Many fescues don't do much the first year. Clover is Candy!! Interesting to see crimson in pasture, it's a bitter plant that cattle usually don't want to eat. Red Clover they love, in pasture, as dry hay, as haylage or silage. Thanks for the video!! Reminded me, as soon as I get fertilizer, I need to dig out some old sacks of seed to dump in with it! Have one pasture that has been replanted a half dozen times in 50 years.. Stupid annuals always take over.
Gosselin Farms Ed Gosselin yeah, the clover has definitely outperformed the fescue from the mix we showed last year so far. Stockers seem to be taking to the crimson pretty well. Right now, they have more grass than they know what to do with. We’re up to 38 head, as we added 22 more last week, but we’d like to be around 65-70
@@HurricaneCreekFarms good to see they're eating the crimson! When I used to haul silage, some red fields would have a little crimson in them. If there was too much crimson, it got chopped back on the ground.
