When I was young a half century ago I watched Than came Bronson every time it came on even bought a 69 harley sporster drove it cross country one summer I can tell it was wet hot cold and not anything like he exsperianced .but still wish I could go back to that era.
Michael was my friend for many years. Got to know him first while he was in Monterey shooting Then Came Bronson. Later on we moved right across the street from him and the Carlille's. He was always my favorite actor. He was so skilled. He did a couple of exclusive performances for me alone. Michael could change his face and body to become somebody else! Right in front of your eyes!! The first time I saw that it really freaked me out.
Michael Parks was the sexiest thing I ever saw at 11 watching the Wild Seed fantasizing about leaving my abusive home going on the road with Michael Parks. I had such a huge crush on him. He is possibly the most underrated actor of all time. He was handsome charismatic and an excellent actor, God he was beautiful he did not know it but that movie and he saved me gave me something to dream about. We had a railroad track in our back yard I used to lay awake at night wondering what kind of people jumped trains what they were like. Trust me if someone looking half as good as MP had walked out of boxcar I would be rolling around in the hay- scene from the movie- with him in a New York minute. Thank you, MP for all the times you took me away if even just for a while it made it bearable. Wherever you are, I love you. tlo
@@markdavis9148 Two seasons. I have all the episodes. He would argue with producers and one said he was "anti-semitic." That's enough to get black listed.
There is an old Gunsmoke episode, he had a bit part as one of three brothers whose father was a crook selling patent medicines and robbing. The other two brothers killed each other but Michael Parks was the smart one and abandoned the old man and rode off. He was the smart one. His name in the episode was Park.
OMG I use to have such a crush on him when I was 12. Lost track of him for many years until the internet, but never forgot his name or the theme song. He will be sadly missed.
@@7550375503 Like any Actor he could become tempermental whenever he thought he wasn't being listened to. Sure, we had a few arguments, but eventually we understood each other and became fairly good friends even off the set. Mainly, a lot of very good memories.
I agree 💯 with your statement. Parks just hypnotized the viewer with his acting! A lot of everyday people do not know who Michael Parks is but actors they idolize look at Michael Parks as one of the best actors to ever live! Such a legend and a entertaining guy! Sadly missed by many including this guy!
Producers wanted to add more violence to the plots. Michael played it as a pacifist. I think he was trying to calm the country after all the turmoil of the 1960s. He fell out with producers and they canceled the show. Big fan here. The plots were a little sappy but I loved the motorcycle. I was jut a kid then.
Thanks for putting together this tribute. Very well done! And the point you make about the relative obscurity of Michael Parks compared to other actors - who try to constantly ingrain themselves in current pop culture - is well made. Parks work transcends its time-frame. Always has. In addition to his great character roles late in his career, for all too brief a time in the mid-60's Parks was a leading man in smaller films. Wild Seed, and The Idol are two such films that stand out. Also, catch him if you can in a performance on the TV series Route 66. The episode is titled Cries of Persons Close to One. He plays an itinerant boxer with a profound speech impediment. His scene in a school house, where completely inebriated, he is able to speak about his painful life, is one for the ages. His part in Kill Bill couldn't have been done any better by a Spanish speaking actor it was so believable and isn't that the mark of a great actor to make one's character believable...
Nobody has come out and said what he died of. I see him still smoking in later films. I hope he had the brains and the guts to throw Tabaco away. Life is not good when the Tabaco companies got ya by the balls.
He's my father's cousin, grew up together with lots of fond memories in Corona, California. My pops said he could do any accent and play characters effortlessly. RIP Topper
Michael Parks. One of the most underrated actors of the late 20th century
He was great, no need to bring ratings into the equation
@@stupidyutube9 Ratings matter.
Him and John Cazale are two of the most underrated actors ever
Just old enough to have been a fan of Then Came Bronson.
Michael Parks should have been nominated for an Oscar for Red State. One of the most incredible performances ever put to screen.
Such a underrated actor. Thanks for making this tribute and in such a tasteful way.

I think his voice in the Tartintino Rodrigues films is like a smooth warm Brandy. Nice and mellow.
Thanks for this. I just discovered him today in Wild Seed. Loved it.
Yes, he was good in that, wasn't he?
@@brendaleverick3655 excellent!
Then. Came. Bronson.
1969-71 We all fell in love with him. Hollyweird blacklisted him.
why did GOLLYWEIRD blacklist such a talent ?
@@sof9254 He was too outspoken?
It was only on for 1 season 1969-1970

I have seen every film un which Michael Parks played the lead or a character His acting skills the preparation etc dominated the screen as did Brando

Damn Straight, Hail Michael Parks
i didnt know he had passed away. what a shame he wasnt better known
I appreciated his role in Twin Peaks as well. "Then Came Bronson" was one of my favorite tv shows when I was growing up. He was incredibly handsome.
He was a kind man that I had the pleasure to work with! I miss him everyday!! Amazing at his craft
I directed Michael in a film called "Arizona Heat." Nice guy, good friend.Miss him.
What was his temperament?
Thank you for sharing. I’m going to check out “Arizona Heat”. :)
Parks said in an interview that his early success was attributable to his having a cute butt...was he implying what I think he is saying there?

His best performance is China Lake Murders. It was made in 1990,TV movie. It's free on UA-cam. He was killer in it.
Superb actor, but rarely placed in roles that he deserved. Shame that he's gone.
Beautiful. Thank you for this wonderful video of the great actor, Micheal.
Michael Parks is the actor common everyday people never heard of him yet he is all the great directors and actors admir his work! Guy was a legend!
Michael could adapt to any role effortlessly. One of the Greats.
Should have made more "Then Came Bronson" episodes. It was probable studier's fault.

Bravo
Michael shared all with us, but Hollywood blew it!!! What else can be said!!!
Watched Wild Seed the other night... Didn't even realize. Awesome actor he was.
What he did in Tusk was absolutely INSANE.
It's in his voice. .❤
Grand happy highway now for Michael!
The words for his best role Then Came Bronson
Liked Mike Parks my whole TV watching life. RIP Mike.. From Jeff Judd
The guy next to him in Django Unchained is Aussie actor John Jarratt, who played Mick Taylor in the movie Wolf Creek.
I love him so so much as Howard Howe in Tusk, and he's so underrated

He's a relative of mine
Why did his second wife commit suicide? Their marriage only lasted a short time? Just curious.

Jennifer Lawrence was good in Joy as well, she plays the miracle mop lady, lol, but she is so good.
I didn't know he had passed away. R.I.P. Michael. ✝️
MC...whoever you are you need to see Chris Pratt in The Kid. He plays a character so different from his other roles! He is an excellent actor!!
