@@Umbral-ez2tl this reminds me of the time I saw Pokémon balloons in someone’s house. It must of been an event so I broke in,looked around and in and in a glass box there was a Zygard cell. There were some team rocket grunts I had to fight off there were even child grunts which I had never seen before. Not only this but there was also many mystery gifts and even a cake. I am not crazy but I think I am the first person with a Zygard.

I'm pretty sure the anime is still running atleast and I think they're still making games, it's just losing it's English popularity which isn't as bad as if it was losing it's Japanese popularity

The lids are in fairly remote places so unless you're going off to less visited places outside the major tourism hotspots you aren't super likely to find 'em.
They're mainly there to kind of lure people to the area as a small tourist attraction in the area because these lids have an associated stamp of the same design nearby, usually in a tourism office, that you can use to press a stamp into a collection book. It kind of acts like a travel log while adding a limited regional collectable that says "I went here".
