How about using the facial rec feature so you don’t have to enter a password. Personally, I preferred the finger-print sensor home button from older iPhones, and I would like to see that back again.
It's safer to use a phone without an unlock code, and the only way to change information is by entering the lengthy account password, which will be unknown to the thieves because people rarely enter that in.
BAD reporting NBC...you don't ever say how a thief gets a phone passcode in the FIRST place, and yet say that making more complicated/longer passcodes are a solution...WHY can't the thief get the longer passcode the same way that they are getting the shorter one?! It is hard to say SINCE YOU DONT EXPLAIN HOW THEY GET IT IN THE FIRST PLACE AND WHY LONGER WOULD BE DIFFERENT!

2:47 this is not exactly correct, you can only have a single four digit code, it locks everything under screen time. To prevent someone from accessing and changing your account when your device is unlocked (or even when they know your device password) Enable "screen Time" with a passcode. **keep this in a save place at home** Go into "Screen Time" / "Content & Privacy Restrictions and disable" and change the permissions to "Don’t Allow" for the following two categories: Passcode Changes -> "Don’t Allow" Account Changes -> "Don’t Allow"
Do you really expect Apple users to be smart enough to do that? They most likely bought an iPhone to avoid tech savviness and computer literacy skills.
Apple can't restore the account because they don't store description keys on their servers which is a great privacy measure as compared to Android open gate policy....
I'm smart shopper. I do tons of research on an actual computer before buying anything, so there has never been a need to store payment information on a phone. I'm still not sure why some people have the obsession to store payment information on a phone, unless they are shopaholics and cannot resist impulse purchases.
Someone stole my Motorola Razr phone 2 days after I got it, but the good news is all they were able to do was download $50 of ringtones 😂 It’s scary to think about what can be accessed via a stolen phone today. Phones can easily be car keys, house/hotel keys, control alarm systems, and lots more.

Apple Support also can't help you get your data back when it's enabled.

It wasn't mentioned in this report, but the reason this whole operation works is because thieves see you inputting your password beforehand, so they don't have to crack anything. This is why it's advised that you instead use facial recognition to unlock your phone when out in public or fingerprint ID for the older phones.
@@GarretGrayCamera well no technology company can protect against that. That would be like leaving your car running, unlocked and walking away. There is personal responsibility that people need to take
