Tout à fait d'accord. NP est en totale harmonie avec la musique et ML représente la grâce et musicalité incarnée. MF a quant à elle un côté "look at me" qui rend son interprétation superficielle.

The tall ladies are the most challenged... this is not a ballet for tall dancers. Not even Balanchine, who ha dhad his share of dubious casting decisions, would have cast Agnes Letestu or Platel (who is a lyrical dancer) in this one IMO. Pleasantly surprised with the efforts of the older generation of dancers to actually *interpret* this variation, as opposed to NYCB today just selling the technical goods. But why only French dancers in this compilation?

Sara Mearns just debuted Tchai Pas this Spring, and she was quite good in it.

I saw that performance and while I agree she was good, and better than I expected, there is no comparison with the Sept. 2018 TPdD danced by Tiler Peck. Awesome! Thanks for posting this. I like the French dancers but truly something is missing.
