Mate I've had two bikes stolen in London. One was my S1000RR which had a tracker fitted along with Almax chains. I now have a hidden engine kill switch installed. This will at least stop them bypassing BMW's security ignition system which is clearly not very good given the CCTV cameras caught them riding it away.
BaronVonGrumble I always thought the speed limit was 10% +3mph. Like 36 in a 30 was your maximum, or 58 in a 50. I'm sure you don't need the maths lesson though. Watched your videos for ages mate, keep it up. (the videos that is) 😉
Petition to organize a bait bike operation and get a couple cops to head it. If bikes get stolen so often, they'll catch them this way in no time. Get the word out for riders around london to donate some cash to pay for the bait bikes and equipment. Then you do half the work, and all that would be required at that point would be for the police to do their damn job.
So I see a new series, BarronTheVigilante - sets up bikes waiting for them to get nicked, then comes out a swinging taking down crooks 1 kneecap at a time.
There is no money to be made for the state in genuine crime but shit loads in doing you for 23mph in the new 20mph zones etc and when the police say they haven't got the resources for reviewing CCTV for theft etc, they will always have the resources when there is easy revenue to be extracted from public they are now excepting and processing video from the general public to fine people for traffic offences, remember all their directives come from government. Did you know the police and courts are a registered business? and the most important part is that crime actually works for the state because it gives them the justification to legislate new 'laws' that of course will only really effect the law abiding citizen, a justification of control and control is what its all about.
It’s the same with fucking parking tickets, oooo you were sat here for a minute too long... but no one does shit if the bikes nicked when you’re parked legally 👍👍
Same thing in Denmark. Yesterday 5 scums tried to hijack my KTM while I was on it. 10 seconds later two police cars stopped me and said not to drive two on a motorcycle since gangs does the shootings like that "here". I told them that few hundred meters just now I almost lost the bike. They did nothing, refused to even drive for 5 seconds. So police bother and stop honest people while letting scumbags do whatever they like...
Had my mk 3 golf GTi parked outside a friend's house on a main road in Manchester once. Just came back from a long drive and forgot to take my sat nav out of the car. No more than 5 mins passes and I hear the window go through, I run outside to see some scroat running down the road with my sat nav. I start the car n chase the cunt, seen him turn left so I take the left turn and he's gone, I jump out and go into the back garden of the first house on the street to look for him, no joy. As I'm walking out the back the little prick comes out the front door and walks into the back garden with my sat nav in hand. He got what he deserved and I got my sat nav. The stupid bastard lived 2 doors away from my friend's house and it was his brothers garden he ran into when running off with my property. I seen a brand new Samsung phone on somebody's garden step once with nobody around to stop me picking it up and walking off with it but that didn't even enter my mind, I knocked on the front door and gave the phone to the girl that lived their. The point is that some people are just scum with no morals.
George Jordan That happened in Toronto. Which ofcourse is another magnet for bike thefts. I don't know anybody that lives in a condo in downtown Toronto that HASN'T had their bike stolen or fucked with.
All they have to do is assign a few cops/detectives to work with some bait bikes and in a few months they'll stop this crime ring and find the warehouses where they take the bikes. Boom. Isn't that a proper solution? Why the fuck don't they do that?
carnafillian113 they do exactly that, but the police are so under funded and staffed that they simply can't keep up with the volume of thefts in London alone
i know of two boys who steal mopeds and its not done by crime rings. it done by young kids looking for an adrenaline rush. im not too good with bikes but i believe it was a PCX or something like that and he was selling it for £50. the kids are selling it so cheap that they are literally just disposable bikes for thieves to commit crimes on and get away with it
carnafillian113 there is over 8.5 million people in London, and 31 thousand police officers. Bike theft and bike enabled crime is a huge issue that would take more than just a few officers. There needs to be more secure parking with better security measures, more powers for police and more support for them so that they can go after offenders and bike owners also need to be more sensible. So many bikes that get nicked are left without any disc or chain lock at all. Trackers are also a great idea but few seem to use them. They should be standard on higher end bikes. Manufacturers should be building more security features into the bikes.
Cerebral Method why aren't all drugs dealers caught when trying to sell... it's impossible to stop it. From what I've been told they normally only sell to mates or mates of mates.
Baron you are awesome! Thank you for your intelligence and humor. Your "vlogs" are a breath of fresh air and a welcome break from the other motorcycle videos I've been trudging through on youtube
Alf Torp It does make sense, nudity arouses mind sexually right? Police cant look after your bike all day long they have a budget. Bikes are just more vulnerable due to their mobility. Why still a Telephone when there is a mobile phone? Nonetheless law enforcers need impose great charges on motor-vehicle theft. And why DAFUQ will still don't have a bike sound alarm?
Alf Torp cover up that BMW too, its too sexy for the mean streets of London! I totally agree with you. Really though, women can walk around in underwear and you can leave your keys in your bike to take. You are not the one committing a crime, those scumbags are. The Police message should be to the criminals saying they will cut your wanker off if you steal a bike or a woman!
You have those special legg protection pants that contain like 1 million small nylon wires that when you accidently hit your legg with a chainsaw it wil clog up the chain. Maybe somebody should make some sort of sleeve filled with those wires and put them around chain locks. So when somebody tries to saw your chain of the wires get caught in their grinder and it wil not cut anymore..
I have one of those ballistic fibre sleeves on my chain, but mostly because it'll save the powdercoat on my wheels and it says "FUCK OFF JUNKIE" on it.
Yes it's long fibres, any long fibres relatively loose will clog a chainsaw or disc cutter if there's enough, you could keep clearing it and cut through eventually but it slows the theft, no theft is 100% preventable, only delayable.
hearing of all those attacks made me nervous to ride from germany to england to visit some friends. it´s stupid that something causing damage to not only property but often also health isn´t taken care off in a harder way.
ANYONE CONCERNED ABOUT BIKE THEFT, BIKE JACKINGS IN LONDON PLEASE JOIN US ON SATURDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER FOR THE BIKERS UNITED PROTEST RIDE. GO ON FACEBOOK AND SEARCH UKMTP AND JOIN FOR MORE INFO.
MUNRO MUSIC go get tiki torches and white hoods. Burn a cross or two. Let's not kid ourselves here. It's not white kids commiting these thefts. We all know exactly who it is. They stand out like a sore thumb when walking down the road. They're neon black signs shouting "I have never worked a day in my life and I am criminal". All look like cringey unsigned rappers. Fucking looserrrrrs.
Dont know how about in London Baron but in Manchester average speed cameras ate facing the front of the vehicle therefore it doesn't work on motorbikes as it cannot read your reg, I am always doing 70-80 in a 50 average zone on motorway and never had an issue
SkeletalBob so how does that work then? The camera needs to bounce a signal off the vehicle back to the camera twice to measure the difference and calculate the speed. If the vehicle is moving away when the first signal is sent then it could be out of range for the second signal - which sounds like a challenge to me!
The speed cameras take two pictures in rapid succession and use the difference travelled in-between to work out the vehicles speed. I believe to evade this you need to do a minimum of 180mph (though newer cameras may use different technology)
Of my 8 week riding tour through Europe and Morocco, 2 weeks were in the UK. I brought my bike from the US where my state has a yellow plate, but much smaller than U.K. plates. I didn't worry about speed cameras, nor average speeds. When I picked up my bike at Heathrow, I just happened to talk with a few coppers who agreed that your system wouldn't be able to work out how to send me tickets. Just don't get pulled over and you're good! BTW, I avoided London, Paris, Berlin, Rotterdam, Madrid and Nice. I had to go to Toulouse for parts though from damage incurred in Morocco.
BaronVonGrumble at some point soon I'm going to do a vlog around London, probably at night. Think I'll take the old FZR rather than something more glitzy and Italian!
The problem is their population is so much higher and in a smaller space compared to here. We still get bullshit crime like this but only in small pockets around the country where there is high population density in low socio-economic areas so we never hear about it. Caboolture in north Brisbane is a prime example as well as areas of logan and Ipswich. Im not too sure about other states but I know Sunshine in Melbourne is pretty bad and blacktown in NSW
I'm sorry, but what about the comment concerning the Yanks? Are you referring to America and, if you are, are you referring to vehicle and bike theft in America or how America is portrayed in the Aussie media? Honestly curious and, do you guys have theft like this in big cities out there?
Just catching up on old vids after pranging my bike and healing. BEMOTO are beyond brilliant. I have nothing but praise for them, after making my claim a very speedy and painless process. New SDR gets delivered Friday...woohoo
I can understand thieves logic, why would you not steal some bikes when you risk virtually nothing? We have the same problem is France. Regular bikers (AKA guys who actually afford and care abour their bikes) are being harassed by the police and charged huge premium by their insurance while the thieves are driving stolen bike without helmets and doing rodeos without any issue. If they are arrested they have no insurance, no driving licence and no money (at least on paper haha). Why would you even look for work when you can make a couple grand per week while having fun? This double standard is driving me insane.
Just rang BeMoto and they have smashed the pants off my renewal.....quoted your ref and did indeed get the excess insurance for free. Thanks very much just glad I sat and watched your vid on the way to work.
It's stupid ... If they were stealing cars at the same rate they were stealing bikes there would be uproar hell it would probably get to parliament but because It's bikes no one seems to care
I work in a police control room. we receive 99% more calls regarding cars being stolen than bikes. But when bikes are stolen they're not treated with as much urgency as stolen cars, mainly because of how they can be used in a weapon and by organised crime groups.
minihjalte exactly what happened to my flat mate. That's always been my number one concern. You gotta get a big chain and lock it to fixed objects like lamp posts. And put a bike cover on it so no one can see shit. Chuck a couple disk brakes on too they're cheap as fuck.
As usual in the UK, the punishment never fits the crime. I am always staggered at the end of our Fly on the wall Police programs we have on the TV (of which we have many) what poxy fines, suspended sentances, and community orders are handed out for quite serious offences. The Judges handing down these sentences need a properly good kick in the bollox (or twat) and start dishing out proper, relevant punishments to the Scumbags.
I think it was in another Baron rant but a bike thief gets done for £180,000 worth of stolen bikes (that they know about) and gets a 6 month suspended sentence. Biker hoists a little minger, BOOM, 1 year in prison. WHAT.THE.ACTUAL.
The 50 average limit on the A3 stops after a few mile or so, there's around 3 poles, there's isn't an average camera after the first old school speed camera ... hope that makes sense.
Average speed camera is 10% +2 (57mph). Although riding into London towards Canary Wharf, the cameras there are facing towards, so can go at any speed down there.
Baron, as you pointed out; Police hands are tied. Current policy means they’re not protected by the law if the little wankers get hurt. The only way anything ever changes is if there is money/votes in it. What needs to happen is that the public in large numbers demand that Police Pursuit policy is changed to protect the police and the victims, not the suspects. They must be allowed to use the training they have been given without being prosecuted for trying to do their jobs. Second, the public need to demand that the sanctions are tightened against bike thieves so they can expect a custodial sentence if caught. This is unlikely to change whilst the prisons are overcrowded however. Third, failing all that we should bring back the stocks and publicly flog the little fuckers when caught...pipe dream I know...
Firstly yes, we need to stop valuing the human rights of thieves and criminals above the human rights of the potential victims and police force. They already caused a crime and are escaping? Chase them no matter what, if they kill themselves in the process then great one less criminal on the streets. Secondly, you're also right that prisons are over crowded but there is never a need for capital punishment (or flogging etc.). There are currently not enough public service sentences being handed out. They can work menial tasks for the benefit of society to work out their punishment, not get an easy life inside a cell full of TVs and gyms.
With regards to speed camera tolerances, I believe you get a 2mph leniency plus an additional 10% - the 10% constitutes inaccuracies in the vehicle that can occur as a result of different conditions. Ie if your vehicles speedo calc baseline is based on healthy tyres of a specific size and tyre spec (manufacturer dependant) ... but the tyres are more worn the reading the vehicle has on the speedo can be inaccurate. Also can be totally skewed because of heat levels and the expansion/contraction of air in the tyre and rubber.
Just insured my blade with bemoto, policy and customer service are both fantastic, I'd highly recommend and will hopefully be a customer for a long time!
Great rant. Years ago I had my bike nicked from bang outside Bow Street Nick. You could see the space where it was parked through the cops window as I stood at the desk reporting it! Free underground parking in central London, make the most of it before everyone finds out..
Re: specs cameras, if you get bored let a vehicle that's sticking to the limit go ahead of you s fair bit, then see how fast you can catch up with it whilst within the av speed check zone. As you're still technically within the average speed there's no worry about getting done. It works and other motorists will think you are mental.
What a trip, I had an old Yamaha TT600 stolen this morning. They pushed it a few blocks and dumped it on the rear brake pedal, locking up the tire. I got very lucky!
There is something to be said about our laws here in the US. We've had issues with motorcycle theft, I started carrying my 9mm Kurz pistol externally while on my bike, it magically is left untouched anywhere I go, and I have zero issues with riding through the really bad areas of where I work. On the other hand, it does welcome violent situations with those who are better armed and more motivated to steal.
I think scooters get more media for the opposite reason. It's seen as young, lower class person's mode of transport. So it feeds in to the moral panic.
More scooters go because they're easier to hotwire and any old mug can ride them, just twist-and-go with two brake levers. Proper bikes are harder to get started and you need to know how to engage clutch, select gear, all that shit and not stall it when you're getting chased. You've got to be an actual rider to consider nicking one. Unless you're one of those gangs who simply grinds through the chain and throws it into a van to be taken far far away.
The first average speed camera is just before @ 2.44 then the second is @ 2.58 & then the third is @ 3.09 Baron ! The third average speed camera is hiding a little bit behind the trees !! After that there's no more average speed cameras matey just the usual speed cameras along there . Great vid , keep up the good work mate :)
All valid points. Your suspicion that things are dramatically different in the US is somewhat misplaced. There is a tremendous leniency toward "under represented minorities", under-represented in the sense of managing to graduate from secondary school, in the legal system. There is a resurgence of much of the petty crime that hamstrung US cities in the 1960s to early 1990s. Of course, now that the crime rates are down, there are grumblings that the same minorities are over-represented in the general prison population. Maybe cutting off hands is the answer. I would certainly take a finger off of a tagger for the first offense and each successive.
Totally agree about those average speed cams - couldn't believe how many of them there are these days. Not only do they induce mind-numbing (and potentially deadly) boredom but they also put vehicles alongside each other for much longer, increasing the time when some muppet can decide to change lane into you without thinking.
I think bikers should go round and find the ones nicking the bikes give them a fucking good drash, like fast and furious when the truck drivers fight back, if the police cant handle it or are not aloud to we will
You can't even defend yourself and avoid being charged, let alone trying to pull some vigilante shit. The police will be out in force to crack down on evil nazi's beating up poor downtrodden economic migrants and kids out having fun with their mates. They would come down in force and throw the book at anyone trying to take the law in their own hands. We both know this is sadly true.
1QuickSlovak think about this for a minute. The English police won't chase a bike thief, so what makes you think they will chase YOU after you've beaten some bike thief senseless? Cops don't pursue bike thieves You attack bike thieves and run.. cops won't pursue you either.
Love the rantage! as for BeMoto, They really are awesome, great customer service when I started the policy last year and changed bike in March. Top class!
Welcome to the Kingston part of the a3. Where average speed cameras now make a once good bit of road crappy. I remember when bikers coming up from newlands corner in Guildford would see how fast they can get before that camera before breaking. Mostly because that camera was off 90% of the time anyway.
Everything that comes out of Baron's mouth is completely true. The government don't give a toss about us taxpayers. And they especially don't give a fuck about us bikers too. Wankers...
the majority of moped thief's are young children. i know two young boys who steal mopeds and both of them come from a good upbringing. i was told by them that it literally impossible to get caught if you are not wearing a helmet as the police wont hit you off. trying to keep up with a bike in traffic is impossible police stand no chance
Such a joke how criminals can waltz around carefree bragging about what they're doing, knowing they won't be stopped.. I wouldn't normally agree with vigilante groups but..
Seb K I would encourage the police to knock them off as that's at least some deterrent to bike thieves. Police are too afraid to get sued unfortunately
What you say from 3:10 is so true. They teach that to train drivers. It's easy to lose your situational awareness when you don't stay active on the controls.
yeah they're just another big insurance company. I haven't had to make a claim with bemoto yet, but getting a quote with them was good they talked to they're brokers for me and called back. not just the first number they get on the computer and thats it.
My bike got nicked from my garage, whilst I was overseas. Worst part was the insurance ran out 3 days prior and it was the one time the bloody thing didn't automatically renew. Miss that bike so much :(
Yo B! Bit of good news is that you can boot it just after the bend on the new average speed section! When you can see the hook road roundabout/bridge, ping it boy
Hey Baron I've always been curious about the sorts of things you do in your day job. I'd definitely enjoy watching a video featuring some of your work and hearing a bit about it!
I moved from Reading when I was 7 to South Australia; 10 years later dad reckons it's the best thing he's ever done. I can walk down the shops and leave my dog tied up outside or my bike unchained. Quite often see people who jump into the bakery and leave their cars turned on on the other side of the road.
Had a close call myself when this all started happening but didn't have a camera at that point on my helmet. Tried using Bemoto insurance but was still ridiculous pricing (yes I live in London) and the insurance quotes have just gone through the roof. Might not be able to insure the Versys next year as over a grand for insurance is ridiculous
Average speed cameras (and any other) are only a concern to motorcycles if they're rear facing, there are loads of places where they're only forward facing so - no problem.
Oh and I enquired with BeMoto and to be honest whilst they couldn't quote me because I needed to be 30 to be insured on my bike with them, I can't sing their praises enough, they're a breath of fresh air, customer service is on point! Looking forwards to turning 30 lol
Finding Neutral We have worked hard with our Insurers to reduce minimum rider age subject to experience. Looks like you have a Panigale going by your pic. We can insure them for riders 25+ subject to prior experience. Hope this helps and that we might now be able to offer you a quote. PM us if we can help
Nick Fenton thanks for your reply mate, I spoke to a very helpful lady at your place in January (I think) and was told 30 for my 1299 (I'm only 26) but will certainly give you guys a call soon and see if there's anything you can do! Thanks again!
We have moved some of our Underwriters to insure these from the age of 25 subject to good prior experience. If you have had your licence over 5 years and fit some of our other criteria we should now have a scheme that fits your risk details. Hope to speak soon!
Dad just got done in average speed zone the other week in his M4, caught at 8:30am on a Sunday morning on a completely empty 4lane motorway and he has to do a 5hour course and pay a fine for doing 60 in a 50 (on a motorway that should be 70 but aparantly there was road works somewhere) 😐 bloody Uk
I agree with you good sir, when I stayed in the London area I had my push bike stolen (of high sentimental value) I had cctv of the boy leaving his house and then me coming out of the front with the time frame fitting perfectly and even had previous cctv of the same kid breaking open the charity boxes in the church next door the previous week. All was deemed circumstantual evidence as he was not seen taking the bike on cctv. I have also chased off two kids trying to steal my then new 125cc bike 2 weeks after I got it, the police did much better this time with dogs and such but no luck in capture. It's the cutting of officers, so lesser crimes have to be pushed back. But if you stop people from breaking windows then everyone is safer.
Friend had dual disk brake locks and a chain going through the spokes and around a pole. Thieves just cut the chain with some loppers, dragged the bike 20 metres and loaded it onto a trailer. People have had about 3 goes at my Ninja 1000 either sticking things in the ignition or trying to drag it away but between the immobiliser and 250kg kerb weight they've had no such luck.
He's back....the baron at his best, pissed off and angry. I fooking love these videos. It had everything, waterproof jeans, amphibious vehicles for the dry land, disempowerment, catching the eye of a lady boy, cameras more annoying than Richard the hamster Hammond and mithical 👮. I haven't seen a police (that's not garding an embassy) for years. The ones on telly are probably just actors. Lovely stuff........keep it up 😵
Good old Barron and his rants. Been waiting for a good rant on here to be honest. This one is legit tho! I had my Speed triple stolen from me during my first visit in London. Parked it, chained it + disc lock. Few hours later it was gone!
The only way to deal with it now baron is to fit a tracker on it. I have two amazing trackers fitted now and I know where my bikes are at all times. If my bike moves I get a notification on google maps telling me exactly it's location. London is in a state because things are not being dealt with.
I used to park my street triple at one of the Q car parks; the one in Knightsbridge and believe it or not the bike would be safer outside on the street as someone reversed it it and broke a lot of the fairings and in other occasion some idiot tried to steel it inside the car park!! They have no staffs in the car park and the cameras do not work. The Police said to me they can do nothing and I should try to put more security devices as it is like this all around London. So annoying.
Same thing in NYC, I had 2 motorcycles stolen in the last 3 years. I had one stolen in downtown in front of government building. My other one was outside my house I had a cover on and I had it chained up to a pole and my car. Thieves cut 2 kryptonyte chains and lifted it with a disk-lock. Nothing is done about bike theft. and now my boy got his new MT09 stolen too. Its ridiculous.
Totally agree. I see tons of videos of it from visordown etc. Very crazy, something has to be done, because you know if it doesn't it'll just get worse and worse.
I’ve heard the Italians do the following on average speed sections: 1. they learn what section is being measured. 2. they check if there’s a cafe on the section. 3 if yes, they take out their Ferraris, and do 200mph, then stop for a coffee within that section!! :)))) only thing to watch is how long You’re staying in the cafe
For average speed cameras see the A9 to Scotland, 120+ miles of 60 limit 😫😱😫😱😫😱 Did it July. To avoid go up the West side through Fort William, Glenn Co and Loch Ness.
Had my R6 & month old RSV4 parked outside my apartment building in different spots. Thieves got my R6, but couldnt get the RSV4, I guess because I had 2 disc locks on it and it weighs 1,000 lbs. Anyway, I now park the Ape in my 10th floor apartment, and the police found my R6 a month later. So its not always bad. But I do need a house with a garage ASAP.
Sad times but what can we do?! Comment below with your best ideas for hand choppage.
Here is the link to BeMoto - well worth a call, you can even say JizzMachine and they understand :www.bemoto.uk/44teeth-road-bike-insurance
BaronVonGrumble my bike WAS stolen! An MT10 but thankfully it was found a week later mainly intact! Thieving fuckers!!
(the videos that is) 😉
Kiran Reid where did you put your kill switch? Because, you know, I have the same bike, yeah, and I'm gonna do the same to mine. 🤔

They've got plenty of time to police horrible tweets on Twitter though. UK police are a joke.
It’s the same with fucking parking tickets, oooo you were sat here for a minute too long... but no one does shit if the bikes nicked when you’re parked legally 👍👍

Roadified what country were the thieves from my friend?. Glad your didn't loose the bike
Yeah did you stop and ask them what country they were from? Jesus Christ.
They were "directly from the boat".
Det er satme trist at hører kammerat.. Hvor i landet bor du?
Bande skyderi ? Går udfra i nærheden af København...
Had my mk 3 golf GTi parked outside a friend's house on a main road in Manchester once. Just came back from a long drive and forgot to take my sat nav out of the car. I seen a brand new Samsung phone on somebody's garden step once with nobody around to stop me picking it up and walking off with it but that didn't even enter my mind, I knocked on the front door and gave the phone to the girl that lived their. The point is that some people are just scum with no morals.
Love what you left out of this story...
I LOVED THIS. OLD SKEWL BARON RANT.
Next up from the Met:
"Don't wanna get raped, don't dress so slutty!"
George Jordan That's spot on!
George Jordan That happened in Toronto. Which ofcourse is another magnet for bike thefts. I don't know anybody that lives in a condo in downtown Toronto that HASN'T had their bike stolen or fucked with.
George Jordan already happened in germany
Yeah, financed by Soros&Co.
Serge Go There are also many non white law abiding citizens aswell...

carnafillian113 there is over 8.5 million people in London, and 31 thousand police officers. Manufacturers should be building more security features into the bikes.
george QZZY Why aren't they caught when they try to sell it?
Cerebral Method why aren't all drugs dealers caught when trying to sell... it's impossible to stop it. From what I've been told they normally only sell to mates or mates of mates.
Baron you are awesome! Thank you for your intelligence and humor. Your "vlogs" are a breath of fresh air and a welcome break from the other motorcycle videos I've been trudging through on youtube
"Maybe you should lock it up." Maybe women should cover up to avoid rape too, then? The logic is horrendous.
Funnily enough that is also the case across many areas of London.
Bruh..
Mr TriickZ If that is all it takes for you to get "aroused" I suggest you see a professional and get your hormones under control.
You have those special legg protection pants that contain like 1 million small nylon wires that when you accidently hit your legg with a chainsaw it wil clog up the chain. Maybe somebody should make some sort of sleeve filled with those wires and put them around chain locks. So when somebody tries to saw your chain of the wires get caught in their grinder and it wil not cut anymore..
polarweis nice train of thought but grinders and chainsaw don't work in the same way, so it wouldn't work unfortunately
thejtager or make it out of magnesium. Give them some heat:)
I have one of those ballistic fibre sleeves on my chain, but mostly because it'll save the powdercoat on my wheels and it says "FUCK OFF JUNKIE" on it.
Yes it's long fibres, any long fibres relatively loose will clog a chainsaw or disc cutter if there's enough, you could keep clearing it and cut through eventually but it slows the theft, no theft is 100% preventable, only delayable.
hearing of all those attacks made me nervous to ride from germany to england to visit some friends. it´s stupid that something causing damage to not only property but often also health isn´t taken care off in a harder way.
same. did you go?
ANYONE CONCERNED ABOUT BIKE THEFT, BIKE JACKINGS IN LONDON PLEASE JOIN US ON SATURDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER FOR THE BIKERS UNITED PROTEST RIDE. GO ON FACEBOOK AND SEARCH UKMTP AND JOIN FOR MORE INFO.
MUNRO MUSIC --- sorry, hell of a ride from Houston where alligators ate my bike...
Mr Ebola plenty of whites at it too
actually EVERY stolen bike ive seen (about 10-15) in london has been ridden by a white male 11-30years old
Dont know how about in London Baron but in Manchester average speed cameras ate facing the front of the vehicle therefore it doesn't work on motorbikes as it cannot read your reg, I am always doing 70-80 in a 50 average zone on motorway and never had an issue
Paweł Skw They can vary in London to either front or back. Or both in some instances : (
2:58 These new bastards on the A3 face the rear, the amount of people locally caught already is huge
SkeletalBob so how does that work then? The camera needs to bounce a signal off the vehicle back to the camera twice to measure the difference and calculate the speed. If the vehicle is moving away when the first signal is sent then it could be out of range for the second signal - which sounds like a challenge to me!
I dont know guys, maybe youre right, I personally never seen one facing rear of the vehicle :)
London sounds like a 3rd world country over here in Australian media. You guys are catching up with the Yanks :O
AdjrianNickelodeon when u come visit i can show you around ... but lets get old Honda Deauvilles as a precauction 😂😉
I'll take the chain mail thanks. That's a British thing isn't it..? o.O
BVG exclusive tour, tho!! :)
This double standard is driving me insane.
sdfsfsf this is the heart of the issue for me, and SO many other issues...
I've been binge watching all these bvg's... and this one has to be one the top rants ever from you...absolutely love it mate
Tell me about it, my R3 was stolen INSIDE my university, it had about 700 miles.
Kill switch with numerical codes needed to start it etc.
Ouch
muzman777, that does nothing against a van and 3 guys.
minihjalte exactly what happened to my flat mate. That's always been my number one concern. You gotta get a big chain and lock it to fixed objects like lamp posts. And put a bike cover on it so no one can see shit. Chuck a couple disk brakes on too they're cheap as fuck.
yeah my mistake was thinking it was safe inside so I didnt chain it to a fixed object. lol
So happy right now. Classic double bloody decker Baron vlog. Today is going to be a good day.
You are just what's needed after a shit week, you say what we all think, need more postings. Keep it up buddy!Cliff
Just tell them nicely not to do it again and everything will be solved
The 50 average limit on the A3 stops after a few mile or so, there's around 3 poles, there's isn't an average camera after the first old school speed camera ... hope that makes sense.
mine got stolen 4 days back it was a yamaha r15 (150cc) India
The duck tour in Liverpool, sank in the Mersey with all the passengers on it
Lol
Just insured my blade with bemoto, policy and customer service are both fantastic, I'd highly recommend and will hopefully be a customer for a long time!
Wish you'd released this a month ago. Then I would've known and could have protected mine :( RIP MT07, had you 6 months on A2 license
did you have it restricted? was it a nice bike? just asking cause im about to do my a2 and not sure what bike to get yet but i like the mt07
Great rant. Years ago I had my bike nicked from bang outside Bow Street Nick. You could see the space where it was parked through the cops window as I stood at the desk reporting it! Free underground parking in central London, make the most of it before everyone finds out..
I really wish you would get off the fence and say what you really think!
Vigilante payback is the only way forward.
You tell 'em Baron
Yes Baron!!!!!! This is why I subscribed 1 million years ago! A good old fashioned Baron rant! (You're bang right too!)
I think scooters get more media for the opposite reason. It's seen as young, lower class person's mode of transport. So it feeds in to the moral panic.
How very dare you.
Misread the comment a little so my reply is a bit out of context but everything I said still stands lol.
QuixoticQuaver Vespas are very gay!
Gillenz Fluff - This is a hate speech!
We both know this is sadly true.
aarontash i live in the west midlands and see stolen bikes multiple times a week so i would have to get into a fight every few days to do that
1QuickSlovak think about this for a minute.
The English police won't chase a bike thief, so what makes you think they will chase YOU after you've beaten some bike thief senseless?
Cops don't pursue bike thieves
You attack bike thieves and run.. cops won't pursue you either.
Love the rantage! as for BeMoto, They really are awesome, great customer service when I started the policy last year and changed bike in March. Top class!
Yay B-dog is back!
Welcome to the Kingston part of the a3. Where average speed cameras now make a once good bit of road crappy. I remember when bikers coming up from newlands corner in Guildford would see how fast they can get before that camera before breaking. Mostly because that camera was off 90% of the time anyway.
Baron talking sense yet again.
Getting pissed off with this.
I completely agree with you Chris, removal of limbs really is the best deterrent
Everything that comes out of Baron's mouth is completely true. The government don't give a toss about us taxpayers. And they especially don't give a fuck about us bikers too.
Wankers...
This is an upload schedule that I can live with.
Keep it up Baron!
the majority of moped thief's are young children. i know two young boys who steal mopeds and both of them come from a good upbringing. i was told by them that it literally impossible to get caught if you are not wearing a helmet as the police wont hit you off. trying to keep up with a bike in traffic is impossible police stand no chance
The Police won't hit them off but they come near someone who doesn't tolerate shit then they will get knocked off believe me .
Report the little shits to the police and supply an address? Surely you done something about it?
RyanJM90 they would have no proof to make any sort of arrest. Yes they are scum but there not an awful lot you can do about it
Such a joke how criminals can waltz around carefree bragging about what they're doing, knowing they won't be stopped.. I wouldn't normally agree with vigilante groups but..
Seb K I would encourage the police to knock them off as that's at least some deterrent to bike thieves. Police are too afraid to get sued unfortunately
Unfortunately you are so right Mr Grumbles, Sad times. 😢
you can zig zag at 70 in a 50 zone
Yea, with no number plate fitted !
What you say from 3:10 is so true. They teach that to train drivers. It's easy to lose your situational awareness when you don't stay active on the controls.
Hey baron Im insured with bemoto now. much better than mce. cheers
Robert Warner nice! Did they get u the excess cover thing?
er I dont know maybe. cant remember, I said about your video thats why i decided to call them up.
Robert Warner mce is shit its what ive got
yeah they're just another big insurance company. I haven't had to make a claim with bemoto yet, but getting a quote with them was good they talked to they're brokers for me and called back. not just the first number they get on the computer and thats it.
Perfect video to watch before I start commuting to London in January...
That wasnt London, the sun was out.
Baron there are only the 2 average speed cameras there. When you go under the hook roundabout, you are free to speed up.
Watched this video last night, today I was chased by motorbike thieves, lucky for me I got somewhere safe and road off. Stay safe out there guys
BVG...you are simply awesome!
Great to have you uploading regular Baron :)
Good to see you back BVG
Didnt know they put average speed cams on the A3. Thanks for the tip!
Oh Baron. Even when I stopped riding my bike, I do fucking love watching your shit! Keep it up M9!
There's only 3 avg speed cameras on the A3 you can nail it again from the hook underpass 👍
Lovely stuff........keep it up 😵
great to see a proper rant from Baron again. LOVE it mate! :)
I've been on the London duck tours. They are great! They do still go on the Thames.
Baron. I've been sub for the longest time I absolutely love your content from cars to bikes I absolutely enjoy it all keep it up!
Didn't know you lived in Farnham. i live there too, it's good to see locals big on youtube
Top vid Chris, good to hear you having a good old fashioned rant once again!
Remote cut out switch and a remote activated 12 bore shell mounted under the seat. Should be easy to wire up.
I put a GPS locator on my bike , it was cheap and easy and it works great. Have you ever thought about getting some for your bikes.?
Same thing in NYC, I had 2 motorcycles stolen in the last 3 years. I had one stolen in downtown in front of government building. My other one was outside my house I had a cover on and I had it chained up to a pole and my car. Thieves cut 2 kryptonyte chains and lifted it with a disk-lock. Nothing is done about bike theft. and now my boy got his new MT09 stolen too. Its ridiculous.
Totally agree. I see tons of videos of it from visordown etc. Very crazy, something has to be done, because you know if it doesn't it'll just get worse and worse.
I think most average speed cameras are foward facing so no problem on a bike.
The average is past Esher claygate area from 3 to 2 lanes then goes at hook roundabout. For how long though is the entire run gonna be average....
Baron! I speed down that average speed camera section at 70sh most weekends... never had an issue, don't worry. Doesn't seem to pick up bikes...
lanesplitter87 I did 85 down it and no problem
For average speed cameras see the A9 to Scotland, 120+ miles of 60 limit 😫😱😫😱😫😱 Did it July. To avoid go up the West side through Fort William, Glenn Co and Loch Ness.
We have duck tours here in san francisco too. They do go in the water here
Had my R6 & month old RSV4 parked outside my apartment building in different spots.
The time will come when HELL will be let loose
