- Stop motion (also known as stop frame) is an animation technique that physically manipulates an object that appears to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence. Dolls with movable joints or clay figures are often used in stop motion for their ease of repositioning. Stop motion animation using plasticine is called clay animation or "clay-mation". Not all stop motion requires figures or models; many stop motion films can involve using humans, household appliances and other things for comedic effect. Stop motion using objects is sometimes referred to as object animation.

Focus on the movement in real life then, take the reference and apply it to stop motion.

I have one question and that is how do you make your phone steady while filming the stop motion
I put my phone on the tripod and i can see the frame i shot last over-layed on the current one can help me spot a camera bump earlier rather than later.

not to be mean but ill re-type you're comment with grammar "how do you make the toy move by its self" and the answer to that is he takes a picture every second and then its called a stop motion like say if i pose my toy one picture took then i move it like the same pose but not and that is what gives it the affect that its moving by its self
