Rimuru's subordinates constantly improve as long as Rimuru does too. Part of the strength of Rimuru and some skills are usable by some of them, such as Soui and the threads, Benimaru and the flames or Ranga and Black Lightning. Although they can improve by themselves and use them in their own way.
To expand more on this. Gobuta's Shadow step is a Tempest Wolf skill, him learning it, is one of the benefits of being Rimuru's subordinate that even Rimuru didn't know was possible at first. In hindsight they all share the collective skills of all species under Rimuru if they chose to do so, they could use any of it(Except Unique skill like Rimuru's Great sage and Predator. ).
Cap Tin yeah and also like how in the first and second episode Rimuru learns most of his skills in the cave on his own (well besides the magic sense and the skills he absorbed with predator) which are the water skills. So they can also learn skills independently.
To be more specific. Romulus is a jack of all trades and can do almost everything. But his subordinates when they decided to follow him and he gave them a name. Rimuru’s excessive skills were honed and refined through their evolution process. His subordinates have specified the uses of many of Rimuru’s skills.

He actually can't do it in rapid succession like they showed in the episode. In the LN, I believe he only did that a maximum of six times total throughout the battle (which lasted about 2 hours) with the last one being much smaller than the others.

Gabiru's not that bad as a leader. Yeah, he can be an idiot sometimes, but his main weakness in this fight is his ignorance on the abilities and nature of the Orc Lord; his strategies and tactics aren't necessarily flawed, it's just the wrong tactic for this specific enemy. Also note, that even though he mentions that had they not needed to protect the goblin forces they'd brought, they'd have stood a decent chance of breaking through the encirclement and regrouping, he never even considers leaving them behind to die in order to do so. Also, he challenged that General one-on-one, knowing none of his forces would be able to help him, and that of everyone, he was the only one with any chance of winning; even when they wanted to step in to help him, he forced them back, rather than allow them to throw away their lives. Yeah, he can be an idiot at times (actually, a lot of times) and he's certainly not one of my more favorite characters, but you can't deny he can be a very effective leader; he just needs time to grow.

If you didn't realize it Gobuta actually countered the Orc Generals attack and push him back with just one hit, meaning that Gobuta is ever stronger and obviously faster than the Orc General.

Just noticed, that the fire from the kijin evolved from normal fire to black fire, just like Rimuru´s or something very similar. And then noticed the horns on ranga crackling with black lightning. Everyone that gets the Tempest name to them (or being named by Rimuru) kinda evolve with some kind of power similar to one of Rimuru's, maybe mixing it. I don't know. But it consistently shows the magic of those named by Rimuru somewhat similar in color to his. Or maybe it started when he predated on Ranga's dad.

You will love Emma's good nature; Normans caring and intelligence; and Rays denpendable nature (he is more of a cold calculator to normans benevolent outlook). Those 3 are great MC's. I love how Scary intelligent the 3 are (superior or greater intellects). I love how they tackle each issue and when Emma lays her foot down on specific situations saying they will happen this way... intending things to work out for her family of 39+ others for the best of each and all. For such a dark circumstance of story Emma always has the most heart. Norman has a couple of great character developement bits. Ray has a couple great secrets and being the quiet one you know he would have some. Krone and Isabelle are great antagonists, that are not enemies, because at least in my case them being humans with obviously messed up backstories visible before being revealed (no one has there perspective and intentions with out having hard lives). You should be as surprised as I was by the twist in the first episode. Be warned the story only gets better the further the story goes forward.

I think after getting named monsters basically become "Hero characters" so they gain exp from fights & evolve on their own. When you think about it that Death Storm had to take out a Ton of Orcs giving Ranga a lot of Exp from 1 attack

well, the fact is souei can't use shadow step. His got extra skill after being named by rimuru. the extra skill name is spatial travel that makes rimuru envy
that ogre/kijin female named shion, her big sword looked like inuyashas sword tessaiga and her attack hit the orcs kinda like the ability wind scar from the sword.
You can evolve as long as you are already named... same with the Orc Lord, he didn't just turn from Regular Orc to Orc Lord Instantly... i think it has stages and final evolution and stuff
I feel like Gobta could be a future general maybe, but I don’t see him as being the leader himself. That would probably be Rigurd’s son, Rigur, since he’s also a capable fighter but is smart about his decisions as well (from what I gather) I think that Gobta quite likes to fight and would rather be on the battlefield than stay in the village to defend. (I could also be completely wrong, and it’s actually the opposite, but who knows? 😅🤷♀️)

I think after getting named monsters basically become "Hero characters" so they gain exp from fights & evolve on their own. When you think about it that Death Storm had to take out a Ton of Orcs giving Ranga a lot of Exp from 1 attack
The amount of power a named monster gets is dependent on the power of the being giving them the name, a normal person isn't giving much of a power up.

Ranga live in Rimuru shadow all this time and end up absorb a lot more of Rimuru leaking mana
also include the fact that Rimuru show him a Tempest star wolf form and told him to work hard

well, the fact is souei can't use shadow step. His got extra skill after being named by rimuru. the extra skill name is spatial travel that makes rimuru envy
that ogre/kijin female named shion, her big sword looked like inuyashas sword tessaiga and her attack hit the orcs kinda like the ability wind scar from the sword.

You can evolve as long as you are already named... same with the Orc Lord, he didn't just turn from Regular Orc to Orc Lord Instantly... i think it has stages and final evolution and stuff

I feel like Gobta could be a future general maybe, but I don’t see him as being the leader himself. That would probably be Rigurd’s son, Rigur, since he’s also a capable fighter but is smart about his decisions as well (from what I gather)
I think that Gobta quite likes to fight and would rather be on the battlefield than stay in the village to defend.
(I could also be completely wrong, and it’s actually the opposite, but who knows? 😅🤷♀️)

@@makishimashogo2164 actually gobta IS a gifted person, he doesn't have anything special at all it's just he is intelligent in his own way, he will never acquire a ultimate skill like ranga, benimaru,etc(which they will acquire in season 2)
