Can we just give Jonah Hill a huge shout out? He went from being a typical fat guy side comedian in stoner comedies (not hating, I love them) to an Oscar nominated actor sitting next to Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio. What a come up

you should have seen a shot of the yacht Jordan Belfort was on set where the was no water,nothing that was a true piece of movie magic

The wolf of wall street is not only one of Martin Scorsese's best films but it very well could rank among the greatest films ever made. A masterpiece! It may be 3 houres but I have seen 2 hour movies that felt a lot longer than this.
and of course Leonardo DiCaprio....all I have to say is after watching this movie I truly believe he is the best actor in the world.

The fastest 3 hour film I've ever seen. So good. I've seen it four times already and now I'm probably going to watch it again today because of this interview.

It's amazing how much energy Scorsese has at his age. He's a MILLION miles ahead of his peers. I wish he could make 20 more movies before he leaves this earth.

Lewis Joseph Cranston leonardo brings every character he plays to life. Daniel day Lewis becomes every character he plays.
Lewis Joseph Cranston you are a troll to the highest degree to say he deserved an Oscar only once. That is a laughable statement and shows your bias. He was beyond Oscar worthy in Gilbert Grape, Aviator, catch me if you can, inception and wolf of Wall Street. You can prefer Day-Lewis who is also a genius but your stance on DiCaprio is woeful. He’s been the most consistent movie star of our era and is the definition of box office because all of his films deliver something.
One thing I really admire about Leo is that he never takes credit for just himself. Every compliment or every question he gets he finds a way to include everyone else involved in the project. In this video specifically he kept finding ways to include Jonah and make it known that this film was a partnership and that the two of them together made the film what it was. One of the greatest actors of all time and an incredible/humble man as well.
Everything was perfect for this movie, the actors, directors, the editing, the soundtrack. Just a great marriage between DiCaprio and Scorsese again. I especially loved the small role of Matthew McConaughey, they had great chemistry in that moment. Jonah Hill is a star, he brings this natural humour to all his roles, he doesn't have to fight for a laugh.
Nacho idk about the sound track though, some songs seemed a bit off after a rewatch years later. I still love the movie nonetheless.
I love how Martin humbly looks down when being complimented.

also you could tell that line "the sides did cure cancer, thats the problem, thats why they were expensive," was completely improvised by Jonah Hill and it was one of the funniest lines in the movie
Great table, but I really wish Margot Robbie could have been a part of this as well. She was so phenomenal in the film.

10 years later I can’t stop watching The Wolf of Wall Street, my favourite of all time, Leo should’ve won an Oscar for this, his performance in this role must be in acting manuals marked as “Try to surpass”. Bravo!

Scorsese is so humble and shy. It makes it more awsome the fact that it looks like he doesn't realize what a genius he is... GoodFellas is my all time favourite movie and he is my all time favourite director...

Matthew actually filmed this movie a few weeks after filming Dallas Buyers Club. Terry Winters wife worked on DBC. They probably mention that here but I’m just about to watch the video now. Lol just a cool fact.
I think Brad Pitt's a great producer(12 yrs a slave) but I'm glad he didn't get this movie.

Leo is fantastic but Brad would have been incredible. Both are the best actors of their generation with incredible journeys. Leo was a starry eyed kid that basically became the industry’s child and Brad Pitt is the success story that came from humble origins and made in on his own and clawed his way to the top. Both are just class actors
@Model Chick I respect your opinion. Personally, I think you’re placing Leo on too high of a pedestal and Brad’s on equal footing with him in terms of the roles he does and the depth he has but I do agree that Leo is blessed with the better filmography and he did the role perfectly. Beyond the both of them though, I think Christian Bale is probably the best actor and on the same league w DDL. Every time I watch Wolf of Wall Street tho, I mainly enjoy it cuz of Leo’s performance

Same way I don’t see leo being able to pull of fight club, Benjamin button, or an Ad Astra. Both are really phenomenal, especially when they are together like in once upon a time in Hollywood

I know a lot of people will disagree, but we need a Chris Hardwick or somebody to run these discussions. Everyone they have for this channel is an awkward goober that asks lame questions, you need someone with a lighter more charismatic personality to make everyone feel cozy, especially because more often than not we have an ensemble of ultra famous people that don't know each other in a stuffy boardroom.
This is the most kinetic three-hour film I've ever watched. I've seen it four times now; I think I'm going for five this weekend.
I love how Martin was so impressed by his first meet with Jonah. 😍
One of the best movies ever made. The acting was amazing, the script, the directing, all perfect.

I love that Jonah is still just soaking it up, he’s such an incredible actor in this movie and you can tell he’s taking every bit of information from the people around him and using what he’s learnt.
Love to see Scorsese take part in one of the director roundtables you do, his general thought's on moviemaking are fascinating.

I disagree with Leo saying that greed is fundamental in human survival. Survival is one thing and greed is something completely different, greed is what comes after what you have to do in order to survive.
This film is amazing... And all the actors were great, I really really love when DiCaprio and Scorsese works together! And how cool is it that they got over 4 hours of footage for this film?! I don't think I'm the only one who'd love to see it all..

6:45 DeNiro vouched for Leo to Scorsese and the first work together was Gangs of New York... which was subsequently delayed over a year due to the final scene showing the time-lapsed NYC skyline. Sooo many nuggets in about 30 seconds of time. These roundtable videos are awesome.
Man, been a while since i saw this movie. Every time someone mentions it, i still chuckle. Fav. movie of mine, and will probably be for a looong long while.

i feel like margo robbie was SO ignored when they were doing press and interviews for this film. her performance was amazing
she did quite a bit of press on her own, but she honestly wasn’t apart of the ensemble the way leo and jonah were. she was basically along for the ride.

DJ Standing Elk although the departed, raging bull, taxi, driver, goodfellas are my all time faves, wolf of wall street deserves my number 5 spot out of scorsese's movies. this film, was a great ride. everything about it was awesome. scorsese still got it.
