 core cpu , 16gb graphic card and 2 tb ssd with 18 inch qhd screen?? The best gaming laptop in 2024??
I feel ya on that I test laptops as well and I had the gt77 last year the razer 16 blade I ended up with the legion 9 4090 and upped the ram to 6400 mhz and it rips through everything. I do undervolt on all the laptops as well. I'm a sucker for OLED panel but I do love super bright mini led panels and hate blooming. I also had the scar with the 4090 16 one with mini led. That thing really punched hard but hated the numlock on touchpad. I had to disable it in device manager.
I sold it a few months ago. My needs changed and I required portability. But I never ended up falling in love with the trackpad. I just got used to it.
Don’t forget, it’s intended as a desktop replacement. It’s not really practical in that sense when it becomes a laptop. So it’s up to the individual to make that decision on purchase, but there must look into it not only for functionality and software development and what they’re gonna use it for. That includes its future. You just don’t go out and purchase certain item unless you have enough money and you know exactly what you’re going to use this for it’s not for the average person. You don’t need to look at this display on this computer it’s nice to have. But you’re better off connecting to a monitor or a TV4K. Like I said before, it’s up to the individual usage.
I’ve gotten used to it. I’ll cover more in my 30 day review with it. But I still can’t tell where the trackpad begins and ends. It’s really smooth and fluid though and it seems like a bios update may have addressed some of the initial quirks.
Hows the trackpad 2 weeks out? I am looking between a few laptops but the real crazy expensive Lenovo has a tiny tiny trackpad with fake liquid cooling so it comes down to this one vs the MSI raider which looks a bit worst but is alot cheaper and I didn't mind the trackpad on it
I'm starting to really appreciate the trackpad. It feels different but it's also more responsive. I think they need to work on the palm rejection a but though. But way better than the tiny almost unusable trackpad on the legion 9
I hope MSI sees this. Second comment so far saying that. It's a real shame. I can live without it since I have a monitor and TV. But it's a really big bummer. Especially since it's only 120hz.

I too went with the 2024 blade 16 i9/4090/64gb. I have every previous generation of the MSI GT titan line but this titen 18 is a disappointment.. Why are the thermals worst then the 77? Because they took 2 fans away first off. MSI should of had gsync on this model its kind of ridiculous asking for that price and the ram being stuck at 4000MHz. I tested the 2024 Raider GE68HX 14 VIG and on that you are actually able to clock the ram in advanced bios to 5600MHz with 64GB of ram. One last thing to say here is I did a lot of research on this new titan 18 and actually discovered it is using an identical motherboard to the upcoming Raider 18 which I did a write up on reddit about. I am willing to bet the raider 18's all copper heatpipe design will out perform this untested new vapor chamber. The vapor chamber used on the titan 18 was the same one that was used on the non production test models with no changes. I think I will wait until the 5090 drops or could pray MSI will put a 8900m XT if amd makes on for its future.
I love your review & the MSI Titan 18 HX! Thank you! The only downgrade from last year's Titan is the removal of the Mini DisplayPort, which is super important for me personally. Did you by any chance manage to ask MSI why they removed it & whether they plan on bringing it back in future Titans? We lost the port & it was not replaced by a third Thunderbolt 4 port to make up for that. Thank you once again.
On the power brick when you plug it in the back. The actual brick end has another connection.. it’s that connection that you can extend by getting a longer cord probably available from Amazon. doesn’t have to be anything special just to let you know hope this helps. Appreciate the review thanks again. Take care of your friends and family and bye for now.
I have this one and it's great. The 9i is amazing is well. If you want a 16 inch I think the 9i is a great option. As for razer blade. My buddy has the new one and he says the cooling is phenomenal on it compared to last year's so that's great.

@@korober That's a great option. As long as you don't get nothing Asus. Razer has best speakers and build quality and the cooling is so much more improved. Amazing screens too mate. Enjoy!
I was wondering if you are still using this as your main system? And Why if so / not so. Looks like a really nice machine. And I think I have an idea why they aren't using Nvidia Optimus to Gsync. In the past couple Very high end Machines I have bought the Blade 16 with 4090 and Intel 13th gen and Also Asus Strix 17 with 3080 ti both have issues when using multi display and using Optimus Dynamic switch there are noticeable lags when win+tabing (not alt+tab) / animation lag issues. When using Discrete only everything is fine. Also both machines have not so great 1 percent lows. I have a feeling something may be attributed to this. I've seen a few reviews for the Titan 18 which does not haver these features and the 1 percent lows are incredible (Very even GPU timeGraph). Think I will go with Titan on my next machine.
Yeah someone pointed out that Gizmo slip Tech got great 1% lows. I didn't really watch his channel because I don't have time to watch videos that long but he does detailed work. I absolutely loved mine. I still regret seeking it sometimes. But for me the short power cable, uncomfortable on lap and she size made me move on
Question... What the difference between msi Titan 18 HX A14VIG and msi Titan 18 HX A14VHG? I search the specs on the internet and it all looks the same
Damn! I forgot to talk about fan noise. That was on extreme performance, and it's about as loud as any other laptop. But in many situations, playing on balanced is the way to go, and it's much quieter. And silent, it limits the GPU to 90 watts, so in some situations, that would be perfect
There is also Alienware M18 R2 18" laptop with the same power. Only difference is that MSI has 128 GB of RAM wile Alinware has 64 GB. But MSI cost by over $1000 more!
5600 mhz. The 2024 titan can run at that speed with 128gb. The 2023 version is limited to 3600mhz. It was an Intel bottleneck that was resolved this year.
The "fully" maxxed version comes with 192 GB of RAM because it seems Crucial makes a 42GB DDR5 5600. I was hoping you would disassemble the laptop and give us a depth tolerance measurement for the Gen 5 SSD bay, because absolutely no one else has done that, and Gen 5 SSDs run HOT, and so hot, I'm super worried that just because this has a Gen5 SSD slot, it might not be able to actually run a Gen 5 SSD because no room for heatsink, and maybe a case mod will need to happen by cutting heatsink shaped hole on bottom where Gen 5 SSD bay is, and keeping the machine propped up on a top kit laptop cooler like the llano cooler because heatsink alone would even with full heatsink by cutting hole in bottom of case might not even be enough to cool a gen 5 SSD without good airflow by a top kit cooler. Anyway, thx. :)
and I must say advanced optimus causes problems with the Nvidia drivers so its actually better not to have it and deal with restarts.atleast that's the experience I have gotten on laptops with it. G sync on the other hand can introduce flicker on lower fps on heavier titles. So missing those features shouldn't be deal breaker and in some cases deal maker haha
You can use your mouse instead of the trackpad. It’s more convenient. Most people use the mouse anyway just a hint.. I understand where you’re coming from, though
Amazing review and was thinking about it, but that screen. That is really bad for that price. Especially in EU. I am so glad you mentioned it. Thank you for such a video! Legend
I’m not the biggest fan of it. It’s not as sensitive and overall as responsive as a regular trackpad. It became extremely noticeable since I got that blade 18 in recently where that trackpad is near perfect.
Hi, I don't play any First person shooter games, I only play games like FIFA and ETS2, can you please tell me if I need gsync to play those games, or will I be ok with this laptop and no gsync?
I think gsync would have still been very nice to have. But for those games, you may not notice much screen tearing if at all. Also, if you lock the frame rate to 30, 60, or 120 and turn on vsync you should be fine. Gsync works well when fps isn't consistent, like if it's jumping up and down all the time. Those games aren't demanding so you shouldn't have any issues
@@consumertechwarehouse Ok, thanks for the quick response, I really like this laptop and I've been considering purchasing it, but not having Gsync is the only thing holding me back
I like the flatter "professional" look you were referring to, but I still like the design of the Raider GE78HX & so from last yr more. I don't like the new front rgb bar & the red plastic parts on the MSI 18 HX A14V, & I don't like the blue plastic parts & rgb gone from the the front that was replaced with an rgb touch pad. Can we just NOT have a touchpad & save the space for performance components or airflow space (maybe more heat pipes or something) INSTEAD? ? So yh, I would rather buy last years models like the GE Raider 78HX for example & these new ones isn't even a significant/noticeable performance jump cpu wise & we still have the same gpu's.... Hard Pass. 7 outa 10.
No. I sold my desktop 2 years ago. I think at some point, I'll get another desktop and get a smaller laptop when I'm able to leave the house more. Probably in 3 to 4 years.
How is it the most powerful laptop when its missing Essential technologies. Like gsync? I would love to see direct showdown comparison between this and the new razer blade eighteen! Seeing a company copy razers wallpaper and alianwares rgb trackpad is just trying to keep up with the compatition. Is it nice yes. But I don't see any innovation or anything new. Maybe if it came with a free claw or msi controller. That could sweeten the deal. I personally love M s I. But I hate screen tearing. And to have something this nice not function properly could result in a real headache literally
Hey, I've seen a lot of people talking about this online. I really hope MSI takes notice and starts putting G-Sync in all their high-end gaming laptops.
Another thing to take note as it seams like big bulky laptops are really becoming a thing if the past. Here in the beginning of twenty twenty four With external solutuons and new forum factors like tint mode and drawing mode its almost a crime to have a powerful machine that just cant flex like the rest! Imagine everyone with their sleek macbooks and surface studios. And folding screens. And then you pulled this out of your Backpack with all this flashy r g b. You gotta wonder if this laptop gonna get business done or is it just a toy. For a non serious person. There's not gonna get any work done because they're gaiming. Although everything is built around this new eighteen inch display. That innovation didn't come from m s I. But rather display manufacturers. And other companies like razor are also putting out eighteen inch displays But without touch tent and draw mode. It's definitely a gamer oriented themed laptop. And I think the biggest problem is the fact that if I had bought this laptop I would have just assumed that I came With g sync. It's probably just because the display is too new. Doesn't been added to the g sync Compatible devices library yet. So maybe with fingers crossed it will change But until then. I doubt they will put a sticker on the box. That says does not come with g sync.😢
It's like everyone who shows gameplay with these laptops always show cyberpunk, doom, and tomb raider, ....show us Gta online, Uncharted, and Modern Warfare.
I specifically use cyberpunk because it’s one of the few games that pushes both the CPU and GPU. Also I have a lot of historical data from those older games to help with comparisons. Also I only test games with built in benchmarks. I used to test more, but without benchmarks it’s hard to consistently test games. And in my later videos, I started including modern warfare.
The amount of engineering gives in to make such a beautiful machine, but them gimp it with a 4k display and no vrr support. If it had a 2k display and vrr, this would be my new machine this year. As is, Asus get my money again. Why do msi keep gimping there machines like this. Such a waste
Nah, it's not in the benchmarks. But everything feels way more responsive than my GT77. I think it's the faster RAM. Working on the s24 ultra next. Hopefully, I'm not too late. A bunch of reviews are out already.
@@consumertechwarehouse also ram frequencies 3600 mhz is said to be working, Is this the case with you? Is it possible to increase these frequencies from the bios setting?
Damn I didn't cover cooling. It does better. Remember we're getting 270 watts now and they increased the thermal limit has been increased to 99 from 95.
@@consumertechwarehouse You did not cover cooling. Which made me think you were hiding something. I forgot about the extra watts.Any chance you can test at max watts and gt77 250 watts and let us know so we can see the difference.
@MarkWasTaken yeah. That’s what I love about pc. Tons of choices. It’s perfect for me in my stage of life currently. I’m not a student, I won’t be traveling much for a while with 3 young children, and when I use it, I want a big screen since my office is a makeshift guest room.
A downgrade from the body design of the previous model that made it uniquely MSI. This is a legion body type and it's a clean look but at the same time it just looks cheap.
Yeah I agree. This doesn't have any of the MSI design language. But in person it looks really clean and pleasing to look at. There's little MSI touches throughout though. The marketing on this is for both creators and gamers. So maybe they're trying to appeal to both

@@consumertechwarehouse Ok, thanks for the quick response, I really like this laptop and I've been considering purchasing it, but not having Gsync is the only thing holding me back
How much did yours cost as you spec'd it
It was expensive. $5400.
Hard Pass. 7 outa 10.
Hmm you prefer this over the Blade 16 it seems? Why?
They're both different machines. Right now. In the stage of where I am, a desktop replacement suits me more since I don't value portability right now.
You don’t have a PC I guess? Then MSI makes sense yeah
No. I sold my desktop 2 years ago. I think at some point, I'll get another desktop and get a smaller laptop when I'm able to leave the house more. Probably in 3 to 4 years.
will the hinges survive after a year?
I think so... (I'm looking at them now, they seem quite sturdy)
I bought Asus scar 18, for one reason, the support of Asus is way much better where I am
Asus Zephyrus G16 2024 support gsynch, oled 240hz
And poor TGP as well 😢 g16 amazing laptop for light workload, not games
The Hindenburg trackpad
absolutely clean!
thanks buying one now
Great. Hope you like it. If you were interested in buying mine, it’ll be up for sale soon. I need a 16 inch for portability
Looks like new Intel chip is eating up the power budget.
I have an updated video coming out. I updated the bios and make some tweaks on Intel XTU. Very impressed now
$5,333 for a damn laptop
It needs more RGB :D
It's like everyone who shows gameplay with these laptops always show cyberpunk, doom, and tomb raider, ....show us Gta online, Uncharted, and Modern Warfare.
I specifically use cyberpunk because it’s one of the few games that pushes both the CPU and GPU. Also I have a lot of historical data from those older games to help with comparisons. Also I only test games with built in benchmarks. I used to test more, but without benchmarks it’s hard to consistently test games.
And in my later videos, I started including modern warfare.
The World may never know!
Will take me 5-6 months of salary to buy it 😅😂
The amount of engineering gives in to make such a beautiful machine, but them gimp it with a 4k display and no vrr support.
If it had a 2k display and vrr, this would be my new machine this year. As is, Asus get my money again.
Why do msi keep gimping there machines like this. Such a waste
just add in gaming next time
Not much improvement from previous generation 🤔
Nah, it's not in the benchmarks. But everything feels way more responsive than my GT77. I think it's the faster RAM. Working on the s24 ultra next. Hopefully, I'm not too late. A bunch of reviews are out already.
@consumertechwarehouse9381 reviews are out but people like myself are interested in exynos 2400 models vs snapdragon 8gen3.
@@consumertechwarehouse also ram frequencies 3600 mhz is said to be working, Is this the case with you? Is it possible to increase these frequencies from the bios setting?
Gt77 is better for me
What do you like better about the gt77?
@@consumertechwarehouse aesthetics , 16:9 , 144,hz , and better 4k performance ( titan 18 is 4k+ = less performance)
@@consumertechwarehouse estetic is better , 16:9 , 144hz and 4k vs 4k+ only less performance
Really really really really really really really really really really
It cools significantly worse 5hwn the gt77. Not worth it.
Dude u got a lot of money my monthly salary is 6000USD I am so poor 😢😢
Bro that’s really good money. I sell most of the stuff I review or return them. I’m not as rich as it appears.
@@consumertechwarehouse just kidding man i can buy right now
@@consumertechwarehouse just kidding bro i can buy it right away enjoy man
one hundred celsius hahah, cpu bye bye after 1 year
New bios restricted temps to 96. Small decrease in performance more
Bad way to presnte the new product ..poor information
I think it was good
Why is he speaking from his nose 👃?
I don't always. I don't remember but I think I was sick in this video.
No Gsync is a big blow. 👎💩
I agree. Big blunder
cool
Such an ugly laptop 🤢
I like the look a lot. It's nit really photogenic though
@@consumertechwarehouseI’m just not a fan of chunky laptops, I’d never own one 😂
