the things we do for our dogs .you sure look like he was having a fun time playing in there in the living room.it looks like he's going to give you a lot of enjoyment
Welcome Charlie! He looks like he's asking himself "Why is that guy always talking to himself?". He's bound to get used to that. Looks like he will be great company while you are working under your cars. He's built to be a transmission mechanic!
Hi Mr Peek - so how much warmer do you and your wife think the house is after the insulation you put in. I was wondering do you have "Storm windows"? - seems like a great idea
i assume the stairs are so steep because it is such an old house. do you have a standard angle for stairs? ours here are around 37 degrees with a going of 9-10 inches and a rise of between 6-8 inches
i miss my little dachshund its nice seein that you have one and you have to show him that the ramp is fun carry him upstairs and put him on it and go downstairs and he will follow
The house is much warmer. We had storm windows but they were old and leaky, and we got new windows now. Took us 3 years to be able to afford 'em, bought a few at a time..
Coming soon " Charlies's elevator" pt.1. Set up your camera so we don't miss when you use the ramp while half a sleep! I won't larf till after you do ( Boat, noggin etc.) Just sayn'
That looks like it'll work well. He's a cute little guy.
He's climbing Mount Everest
Yea it's too steep.
Right?! Soooo steep!
Holy cow, that is a crazy STEEP ramp!
Yea way to steep. It never did work out.
@rpeek it was a kind hearted gesture though. That matters
@@charlamiller3900 We gave it a good try.

He'd get a better grip with rubber
Yea, this thing was an absolute fail. hahaha
He gave it a tempted look this mornin', but didn't take the leap. I'll keep an eye on him.

I'm thinkin' a big piece of pcv drain pipe and some compressed air. Just blow him up to the upstairs.. haha
most of his windows are new vinyl retrofit with low e argon he did such a nice job they don't stick out like a sore thumb like some retrofit jobs do

What a loverly idea, you kind kind man :-)
Well, has he used the ramp? The ramp is scaring me.
Yes. Steep stairs seem to be pretty common in homes built in the 1800's I think. High ceilings too.
i miss my little dachshund its nice seein that you have one and you have to show him that the ramp is fun carry him upstairs and put him on it and go downstairs and he will follow
Nope. He's not interested in the ramp. I'll be taking it down.. haha.

little steps between steps ???
Now, when you're home alone you won't be talkin' to yer self.
Should be an interesting experiment. I will keep tuned for more updates.
Blessings,
George
How about putting slats a few inches apart to keep JR from sliding down! Good luck with the New Dog!
Congratulations. I wish you a lot of laughs with Charlie.
How did u attach it to the stairs?
Don't try this at home. It was too steep.
I just bought a dachshund sunday going to do this
This didn't work. Too steep...
Awesome! Welcome home Charlie! Home you are all having lots of fun! Good idea about the ramp, hope he can use it! Has he had a try yet?
DANG that was quick!
dude, tarp that beetle up and save its life!!!!!
For my old dog I just cut some 4x4s and screwed them on each stair making each step smaller
wow that looks steep. Keep us posted. He's looking comfortable at home.
You also want to keep him from jumping off stuff that's too high - that long back is subject to all kinds of trouble that way...
awwwwwww so cute!
I like charlie...He`s cool!!!
Go to the top of the stairs and call to him. You'll find out, in short order, if he'll use the ramp or not.
Oh Doggy elevator! NEW PROJECT! Woo Hoo!
Good on you for trying. You are a Legend ! Did you come up with something else that worked? Canine regards, Michael
I did not. We carry him up and down the stairs. I did built a ramp up to the couch for him that works.
Did it work?? I have the same problem at the minute.
No it didn't .. Steps were too steep for him. We carry him up and down.
Does it works ? I’m about to built ramp for my dog too … I’m just afraid that it will be too steep
No it didn't work. Too steep. Don't try it.
