A music teacher showed my class this last year. Everyone hated it except me. This is brilliant. Bass, vocals, drums. I'm in love with it and i keep coming back to Dirty Loops. Love their stuff!
Leave that class immediately..sounds like you slipped into the asylum of dipsticks if they hated it..man they dont deserve being in a music class of that's their response. Dirty loops blow me away every single time..just stunning playing and arrangements..pure joy
omg that hated it?! how! they clearly dont have a good taste in music! you're awesome, forget them. it's just like my class they don't know what actual music is
Im in a cafe at 4am and this song just played, I was like wtf is this? Why does it sound so good? I had to Shazam it instantly and damn this cover is so insane
I think it's amazing how they use the same key as the original song and just change it up. All of the songs. The singer has an amazing range, the bassist keeps the music together, and the drummer keeps the rhythm going. Couldn't think of a better trio. I've only heard of this band recently (a few weeks ago), and I just thought it was amazing what they do. I hope I could some day see them live. That would be amazing.
Please excuse my language, but HOLY SHIT. That bassist is one talented dude. He can keep it together - even without any kind of fancy things on bass, I can tell that he's experienced by the way that he carries the song. Awesome!
The awesome thing about their style of music is that it has such depth that it never gets boring, you can listen to the song over and over without getting tired of it. I'd feel like this song, while not as accessible and presentable as the original, will last so much longer while not becoming torture to your ears after awhile of the same simplistic sequences and melodies. Because of this diversity, this music is really timeless to put it simply, because it doesnt get old.
This song and this band literally cured my 5 year depression , disassociation mental block and helped me find myself and love for life again. I LOVE Dirty Loops !!!!! More more more more you guys are THE most talented and best band I’ve EVER seen… love you so so much so so so much THANK YOU 🙏 ❤
It's what happens when the best musicians at the University form a band. I don't know how they met. But thank God. I can't listen to traditional Jazz anymore but this is fresh. It's also old school Spyrogyra with out the sax, it's Gospel because those choirs have some amazing musicians and chord progressions. It's '80s, back when music was a lot deeper. It's Toto. Thank you guys. Show us the way back to music.
They are not brothers. I believe 2 of them went to elementary school together, cannot remember. A classical choir kind of school. The same one i went to, i know at least one of them did. Maybe even all three. What i know for a fact is that they met at the high school "Södra Latin" in Stockholm. I studied bass there and had the same teacher as Henrik hehee. They've praised this man alot and have said that he basically made them, more or less. Esp henrik, being a bass teacher. Henrik still visits Södra from time to time to have clinics with the bass students. Then they went the royal university of music or how you would translate it. It was there they started jammin' together for real and practicing grooves over and over. I have a video uploaded on my channel with a long interview if youre interested. It's in Swedish though so for your non swedish speakers it will not be very interesting.
iggygeeproductions umm no. 80's was the 2nd worst decade of music of my lifetime. bubblegum pop dominated. guessing you arent old enough to remember. (btw the worst decade of music? the present one)
Who's still listening in 2023? I still remember the time when me and my band mates first time heard this in the studio, we were speechless.... Until today hahaha superb ❤❤❤
JoeRoon I know it's not live what you hear but the fact is he's still sung that and they've still played that. Acts of this calibre should be celebrated more. Would be nice if their material did crossover more genre-wise sometimes to mix it up and bring more international attention.
Not only is this world class playing from each of you, the arrangement/reharmonization is incredible. From terrible pop tune to terrific fusion cover. I can't applaud enough!
I think my favorite thing about Dirty Loops is just how much fun they're having while playing. You can see them smiling and cracking up the entire time!
You wanna know what's crazy, I've never listened to Britney's version even once. The only reason I know this song exists is because Dirty Loops covered it, hahaha.
lester barquero I'm being serious. I don't listen to pop music much at all, so the last song by Britney Spears I remember was Toxic. I'm not knocking it, in fact I think it's cool she came through all her problems and is still making music. It just really ain't my style.
lester barquero I'm not gonna rule out that I may have heard it walking through a store, or at a restaurant, but it never caused me to look for it, or listen to it any further if I did.
Ten years later and it is still a masterpiece. In order to truely appriciate the song you have to be a musician in my opinion. The song is played in such a komplex way while beeing tight as f*ck... Stunning
I've just discovered this, couple of days ago. Since then I've been listening to this over and over again. It's a blast, they are a blast, especially Linder. Honestly said, their best tune ever, also given that the original tune "has" something already. The bridge and the melody are catchy and more complex then you would expect from a Spears' song. Dirty Loops made it better of course, and kind of enhanced to the maximum potential what was already there, but hidden by the commercial pop habit.
The boys have come so far. I'm extremely fortunate to have been around when they were doing this stuff. Extremely inspiring to listen to Turbo knowing where Dirty Loops was 10 years ago. You guys are only getting better
Esta es una de las canciones mas matizadas y bien compuestas que he escuchado. Los puentes, silencios sincopados, acentos y melodías junto a la voz tipo Steve Wonder de este sujeto para la hacer la mejor de Dirty Loops .
Listening back after all this time, this track actually impresses me a lot more than it did back then, those vocals are fucking nuts... I mean everything about this track is nuts, but this singer... is just fucking unreal! Man these guys were on fire...
This is just so good. They took what is a horrible but kind of catchy song and made it into something fresh and awesome. They’re all so good at what they do and you can see they’re having fun. I love it.
As a bass player myself, the drummer's pocket and the keyboardist's comping here are exactly the type of playing I hope for when I play in a trio. Love the soulful singing too, and the arrangements are muah!
Those opening chord changes and the chorus..that solo.....wow. I have listened to this for years. I thought your group was called Dedeu alves. That's where I saw you guys years ago ... I could never find you ...
Granted, when a person's opinion is in the 0.021 percentile, you can take it for granted theirs is a fringe opinion. BUT... I'm really curious what the hell the 450 people were smoking who gave a thumbs down on this. Immaculate, virtuoso playing, impeccable interpretation, phenomenal timing, a ridiculously swinging hot groove, and you can hear and understand what all three of them are doing. It simply doesn't get any better. Period.
Thats exactly how i found this cover too.. Shame Marta is no longer on youtube, she had some really great bass covers.. been a fan of Dirty Loops ever since! Thanks Marta wherever you are!
Eu nunca vou me cansar de escutar essa versão Dirty Loops, eu choro escutando, emociona, é uma obra de arte... Que bom que vivi pra escutar essa música atemporal
Oh man oh man oh man ohmanohmanohman!!!! These guys are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! If I could make music like them, I'd be smiling, too, like they smile in their videos.
The chord progression in the verses, it's basically the same as in World On Fire's chorus. A few changes here and there. Also, near the end of that song, they re-use a riff from Over The Horizon 2016 😆
Yes, they totally learned the pop song genre and are now writing as well as any pop composer, and then crank it up to the highest level of skill and complexity.
11 years later, this is still one hell of a banger.
A music teacher showed my class this last year. Everyone hated it except me. This is brilliant. Bass, vocals, drums. I'm in love with it and i keep coming back to Dirty Loops. Love their stuff!

Props to that teacher.
omg that hated it?! how! they clearly dont have a good taste in music! you're awesome, forget them. it's just like my class they don't know what actual music is
the people who hated it aren't going to graduate. They're not musicians.
@@gitcat8160 Ignorant comments all around. I can understand full well why people don't like this.
Holy crap.. 10 years listening to this and get better time after time! Bravo!
same.
Agreed
+1
This is the best musical arrangement I've heard in the decades. Been hearing it over and over again endlessly. Can't get enough.
Im in a cafe at 4am and this song just played, I was like wtf is this? Why does it sound so good?
I had to Shazam it instantly and damn this cover is so insane
Welcome brother.
I laughed so loud. What a community
I think it's amazing how they use the same key as the original song and just change it up. All of the songs. ChelseaLynn961 my dad has seen them live, sadly i haven't. thier extraordinary. they sound the exact same as they do here

Please excuse my language, but HOLY SHIT. That bassist is one talented dude. He can keep it together - even without any kind of fancy things on bass, I can tell that he's experienced by the way that he carries the song. Awesome!

Carries was a well chosen word 😎👍

God those bass lines are delicious.
exactly!!!
He's such a genius! I hope I could reach at least half of his skills with my bass one day!
The bass face tho
I'm accord with you . 👌👌
Henrik is a fucking genius ! can't get enough of his groovy licks !!!

Thanks for posting this wonderful performance! Greetings from Germany.
This is just so good. They took what is a horrible but kind of catchy song and made it into something fresh and awesome. They’re all so good at what they do and you can see they’re having fun. I love it.
Beyond stunning and awesome, just beautiful soul with serious serious musicians who are so gifted. God’s band.

My guitar teacher played this video last week and now I'm obsessed
I had never heard the original version of this song and just went and looked it up. It's amazing what the Dirty Loops turned it into. Magnificent!
Saw them live at namm 2015, holy crap they amazing
まじかっこよすぎる
Effortless greatness always turns me on. AND musical taste, on top of the massive chops. I'll keep wearing out the replay button. Album, please, ASAP.
This is one of those songs that you just keep hitting replay over and over again! Amazing! Best part is when they go half time at about 3:00!
Those opening chord changes and the chorus..that solo.....wow. I have listened to this for years. I thought your group was called Dedeu alves. That's where I saw you guys years ago ... I could never find you ...
😉🤣
Ideally, all professional, all of you the best of all

Thank you Marta for bringing me here years ago with your incredible Bass cover. She may be gone from UA-cam but Dirty Loops remains!😎
Thats exactly how i found this cover too.. Shame Marta is no longer on youtube, she had some really great bass covers.. been a fan of Dirty Loops ever since! Thanks Marta wherever you are!

You guys restored my faith in the future of music in today's conveyor belt cookie cutter world. Can't stop listening!!!
+eristavimusic Snarky Puppy. Thats all i have to say.
+Lorenzo Rizzardi Damn effing right.
Lorenzo Rizzardi lol get him hip!
The problem is that record label executives don't share your thinking...
Those basslines are amazing, but this one (1:28) is just perfect.
These guys are always a jam
Gorgeous cover. Simply lovely!!!!!
I don't know if I am the only one who says that "World On Fire" by them has an air of this cover! Bass lines and some progressions.
