@@woshua3143 lmao bad take. I didn’t say anything bad, I love Johnny marr and the smiths, but I’m just being honest that in this video itself, he’s just playing chords, don’t get defensive about it
@@karebushmarebu233a good strumming is quite hardest to achieve than good soloing. Playing chords correctly respecting the right strumming pattern being in time it is hard
The brilliance of a song is not how hard it is to play. Everyone can play a song with enough practice. It's coming up with it, with the song, the riff or whatever, that matters and no one can beat JM when it comes to that.
that's exactly the main point with Johnny Marr: you perfectly get it! However some of his leaks are only apparently "easy" to play, some are a real mess, expecially at full speed. One example: some girls are bigger than other
@@amancu1963 Yeah, absolutely, he moves his fingers like he's got 4 hands, he's incredible. I didn't mean to imply his songs were easy, far from it in many cases, but what I truly love about him is that he always plays for the song and not to show off. When somebody says "oh that song is not that hard to play" because he's not shredding like a heavy metal guitar player I just think to myself "I couldn't care less, just give me a melody like his, make it simple or complicated but give me that" because if the melody is rubbish I just don't care how fast you can move your fingers up the fretboard, that's irrelevant to the listener.
@@mmmanutd that's it, bigmouths strumming isn't too hard. but with most smiths songs the hardest thing is the rhythm. you can learn it, know all the chords and notes... but can you play it perfectly to speed?
Marr FFs. That strumming pattern drives me bonkers. I never get it right. Might go the barbers and get me a Manchester helmet, see if that helps. The little riff in the bridge in the middle if this song is my all time favourite, only a few seconds long but made me want to play guitar when I was a teenager.
Thing to keep in mind are: 1. keeping the pick between your index and thumb (not with thumb and two fingers) 2. dont strum more strings than necesary as this takes up travel time 3. you could also pick-edge (tilt your pick 45 degrees to allow it the plectrum to move easier!)
god created all men equal. Marr is the exception that proves the rule. I like it when anyone plays these chords but I like it best when Marr plays them.
Fastest guitar lesson ever
and 100% more useful than these 50 min tutorials
mtsn why is it more useful?

BIGMOUTH LARALALARAAAAAA
I am always mesmerized by the fact that how his left hand moves just so mechanically without even slight blemishes
He’s just playing chords here, nearly any guitarist could play this without blemishes (if they practice enough)
@@karebushmarebu233 respectfully, don’t be that guy, start talking once you hit the charts.

Its amazing how a capo can transform a simple chord progression!
Bleh
@@karebushmarebu233 your mum

You’re welcome.
you. skipped the first strumming down
In terms of musical treasures per second, that must be the most useful video on UA-cam.
simple.. but so damn effective
Simple? That strumming is fucking imposible

he always looks at the camera with a look that says "yeah, i know im awesome"
..and he has the right to.
Sometimes it doesn’t take much time to learn a song!
PS: thanks Johnny, it helped me a lot!
He makes it look so easy. That song is effin hard to play

Yeah for the life of me I can’t strum that fast without tensing up and losing control of the pick

I think there is some problem with the audio, what format did you upload this in? only when I pressed play my hearing aid started to melt.
Funny you should say that, exactly the same thing happened to my Walkman.
THE BEST 7 SECONDS OF OUR LIFE!

Am- C- G(same C shape but 2 frets up)- Am- F- G

Straight to the point.
Am, C, then keep the C shape move it up 2 frets, then back to Am, then F then G
Well...I just came
@Citrohan Unfortunately that's all they show even in the documentary, but I agree it was waaay too short!
15 more views and I'll have spackled my entire ceiling.
MORE!!!!!!! 7 seconds in not enough!!!!!
Though he's using his D-35 here, Bigmouth was originally recorded with a D-28. ; )
i always thought it was a 12 string on that recording. was it a d-28 12 string model?
sweetness!
@MusicTeacherGuy Google: BBC iPlayer - When Rock Goes Acoustic. Not sure if it'll play in the States though.
I think i got it . Thanks
Martin D-35. Lovely. I never knew he played one until seeing this. Must go home and try on my D-28;-)
and now i know how Brienne of Tarth felt :P

Oh you prick tease.
Where's the full version?
Agreed!!
Sweetness !!! >,< !!!

@Citrohan That's what she said!
Wait! I think Johnny's trying to communicate!
Thiis is a fantástic guitarr Men.

@MusicTeacherGuy The Marr component begins just after 51 minutes.
1st time I ever heard the song I automatically thought of Heart's "Crazy on You". Oh well, we all get inspiration somewhere I guess.
Yeah, I play it without capo though sound and consistence changes
Right! Where's the whole interview?
And I was like 😳
What does a bloke in the States (me) have to do to get a hold of this full programme?
@BroWhatever haha, my thoughts exactly! :D
it looks like he takes his ring finger off the second c shape right before the second Am too
Best rock rhythm guitarists of all time? Marr, Townshend, Hetfield. Fight me?

Love the Killers
Oh, fuck! I'm still trying it!
Even at 3/4 the speed it is faster than most songs (easier to learn)
Marr is God.

can you play it without the capo?
that's what she said...
Not just your Walkman?
it looks so easy ...
Wait.. what?
Great song but I also know it's longer than 7 seconds
Peace ✌️ out people

@BLastyboW looks like a D28 or summat
Sweetness, Sweetness I was only joking when I said......... :)
It's ok I found my capo.

I didn't know he used a slide on this song.
It's a capo! To match morrissey's vocal range Johnny often used a capo at the 4th fret :)
@@TheSpanielXD no he does use a slide in the song later on but your right that is a capo

It would be hard tho since u would have to bar it instead.
That wa.....
clearly a song about Morrissey himself
riff like.........
Where would he be without a capo
It isn’t that complicated
SWETNESS, I WAS ONLY JOKING....
do you really need someone to show you Am, C, D
lmao wheres d
This video is too long - boring!!!
Is he using a plectrum?

Effortless
I'm annoyed by his wonky capo.
And just to correct Americans. It's pronounced Cap-o. Not Cay-po. You fruit loops.
I really don't like long videos like this, can they be made shorter please?
