I was 15 when his 1st episode aired. In part, because of the show and the fear of the draft board, I traveled across the US & Canada on my 750cc Honda, sleeping bag and pup tent during the years 72 to 75. Found memories.
I was 10 yrs when this show debut it was my favorite show ever as a little boy, I got a mini bike 🏍 and when I was 13 I got a brand new OSSA 250 Trials bike man life never ever was better than that day Santa Clara Ca was so wide open I was able too ride all over the county best time of my life thanks 🙏 Jim Bronson
Can't believe this was only on for one season. I remember this show so well. My sister and I had a major crush on Michael Parks. So glad to know he's doing well and working in so many Tarantino films. Great interview.
I will never forget this guy he was fine as hell.Great actor. I saw this movie called the Wild Seed boy was that great. He is such a great actor and I feel overlooked. You made a very little girl happy fanatasizing about running the country on a train. Thank you Mr. Parks.
When I watched this as a kid, all of the other guys I knew (including my older brothers) absolutely loved this series. I could never believe they cancelled it, I thought it would go on forever. I guess it was kind of a counter culture show and lost on so many adults of that time. But us kids and the teenagers were crazy for it.
They cancelled it because Michael Parks would not give into their demands of making the show into sex and violence. Michael would have none of it, as he had made the show a wholesome family show, and for the whole season that's exactly what it was. If they wanted sex and violence, they would have to do it without him, and we all know the ratings would have dropped 100% without Michael Parks as the star.
Tv shows like this one played a big part in making me the man I am today. Back in the day tv and movies were used to educate and make a better world. That stop years ago and now look at us:-(
This show made me want to get a bike, I got a motorcycle instead of a car when i got my drivers license , all my friends got cars but not me...and i owe a lot of it to Then came Bronson. He was what i thought i wanted to be....i ride my big ole Harley when ever i can.. thanks Micheal,,,,,,,RIP my friend and brother. And someone should show these in reruns....
Thanks for posting this interview - outstanding. In 1968 my best friend and I ran away from home using his newly purchased Honda 350 my buddy had bought with money swiped from his folks. We were ahead of our time in wanting to go see the country on a motorcycle. We ended up returning home sooner than expected and then not long after got hooked on TCB. Both of us independent of one another joined Navy and I got to see the world - Mike B did not see anything outside of California!
Back in the 80's I lived on the bike for 7 months. Did the States west of the 'Mighty Miss'. Road in sun, rain, snow, hail and one tornado few hundred feet away. OH GOOD GOLLY that was one wonderful trip. Left with snow on the ground, returned with snow on the ground. . Now I'm semi-retired I'm currently living it again, hoping my health keeps up. I'm riding 24/365 4+ years now in northern ILLINOIS. Sold my 2 trucks back then, dang high taxes, and so far no regrets. . I ride pulling my big trailer behind the bike doing my jobs, grocery's day/weekend/vacation trips, etc.. For jobs my trailer is loaded with a couple 28 foot ladders and tool boxes which USUALLY turns a few of heads. . So far acquired 90% for my 'Full RV' trailer parts, both inside & out, and in the designing stage. Looking to ride the rest of my life on the road again. Sure would be nice with a wonderful lady. .. .. .. [i rambled a bit, been a long day]
As one who has absolutely no use for the buzzards of Hollywood I can honestly say there are only 2 actors who I admired. First is Michael Parks because of the Bronson series and Robert Duvall because of Lonesome Dove. And in my opinion Michael had a very appealing sound to his singing voice as well.
The lead character & "plot" in this show was partly based on real life ex-Hell's Angel Birney Jarvis AKA "Preetam Bobo", as Hunter Thompson named him in his book on the Hells Angels. Birney was a Frisco Hells Angel from 1954-58. He was also a pro boxer, newspaperman & sailor. This show's script was written by Birney's newspaper friend-turned screenwriter, Denne Bart Petitclerc. Birney was technical advisor and assistant to the producer of the NBC and MGM production. Birney now lives in Alabama.
GOOOOOOD GRAVEY MARIE! SHIT CAN THAT BLASPHAMEY BOY...YOUR IN THE HOUSE OF WORSHIP! Michael Parks one of the best actors working! He is awesome in DEATH WISH 5
TCB fan, thanks so much for this. Michael, I wanted to marry you when I was 14, but you were 31 and would have looked silly at my 8th grade dance. But you're still my dream guy! Good to hear your voice after all these years.
I have been a motorcycle nut since I was about 12 years old!! My son is a fourth generation biker! It is in the blood. Got my license in 1964, and been on two wheels ever since.Got my first bike, when I had my license 30 days!!
I loved Then Came Bronson. I never missed an episode. I hung on every word.... I bought a Sportster....That's when the creeping cynicism crept into my life every time this vibrating piece of shit refused to start, couldn't get out of its own way, and generally added misery to my life....... I wondered....Is it possible that television might be misleading?
A really dated series that never made a whole lot of sense. Michael Parks was a great guy, but always wish he'd have had a better show to act in. The scripts in this series were really lame. You get that sense from this very interview. I think Parks thought the scripts were dumb as well.
Even on our big 10 inch black and white television, Then came Bronson was my favorite show to watch.
R.I.P. Michael Parks..

I guess it sent the wrong message, living like a free spirit on a MC .. can't have that!
Rest In Peace Michael Parks.

right w/ ya girl, the man could have replaced James Dean anytime
He was blacklisted because he objected to the violence in the series.
Wild Seed is on UA-cam if you'd like to see it again.
When I watched this as a kid, all of the other guys I knew (including my older brothers) absolutely loved this series.

I loved the show and grew up watching it
The bridge in the scene shot from a helicopter in the opening sequence of the Bronson series is the Bixby Creek Bridge, in Big Sur, California
All the color pictures in this vid were put on the net by me. Original 8 x 10 color photos that were given to me by my Dad who worked for NBC.
thank you

He was "Steve McQueen" cool...

+Randal Caldwell I didn't need a license in 1960 in Texas. That was when I got my first motor, a 350 cc Jawa 2 cycle.
What is that triangle with the eye on the gas tank?
Can someone tell me where the bridge is in the opening of the series and on here ?
It's down by Carmel, CA......... I had to ride over it with my bike.....
Its the "All Seeing Eye",,,,, "On the back of the Dollar Bill"
Bronson: Lane Splitting Pioneer @ 1:03 !
Anyone know why he passed away at a relatively young age? I always had a crush on him. He was adorable.
