CLW wanted a locomotive which not only can go fast as WAP5 but can also accelerate as fast like WAP4. So work on WAP7 was started.
I love WAP-5 H, WAP-7 HS and WAG-9 H Electric locomotives.

Bad thing is that India has still not developed traction motors for our locomotives. We are still importing traction motors.

P7 shd b converted to 9000hp and wheel power shd b raised so that it CAN EASILY DO 2mtrs - 3.5 mtrs per min and MAX, so that avg speed of trains can go up from 80kmph to 120KMPH ON INDIAN TRACKS FOR ALL TRAINS
There was a project of upgrading wap 7s to 9000hp.. but now a days the project update is not seen.. probably vande Bharat is the culprit.. because if it is developed, Vande Bharat will get seriously get challenges in terms of acceleration nd top speed...

At 6:00 you say voltage rating of WAP 7 traction motor is same as that of WAP 5.. But earlier in the video you say that voltage rating of WAP 5 is about 2000V and that of WAP 7 is about 1000V..
This is mistake is clear to a viewer with knowledge of motors because you further mention that weight of 850 kW WAP 7 traction motor is more than weight of 1050 kW WAP 5 traction motor..
The lower voltage rated motor will have to use heavier copper conductors than the higher voltage rated motor and hence the 850 kW WAP 7 motor maybe heavier than 1050 kW WAP 5 traction motor..
Where I say that voltage rating of WAP5 motor is 2000v can you provide link

Official site par mention hai so aisa ho ni sakta wo usper kaam na kar rahe ho so hope for best.
