I suspect it's fine as there's no microtransactions.
Funny thing is there's no real gambling. The contents of chests is tied to the items that you've already picked up.

Fun fact Vampire Survivors is a total rip off of a moblie game called Magic Survival a game that is honestly better but the weird korean dev refuse to port it to steam
For anyone wondering about the chicken, this game is inspired by Castlevania and one of the running gags of that franchise is roast chicken in weird places, usually inside walls. Incidentally the bible and axe are operating pretty much identically to how they operate in Castlevania, the axe has a big arc when thrown and the bible circles around you to deal damage to anything near you. Holy water's not far off either and the whip is the traditional weapon in Castlevania.
The original release of the game straight up used castlevania sprites

I recently got back into this game since I used to play it on Steam until my game broke and crashed constantly. Now I'm playing on Xbox, and I've been having fun, but God damn its just as brutal as I remember.

If you like this game, then you might as well check Holocure, it is about the same type but you can lock the direction you are attacking which gives a better control on the character.

Hundreds of hours and basically all the mechanics have been burned into my head
I was eating spicy food watching this, and the feeling of "aaaaa hot" was completely removed by the truth and entertainment of this video
I started playing this game a while ago, and honestly, it's fun! It envolves no money, and it's satisfying to play through when luck's on your side! The "endings" I found were also rather cathartic, like finding the Yellow Sign, killing the Red Reaper, and defeating the Ender.
Also, this game has an area called The Bone Zone, and I just can't get over that, this is perfection.

It is extremely insane that THIS game founded a new gaming genre that inspired so many unique but also similar games. (Like Brotato, Holocure, Bounty of One, etc., etc.)
i think magic survival actually started the genre like 2 years ago, but vampire survivor's popularity shot it to the fucking moon

As someone who's already been through the ringer with this game and lost countless hours to it, it's just so much fun watching everyone else fall into the exact same addiction I'd only have just finished crawling out of, at the time this video was released

another good thing about vampire survivors is that the unlocks are (mostly) entirely possible to do without guides. And the game got a funny reward for getting all the base game stuff too.

This game gives you good chest when you first start to hook you in it is just a casino
This game is what could be if those stupid pay-to-win mobile games actually made something that wasn't designed with the exclusive content of separating you from your money.
I never saw it as a slot machine, but I did recognize early on that it's got the same bubble wrap, popcorn, Lays potato chip qualities that keep you playing again and again. Killing stuff even comes with a satisfying pop sound.

Wimdy A game I fully recommend is "Have a Nice Death". It takes the rough-like bullshit style of dead cells/ and the deep combat style of hollow knight. I know you love those games and don't find them really fucking annoying

I did buy this game in early access, and i loved the heck out of it (still do) it made me go "one more round" .... i remember the time you needed to know what to match with the counter part for the EVO and now its really starter friendly ♥ Not to forget about the "Your vampire is in another castle" Mario moment :D
But what i think is the best, is that the dev. really talked and listen to the ppl that did buy the game and gave so much work into his game to make it even better, each update was only Positiv and the Price to buy this game is so cheap i felt really bad to only buy it once.

Vampire Survivors is like an enterence level drug. At first I've though it's pretty fun, little game to kill some time, but now I have 200h on clock and thanks to low price of games inspired by it and recent steam sale, games like those are the only thing I play.
Trust me kids, drugs are not fun, stay away from those or your brain will stop processing dopamine without funny noises and flashing lights.
And as of recently they just released the 3rd of 3 banger dlcs that each cost 2 DOLLARS THIS MAN IS GIVING THE CONTENT AWAY, and it’s whole theme on this 3rd outing, an among us cross over. Funny part is it SLAPS AND THE CHARACTERS AND ITEMS FUCKING ROCK

I love these types of mobile games
I swear. I just tried this game from gamepass one sleepless night and now suddenly it's EVERYWHERE.
For those who want something similar but with more engagement and a bit less dopamine-baiting, 20 Minutes Until Dawn has a very similar gameplay loop... but it's a twin-stick shooter, so you have to actually aim your main attack to really get anywhere
You do get some automated minion options scattered about the levelup upgrades, but they generally can't carry your lazy ass as far as your trusty firearm can
There's a bunch of weapons and characters to mix and match too, it's great

I've only got around half a dozen achievements left and I'm still as addicted as I was when I picked it up. About the only criticism I have is the complete lack of explanation for anything but that does have some charm of its own.
Also it's a fantastic game for android if you have a controller, thanks to the Backbone and Gamesir VampS has turned into my favorite on the go game.

You should talk about Golden eggs can make you overpowered especially with laurel because if you get enough cooldown reduction the shield regens in the invincibility frames you get when your shield is getting hit
from what i've seen on steam, deep rock galactic is going to get a spin-off which plays like vampire survivors so you're gonna have to make YET ANOTHER GUIDE FOR THAT YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Ive got to the level in this game where I genuinely can’t use some items Because all the golden eggs I have on my main character Insta crash the game or make it unplayable when they activate (which is always because my cooldowns are so low
goddamnit using gambling but without any microtransactions is fucking genius.
This feels like a game for people who play tons of difficult games and just want to feel rewarded and happy outside of feeling the satisfaction of achievements

When you gain an attack or level one up, it immediately casts. You had 3 King Bibles for a second because one of them was casted before levelled up, and the other two spawned immediately after. Thus, three.
