@@raminpcccq well, the movie speaks for itself, but to explain, just the last sequence where De Niro stares through the slightly open door is enough. The acting was superb, directing was at its top. Add the last union of the masters to it. This movie was what we exactly call pure cinema. Well written well directed well played. There is so much to talk about every sequence of the film, I cannot even fit here. I'm pretty sure The Irishman will have taken its place among the best pictures of cinema ten years from now. It already has for me.
They were almost together back in the 90s. Scorsese offered a role for Pacino in Goodfellas as Jimmy Conway but Pacino refused too because he didn't wanna get type cast which is weird because after Goodfellas came out, he and De Niro were in Heat, a role where he got type cast again but still a fantastic performance nevertheless

The best actors, filmmakers, are genuinely interested in people, characters, experiences. The less talented, just want to talk about themselves. I think that's the difference. That's why they're great at what they do.
So true. I think when you do things to keep your mind and body active throughout life, you're more like to maintain your basic faculties a lot better into old age. Especially being a director. My 89 year old dad is a retired Baptist minister but still preaches from time to time. His ability to remember scripture and quote them outta thin air is mind boggling.
@@juancpgo His acting style and persona is definitely influenced by Cagney. This is the first time I've heard someone else mention that. I've always thought the same.
@@mercurianlemonscp7142 it’s a fair assumption to make, because Joe Pesci is mostly retired from acting and likely won’t be back for a project like this. He almost didn’t do this movie at all, but Scorsese/De Niro talked him into it.
Sad thing is, we’re gonna lose these legends soon. Enjoy them while they’re here. Their particular generation is imo the best. Including Hackman, Hoffman, Hopkins, Dern, Nicholson, Eastwood, Freeman, Caine, Duvall etc. I’ve probably left a lot out, we just lost Sean Connery, the cycle begins, but what they’ve given us is amazing.
The Irishman is a Masterpiece. The actors like no actors today can duplicate. I've watched it 3 times now on Netflix and because of this clip I'll watch it again right now.
I grew up with Joe Pesci, he lived across the street from me, in Belleville, NJ. I went to his first wedding and his second wedding. His daughter was born a month after mine and they played together. I have many stories I could tell you about him!
Pesci’s performance on the Irishman was like he was just proving a point, he’s the best mob movie actor of all time ! Pacino still gets the best single performance with Donnie brasco
So cool that Pacino mentioned Israel Horovitz, who is AdRock (Beastie Boys) father & who gave Pacino, John Cazale, Marsha Mason, etc his start. The amount of skill and brilliance at that table is mind-blowing. All amazing men in their craft.
Joe’s performance really impressed me the most. DeNiro is the best actor out of them obviously but in this role Joe was so restrained and so on point for one of those old bosses. They were never loud and barely spoke but to a couple people. Pesci made the film for me.
This is like watching The Rat Pack of Cinematic Mobsters. What a legendary table of conversation. Literally feels like being a fly on the wall. Great job by Netflix in setting the scene and mood right.
I have never seen an actors like Pacino, De Niro. I mean, they are very real. The eyes do not lie. they are legends and will not be repeated. No one will ever appear like them. I wish them good health

Ironic how they are known for playing perfectly brash, over-the-top characters and yet are so calm and soft-spoken in real life. Talk about great actors.
these guys are legends. You grew up watching them and now you see them old. You know, it's never going to be the same once they're all gone. It's like losing part of your family.
Four of the most legendary men in film history. Pains me to see them all age after growing up with so much of their works collectively but so glad we have them.
My favorite Netflix series would be just these guys sitting at a table, talking about whatever pops in the conversation: movie experiences, acting, life, New York… 1h per episode. 3 seasons 10 eps each would be good 😂. But add in Harvey Keitel to the mix.
My only regret is they didn't create more together. I've always wanted to see a film called the 5 families where each of these represented the 5 original families of the NY mob. I think if each of these got their own screen time as a main leader it would be epic.

They talk nicely, but their movies were about organized crime and bad men. Contributes to facts of crime. Yet made money out of it. Millions. In real life they were not criminals, they said to themselves. Think again, I said. "If you chose a bad president, which happens in most cases in the USA, therefore, you are a participant in the misery of your country and people". Opportunists are different sorts of criminals that in this world have not been classified as a crime. We have many degrees of crime, no? Theirs is not known to unconscious humans yet. As a philosopher, I see it very differently. There is a big difference between used-care salesmen and new ones. Prostitution of one's mind is very bad for the spirit and worse for the soul. I do not criticize, but bring it to light. As for what is damaging, we can see it better.

There is so much to talk about every sequence of the film, I cannot even fit here. I'm pretty sure The Irishman will have taken its place among the best pictures of cinema ten years from now. It already has for me.
That's what they shoulda done instead they did a 4 hour snooze fest about Hoffa..smh
crazy that Pacino and Pesci never were in one of those movies together until The Irishman
Two hotheads in same room sounds badass
Tony Montana meets tommy devito
They were almost together back in the 90s. Scorsese offered a role for Pacino in Goodfellas as Jimmy Conway but Pacino refused too because he didn't wanna get type cast which is weird because after Goodfellas came out, he and De Niro were in Heat, a role where he got type cast again but still a fantastic performance nevertheless

Actually Pesci is not really that legendary as Al or De Niro , he only stars in Scorsese's films .
@@youtubexyz208 ever watched "my cousin vinny"
@@youtubexyz208 sounds like starring in a Scorsese film isn’t legendary enough for you
What I found really remarkable about that conversation is that they are really really listening to each other and taking everyone and everything in
The best actors, filmmakers, are genuinely interested in people, characters, experiences. The less talented, just want to talk about themselves. I think that's the difference. That's why they're great at what they do.
Wrong time
This should be a show right here. Pesci, Pacino, Deniro and Scorsese discuss any film over a weekly lunch.
🙌🏿 we need that
De Niro would politely (or not) decline...
That would be a great tv show. I’d pay to watch that.
@@mariolisa2832 No one likes De Hacko.

He directed killers of the flower moon, last year and got elected some awards. He's healthy
@@abidyoosuf thanks for the health update 😂
Even though Pesci is old and the size of my thumb and not a gangster in real life, I'm still terrified of him
He's like James Cagney, he's got that mysterious power about him, that strong personality.
What's so funny?
He is the size of your thumb?
Never really thought of him as terrifying, just comical in a crazy kind of way...

just felt sad this will be the last time we see these four legends together
How can you say that? Do you know?
@@mercurianlemonscp7142 it’s a fair assumption to make, because Joe Pesci is mostly retired from acting and likely won’t be back for a project like this. He almost didn’t do this movie at all, but Scorsese/De Niro talked him into it.

I see what you mean, anyway he did a very good job playing Rusty even though he is semi retired
What a sitdown they surely can make an offer you can’t refuse
They were all great but Pacino was the one who really made it all work. His energy enabled everyone else to be understated.
