  • Fishing Lake of the Woods out of Kenora, Ontario. There are many deadly techniques to catch a walleye with on this body of water but nothing is more effective nor efficient in my opinion than a drop shot. Watch me catch some fish, rig one up, and give my schpeel on walleye location mid summer in the lake.
    Dropshot set up listed below;
    Berkley Fusion Octopus ( Size 2 )
    sportsheadquar...
    Berkley Maxscent Flat Worm ( 3.6" Brown Back )
    sportsheadquar...
    Drop Shot Weight ( 3/8 Ounce )

    Excellent video, lots of good info and important details, thank you very much.
    I will definitely be trying this. The tough part is setting up direct on top of a decent pod of fish, in the lakes I fish up north in August, they tend to be scattered on large flats or steep drops.
    I'll have to find some shoals like you showed. What is the depth range you programmed (in green for those humps) ? Between 20ft and 30ft?

      I change it quite often depending on time of year and where I’m finding fish but I believe I have it set between 20/30 in this video 👍🏼

    How heavy weight? Thanks for teaching. Much appreciated. Same drop shot work in fall fishing?

      I like a 3/8 ounce but a 1/2 ounce is great as well. Stay away from lighter weights as you want the weight to be pinned to the bottom while you work the bait. Drop shots work great all year long!

    Good stuff! Thanks for the explanation of where you are finding them! What type of line are you using and lb test?

    Drop shot is really a deadly bait for walleye and its European cousin, the Zander (Sandre or pikeperch).
    I have been catching them with success on a float tube with senkos on a drop shot rig

    Tx. Good video. You give your rod so much more action than what I do. I'll have to give it a shot.

    Great video, thanks for the details. One question though, isn’t targeting Walleye after 30 feet going to kill them if you bring them up barotrauma?

      @jensengates5274 Рік тому

      No, because of the way that walleyes are, they don’t do that.

      Came out of 30 feet of water - don’t do so hot in the ol’ well. Keeps them fresh for the fryer though
