    I'm glad I watched that! I know what I will be doing in about two months. I have about 3 acres I keep mowed around the house that has needed some attention for a while! I may go over it with my thousand lb roller once the seed is down. Then I will have to cut grass every three days next summer! :o(

  • @johnnyholland8765
    @johnnyholland8765 4 роки тому

    We used to do the same with a 6 foot harrow with the disc set straight. Ran lightly it had notched disc to they made little pot holes sort of. We spread with a pull type fert spreader borrowed from our local co-op then pulled a drag made of chain length fence wire. Worked for us in a pinch. Chris..... have you ever thought of the "company" buying a lift type no till drill? Great Plains and Haybuster make good ones. You could use it as a business expense and use it on the farm. Just a thought.........

    I know this is an older video but I think you ought to put a center hydraulic cylinder on that I have a similar tractor I think yours is an m class mines and L class I know yours is in a Kubota what's a spin-off of it but regardless if you have any hydraulic outputs in the back I put a cylinder on that the other day I was watching you use the Box plate with that you just set your grading X or the forks just high enough that when your box blading or scraping in the back you just tilt it back do your scrape and then you can leaning forward and brings in them Forks just a thought

    In spite of yourself you actually went about the seeding in the right manner. Busting up the cow piles and existing grasses has kept you from having naked spots. Dragging is a very good idea as your germination rate will improve when the seed is fully surrounded by soil. You'll be a gentleman farmer in no time at this rate.

    You made grooves wit the rake, tilled in any metal muffins, Then your master plan was to seed and feed the pasture. turkeys followed you for a meal and will leave fertilizer. Cover it tommorow with the yanmar tracks and prevent other birds from eating. :) Cool video. The candy place had clove hard candy drops this week (hand made). Sounds just like the Saurkraut and kimchee farmer. they grow cabbage, harvest it, make kimchee and such, and then the pig farmer brings the pigs to come and eat the clippings and turn the soil (and Fertilize) before replanting. :) If you have cow manure and a spreader now would be the time 1/4".

    You need a hydraulic top link on your 3 point hitch, Agri Supply has them in Garner. They are awesome. The other ultra cool upgrade is the SpeeCo Quick Hitch. The only catch with them is you need implements that are meant for them or you need to modify your implements to fit it. I modified mine so far to fit mine and I really like the combination on the hydraulic top link and the quick hitch. No more wrestling and kicking and screwing. Oh, and Agri also has the quick hitch.

After an hour I was rotovating rather than mowing. Was wondering why it was taking more throttle to keep the PTO RPMs right. Lawn looked a bit sad for a few weeks, it has to be said.
