Are dropshots legal in Detroit? They’re not allowed in any other river in Michigan? Edit- they are allowed on Great Lakes connected water ways, but not rivers. With boats a connected waterway has to be 2.5 miles wide. Not sure if that’s the same for fishing rules. Seems like it would be. So most rivers connected to a Great Lake are not “connected waterways”. Detroit isn’t 2.5 wide, but maybe has special status with all the international shipping?
@@fatherpetey2866 How would I know that or care? It’s in the 2023 fishing book in a dropshotting section. Someone showed me after I talked about using dropshots in another river.

Awesome video Jon ! Another one of your many alternate ways to catch walleye, thanks for sharing 🎣
Hey Sizzlechest, great to see you built a huge fishing empire. Very happy for all your success.
Get out of the boat and push us off the sandbar!!
Nice. Good job. Looking forward to giving it a try.
Gonna try it...thanks for the schoolin!
Happy to support local! Thank you for the tips
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the awesome video! I'm going to try this tomorrow morning!
awesome vid Jon
Bro is the goat of catching walleye 😎💪🏾🔥🔥🔥 subscribing & following your lead captain!
Nice video. I am surprised you don't need a stinger hook on it though. Each time I jigged the D I needed the stinger.
Great video Jon! I assume since you are fishing the bottom, time of day doesn't matter as much?
Awesomeness thanks for sharing your dialed in to that rig wow!!!!!
Thank you for the info. I will implement this technique.
Another great video thx for the tips!
How deep are you fishing that a 3/8 oz weight can hit bottom in the detroit river current?
Thought drop shot was banned in rivers in Michigan a cpl years ago
im new to this how about a video on how to actually tie the hook on
I’m new to drop shotting, so I’m confused about the bite, do you feel the bite? Or are you watching the line for movement?
what drop shot knot are you using, not a palomar with the tag end back through the eye to the weight
Do you ever use a stinger ? TC
What size and color Bondy worm are you using there? Tried to find it on your site but, couldnt find the exact color you had.
Purple Rain 3.75”
Would this set up with the 3/8ths weight work in the stronger current of StClair river? Or would I have to bump the weight up ?Thanks.
I can’t answer for him, but I believe you adjust your boat speed in order to keep your line vertical.
Can’t go wrong with 5/8s to one ounce weight from 15’to 50’. Three hooks in Michigan waters 😃😃. Nice video Jon. Love your plastics 🎣🎣🐟🐟😃
Nice video! I will have to pick some of your new worms up. Nicely done!
Yes because there is nothing attached to the weight like buoyant plastic is where on a jig so you don’t need as much.
What was the hook knott please?
Are you controlling the drift like jigging or spot locked Jon?
Drifting
