Well, the brains themselves haven't changed during the creation process while in the womb, so, yay for that. Plus, let's look at the positives that are likely to happen. We all know that big Corpo is often stepping all over people and they just fall in line/take it. Now, you have people who have quick tempers, low tolerances and low attention spans to stuff that they do not like in their lives, I think it is safe to say that big Corpo will be in massive trouble within quite a few of our lifetimes...
To the older ones who are talking smack about the younger gens, why don't you share your sage wisdom as opposed to just talking out of your a$$es? :)...
A little fun fact: centuries ago, parents were complaining their kids were too busy reading books and didn't bother to go outside to meet some rich person to marry.
I see this fact and double it. There are actual accounts of romans saying: “oh back in my day we just looked at the sun but now these new kids with their “sundials” cruelly splitting up my day. Society is ruined!”
I really hate how we're blaming the victim (Gen Alpha) and not those who invented the souless corporate social media or the parents who can't be bothered to put up with their child
Its crazy because those people who are saying “Back in my day we were watching youtube kids and playing with barbies” are the same people who when they did that were told back then “Back in my days we didnt play outside and worked all day!” its an endless loop.
@@leebliss3622 a lot of parents think it’s safer than yt. Although the fact it’s meant to be safe just means more people post bad stuff to it. But yeah I’m pretty sure yt kids hasn’t existed for 16 years even.

As a gen alpha. My anger towards these type of parents who show no discipline nor safety to these kids is unmeasurable considering I've seen really young kids swearing and punching other kids The parents ain't parenting
A great line from 1985's "The Breakfast Club" when the teacher complained to the janitor about "Kids today". "The kids didn't change" He retorts - "You did."

@@BreadGood_21honestly I am not confused on when gen z ends and starts but more when it ends and the Alphas start. Heck I don't even know the Alphas will end next year or in 2 years lol
To my knowledge gen Z began in 1995 and ended in 2012 and it ended in 2012 as some were still afraid the Mayan calendar predicted the end of the world so I chalk it up to seeing it as a new begginning but the idea of Generations is dumb because a 2012 gen zer would have more in common with a 2013 gen a than their 1995 gen z. Also the fact that it's based off of timeframe of birth is probably the dumbest part imo@thewewguy8t88
In the Greek myth of Daedalus and Icarus: The father of Icarus, Daedalus killed his only nephew becouse he had more potential than his uncle. In an Irish Genesis myth: A great wizard blacksmith split the head of his only son in two because the son had the ability to heal bone fractures and turned out tot be a greater blacksmith than his old man. These stories repressent the jealous and hospitable nature of an older generation towards the younger ones. It's a tale old as time. I experience the samen feeling when my 3-year old niece can do alot more than I could when I was her age. Jealousy has no good purpose. But I must except the fact that others can be better than me in many ways.
I had a math teacher who was an absolute legend. He let us use calculators for one reason: "When you're young, the way you do the math is important, but understanding the concept of math, without doing all of the calculations when you're older is more important."
One does not need to know how to build a wheel in order to use wheels to engineer useful devices. Elementary school children do not need to know anything about 3D calculus to flawlessly calculate the area and volume of any sphere.
@@stevenverrall4527that’s absolutely useless just finished 7th grade and learned how to do that, but it’s utterly useless. When in my life will I need to calculate the area and surface area of a sphere?
Yup I said the same thing. It's important to understand how it works and not just use a tool that does it for you because if for some reason you loose that tool but don't know how the tool worked you won't be able to make a new one, fix it or do the job the tool did in some cases. Example. Emp goes off frying all cell phones and electronicsm well how u gonna do multiplication now?😂😂😂
Exactly. This is how the millennials reacted to the Gen Z. Gosh look at the reaction of the greatest generation to the silent generation. You’re still going outside, not posted cringe because they couldn’t do that in there time. Happens every new generation. I swear some dude. A Gen alpha to be exact. I am gen alpha, But I really thank my family because they did not let me watch Skibidi Toilet. When my mother saw me watching Skibidi Toilet, she slapped me and said that this is wrong and will distract me. I thank her with all my heart because she saved me from this strange thing Love you mum:)
The problem would never be the children’s fault. It’s the parents who instead of disciplining their child when they disrespect or act up, they give them attention and post it on TikTok.
Taking 100% of the responsibility off the child is such a rather bad approach that the child could easily say that he is not watching this (there are such things and they are not brain deadS)
This is exactly what I've been thinking. I also think the wave of anti-Gen Alpha videos is a sort of extinction burst of Gen Z anti-Millennial resentment. Their engagement with us has had distinct phases. First they (naturally) made fun of us, then there was a wave of auto-ethnography videos nailing down what makes Gen Z humour and culture distinct. Tumblr posts from a few years ago by Millennials made very similar claims: "our dark, absurd humour is a product of our unique times". And they're both right; each responds to the same structural failings, magnified by time. Probably Gen X zines and Usenet groups said the same. Each new generation names and claims as its own THAT humour: absurdism is an innate response to the horror of finding yourself 50% cynic and 50% idealist in a world you don't control and that doesn't respect you. Confronting the grind and death of dreams that is your 20s led to a wave of "why Gen Z has given up/work culture is awful" videos: they'd hit the nadir when youthful grit and optimism slam into the brutal cynicism of the corporate machine. Then they started hearing about our kids, and with their own childhoods fresh enough to make them want to side with kids as powerless figures, it's weird for them to realise... they no longer want to. Because damn, these kids piss them off! Many anti-Gen Alpha videos are framed as a knock at Millennial parenting. But they often rely on viral videos and fear-mongering graphs from the right-wing media, so there's a bias toward both "the youth are doomed" stats-manipulation, and videos from parents who invade their kids' privacy (i.e. not the best parents): those kids will always be the most visible on any platform. Most parents, in any era, are muddling through the challenges of life mostly unnoticed until someone older or younger than them has the urge to vent. It was always so.
I'm 28 so right at that age where I'm starting to not understand the youth but I feel like I need to defend them. People have been complaining about the younger generation for millennia and even though we've had our bumps, humanity hasn't destroyed itself yet.
I am 45 (Will be on the 27th) and I still find myself defending younger generations... I have my stories to tell about my youth and proudly do so, but nowhere do I say that younger or older generations are crap... They each also have their own problems and that for sure should also be addressed, but not in such a way so as to say that others are garbage... I do get vocal at times about legit problems though, mainly about older generations talking smack about younger ones :)
I don't really think the new generation is "doomed". I think they are just gonna have to deal with weirder and more complex stuff then the previous generation, and so will the next one. They are into wierd stuff, but so were we. They like skibidi toilet, while we liked mlg. Honestly i pity them because they are gonna have a way more confusing life then we did.
@@samirmehmedovic6554 im pointing out that the problems from the future might be VERY different from the past, during WW2 skibidi toilet wasn't even a thing so why would it be a problem if nobody even created skibidi toilet back then

Yep, it's important to have some balance between phone usage and real life. I think your 5 year old brother still has time to change for the better at this point 👐🏼
Huh feels like only recently people were telling me my generation (Gen Z) was doomed. Now I'm hearing the same generation say the next generation is doomed Edit: Thanks for the 150+ likes guys
As a Gen Alpha, I’m frankly really annoyed by these stereotypes. It’s gotten so bad that if I say I’m apart of Gen Alpha, people won’t listen to what I have to say (which, the majority of us are young). But my community is filled with normal kids. We know math, we read books, we know proper grammar. From what I’ve seen, almost all of Gen Alpha is like this. Those who are brainrotted or rude to others are frowned upon. We’re just painted to be like this by society and social media. People will always come up with a way to feel better about themselves.
Hurr, me see new younglings, them not know hard time. Them not hunt mammoth with stick, not make fire with rock. Them have magic screen, soft bed, food come easy. How them face big world? How them survive without struggle? Them too soft, not strong like old tribe. Hurr, me worry younglings not be ready for real challenge. Me think them need learn old ways, learn tough life.
One things for sure: We have to break the cycle of crapping on the younger generation. GenAlpha was brought into a world of technology, not by choice, but by force. If that has affected them, they are the last people to point the finger at.
@@THTB_lol Blaming the older generation also will not do us any good. Besides, if we are to unite with the younger generation, it would do us good to unite with the older one too, because in the eyes of the youth, we are the older ones, and so we should lead by example. In the end, we are all a product of our environment, though we need not let it define us.
@@THTB_lol Of course someone raised them, but a child is not raised by a collective, but by individuals. If you see a baby whose pacifier has been swapped out for a phone, that's bad parenting, and so the parents then are to blame. But one cannot point the finger at an entire generation. It's just another way to create an unecessary, and in many ways, entirely fabricated divide. I don't act or think the way I am because I am a millennial, but because of the experiences I've had in life and my own, how would you say, internal makeup? Furthermore, this type of logic, I believe, seems like it could be applied to no end. That is, who raised the people who raised the Ipad kids? And who raised the people who raised the people who rasied the Ipad kids, and so on? If we can extend one hand out to the older generation, and the other out to the younger generation, maybe we'll have a chance of crossing this silly divide and unite together as a single species.
I think the root of the problem with Gen Alpha is severe misuse of technology caused by their millenial parent's obliviousness to the nature of the internet, and also parents not teaching their kids how to use the internet in a good manner. Pretty much every kid ive met who got actual education on internet usage has come out much better than the generic gen alpha kid.
You could argue the same thing for Gen Z, since the Gen X parents of them also misused technology from their obliviousness to the nature of the internet and not knowing how to teach their children to use it in a good manner. I do believe Gen Z has an opportunity to better handle and supervise their children's use of technology since we know firsthand how it works and its effects
Tv is just not as addictive you see, social media is made to get you hooked and that’s the major problem. Makes the children aggressive and short time content is proven to damage the brain.
True. I hate to sound old fashioned, but TV is much better than little kids using social media. TV shows need to get approved and have standards to meet, like being a good influence on or being appropriate for kids, while UA-cam Kids is basically the wild west, because anyone can post anything there, no matter how exploitative they are towards their audience. Plus cable doesn't let you choose a specific show or episode to watch. You just watched what was there, meaning you're more likely to give other shows a chance when you're sort of "forced" to watch it (not literally, because you could change the channel, but if you wanted to watch that specific channel, then yeah, sorta). Plus the shows had to be like 11 minutes long or so, not short form, and kids had two to three minute commercial breaks too, that you can't skip. Obviously kids watching too much tv is also bad, far from ideal, but I'd rather kids watch Disney Channel and Cartoon Network than roam on UA-cam Kids or TikTok.
true, i'm 23 years old, and i feel like i already fried my brain with short content, im very adicted, in a sereius level. Imagine what this dues, with a yong kid that are on the initals years of brain development
@@mynameisreallycool1 The only thing that is not so cool is letting children, especially younger ones, watch cartoons for too long because this affects their imagination and creativity. But of course, it's still better leaving kids in cartoons, than those bizarre things that show on UA-cam kids, even I as an adult, I've wached some of that things, because I was with my aunt, taking care of my little cousin, and I felt like I fried my brain, and there are also many videos that have a certain fetish with shit and pooping, and the worst thing is, that it was the ones that involved shit, that my little cousin liked to watch the most, i don't know why, but it seemed to hypnotise her.
The biggest difference was who held the power. With the TV, whatever the TV gods chose to broadcast that day you had to watch or turn it off. Now with social media, you have the power to choose what you want to watch, when you want to watch and where you want to watch.
@@kaduhobusmaybe it's do to w the developmental state of kids. Plus it's funny and has a consistency like slime and people can freak out about it irl. So I can see it being a fun and interesting topic for lil ones. We taught our 5 yr old to watch numberblocks it helped a lot. And to be selective w channels. Disney song playlists are also great for their vocal and musical development
I had a very high tech family, and when I was a kid I got a 1st gen iPad to play with. The thing is, it would stay at home ALLWAYS and i would have to ask my parents to use it. It took me becoming 14 when I got my first Nexus 6 and was able to have my own phone and use it when I want. I think this is the correct way to raise a child with tech.
honestly, I agree I was raised the same way and not all the time I had internet access (as much as I was a being a bitch about it as a kid) it made me have time to understand the wonders of the outside world and others things, either way right as I gain full access I ended up being a gamer, but hey I'm 18 now and I am on route to improvise on my life.
I had a Phone from the first grade, However my family had limits as well. Only on weekends, an hour at a time (though I was later allowed more time if I took 15-20 minute breaks) And no sim card, which I got at thirteen. As I got older, little by little the restrictions were slightly raised.
11:57 This part, THIS PART PROVES A POINT I'VE MADE BEFORE. I've said before that the reason we look gen alpha in such a bad taste is because of the simple phenomenon that our brains cling to negative information more than anything. Because of this, we see more commonly the absolute terribly educated kids and we immediately assume they're all bad, but they're not! The good kids we never see them because those don't give views. We prefer pointing at loud messy parts rather than the clean ones and we represent the messy ones like if it was everything, when all this time, the clean ones were the majority all this time and we turned a blind eye to them.
:O YEAH MOST GEN ALPHA I MEET IRL ARE ACTUALY QUITE NICE !!!11! :D MOST PEOPLE I MEET IN ROBLOX ARE ALSO NICE BUT MOST LIKLY GEN ALPHA :D or maybe most people i meet in ROBLOX are actualy not gen a cuz i dont play games on the front page most gen a probably play games on the front page
Its not exactly gen alpha, its the parents. The parents are just standing there not caring at all about their children, they just give their LITTLE children(as in 1-5 years) phones and ipads. I am greatful for my parents who taught me right, they taught me to respect everyone, and taught me every little good thing in life, no negativity..just positivity. I am saying this as a gen alpha.
The older we get the more we become like the people we used to complain about. Just remember they are kids, they feel just as helpless and misunderstood as we used to (and still do). It wasn't long ago when we (gen z and millennials) were told we were the worst thing to ever happen, that we were ruining everything and were shamed for liking anything, yet we are starting to do the exact same thing to children. We could be the person we needed when we were younger but we are doing the opposite. Remember, we were in their place once, they've never been in ours.
But this is completely different unlike those previous generations, this is brainrot most gen a couldn't even read. Edit: WTF did i even comment? I seriously forgot and cringe about this comment... LOL looks like i matured.

Prior to Smart Phones you might not even be aware of a war happening in another country unless you tuned in to CNN or the likes. Now when a war happens we all see the videos, we hear the screams.. If a fireworks plant in ohio exploded, you'd never even know about it, but now with virality of social media, when something like that happens, we all see the same vids cycling around Everyone having a camera in their pocket and an increase in Security cameras makes it that much easier to capture all the bad things too.
Okay but to be fair the lack of learning multiplication skills is a detriment. The arguement in this video is you will have a calculator always on hand when they grow up. It’s the same dumb garbage about how school is useless because calculators exist. SORRY TO BREAK IT TO YOU MATE BUT IF UR MEASURING OUT WHERE TO OUT FURNITURE U STILL NEED THE PYTHAGOREAN THEORUM YOU NEED THE FORMULA MEMORIZED IN ORDER TO BASICALLY FUNCTION, BESIDES IT TAKES WAY TOO LONG TO OPEN A CALCULATOR JUST FOR 7X4. Knowing multiplication tables is a quality of life upgrade, and knowing formulas is nessesary. I garuntee no matter what job u work in u will use PI R squared atleast once.
Honestly this was an incredible video essay on this topic. As someone who grew up with gmod shitposts and MLG LOL RANDOM humor I can empathize with these Gen Alpha Kids. Skibidi Toilet is literally just a Gmod shitpost and all the other “brain rot” words are hardly different from old “gamer words” from the 2010s. This whole debacle about “Gen Alpha is ruining life” is just pointless fear mongering for attention. A round of applause to you sir for this Essay!
My sister is gen alpha but she is nothing like this ,she watches about 30 min of her iPad a day. As a gen z it makes me sad that a bunch of kids are just creating a stereotype and not every kid loves skidibi toilet
Im 13 idk if im in gen z or gen alpha. Im not on my phone whole day. Max is 1 hour. My sister is gen alpha but knows her limit is 2 hours. And i can say she is on her phone 15 mins. We are mostly outside playing football(soccer). Not everyone is same, but sadly most are addicted to phone.
People also forget that brainrot words are mainly only being used to get a reaction out of everyone else. At first it was all just shock value that a couple youtubers monopolised on but now little kids are learning that when they say these words they can get funny facial expressions out of it, kind of like when they learn a swear word and everyone freaks out, they'll say it more. Even the oldest of gen alpha do this. It's like how people hated the word moist so other people would start using it more and bacame a huge meme at some point.
@bofangchang You're welcome, my young friend! Much ❤️ to your generation as well. And yes, I'm subscribed and have been watching your wonderful videos since you began...you're awesome!
Another random gen alpha kid here. It’s so annoying everyone is blaming us instead of our parents also 90% of us is literally smarter then some people in gen z it’s crazy.
As a Gen Z I can actually agree😭😭 I saw so many smart gen Alphas, which was really impressive. I think there will always be ignorant people in any generation tbh
It’s crazy how people blame us gen alphas for not being responsible or whatever. I think it’s our parent’s JOB to teach us things. It’s not like we know everything right out of the womb. It’s the parents who aren’t bothered to teach their kids basic things that we should be blaming
Yeah I agree. It’s not y’all’s fault for not being taught correctly. I just think that if u know u arnt then teach urself in ur spare time. I was doing algebra in 3rd grade when I was a kid cus I was bored in class. Not knowing ur times tables is as much a disability as being diabetic. With that said I did see a gen alpha doing intermediate calculus so anything is possible, the best advice I could possibly give you is to try and learn from school, you have to be there 5 days a week anyway. So even if it is annoying try and atleast learn. I’m not telling u to be straight A or follow every rule strictly. Hell I’m not even tellin u to pay attention. Just to learn especially ur times tables and basic formulas. A calculator is useless if you don’t know the formula. Also people specifically hate the 8 year olds which is objectively correct because every 8 yr old I’ve met except for 2 have been demon children. (I’ve met 30)
That last section rings so true. It isn't the generation that's screwed, it is the parents that make good or bad choices. We as a society can point at the few bad examples and say that an entire generation is doomed. Or.. we can raise children better, and make the personal choices that improve the futures of our children and our collective younger generation, so that they might pass that on to the next generation, and so on
I honestly feel bad for Gen alpha, I know that it's the tradition of each generation to bully and hate the next generation but just think about it Gen alpha kids have such a different childhood compared to Gen Z and millennials. I am a late Gen Z kid (2008) and I grew up with Comics, cartoons, caring and strict parents and gadgets. Today's kids are growing up with iPad and No social life.
OH THERES EVEN MORE! Just to let you know, I am 10 years old. Practically everyone in my grade does “dating”, the worst part is,THEY HAVE BEEN DOING IT SINCE 1ST GRADE! And I know so because I go to sit down on the swings, and I hear them saying”Oh __ is SOO hot! He plays football too!” Like, it’s 1st grade, talk about normal crap like games, sports, or what you did on the weekend. There is ALWAYS drama in my class about friends because people can’t ever be nice. I was raised by nice parents who taught me manners. They are 44 and 46 years old. And also, no one can ever say,”thank you!” Same with “please” and “hi”. I’m so sick of it to the point I wanna be homeschooled. They also use those Stupid words like “skibidi” or “gyatt”. My sister says those words too and I’m just so sick of it. There’s the truth- I mean, news!
I'm 11, people at my school don't do dating, BUT THEY LIKE EXPECT FOR EVERYONE TO HAVE A CRUSH, and some of my friends are the opposite gender, and everyone jokes that they are dating when they're not, and never had.
Oh, that's been happening for decades, probably centuries. Kids see characters dating on tv or their older sibling having a partner and think that's what grown ups do so they start "dating" kids in their class. There is nothing wrong with it as long as they aren't doing anything sexual. Same with the friendship drama. Kids are stupid and get in stupid fights all the time, especially as you get older; that's just a fact of life at this point. Kids being rude also isn't all that new tbh. Yeah, the words are anoying but it's just going to be a meme for a bit and then will fade out, this sort of stuff happened with words like moist, yeet, bae, crib and much more. None of this is gen a specific, it jusst feels that way because they're the ones doing it now.

(that made me cringe a lil.).
As a 12 year old gen z, I’ve grown up watching everyone struggle. For some reason they all just kept falling behind. It got even worse after Covid, but life kept moving. People can’t fail entire age groups of life, people must evolve. There has to be changes in curriculums and other things. The main thing that my peers don’t understand tho is that we are in school to not just solve problems but to learn how to solve our own problems outside of school. Gen alpha isn’t doomed neither is late gen z. We are in a time where we have tools like ai and calculators. We are in a time where our problems will get more advanced. We are the future of humanity and not the death of it.
We need more children like you in schools; children that actually might be able to make a change in this doomed world. This is a great mindset, I wish for you a better life then whatever the hell is happening with the "cooked" Gen A's.
Im an 18 year old Gen Z. COVID really took a toll on everyone. I only dislike gen alpha because half of them are disrespectful and don't understand boundaries, the ones at my former high school (graduated last week). I don't really blame the kids, moreso the parents. You are entirely correct, we are the future.
I’m a gen alpha and I got an iPad at a young age, but I got lucky because the stuff I was consuming was informative (history, survival skills, world news, etc.) it probably also helps that this was all before skibidi toilet and most of the problems today
Oh, I think that's cool! As long, as you are using an iPad not only for entertainment, but also for education - you'll be fine (I also got an iPad at an early age, so I get you. Tho it was somewhere after the 2010s)
same i also got an iPad at an early age but since we lived at a hotel with no internet all i did was watch a download of a video of mario party until I was older, so it didn’t affect my education, and by the time we moved in to a place with internet, I watched edutainment.

4:35 Personally, I haven’t forgotten, I remember watching those “GeN z Is StUpId” videos, watching videos about dangerous TikTok challenges, and seeing a news report about dangerous UA-cam challenges that were basically just TikTok challenges before TikTok existed. Gen A isn’t doomed, they’re just kids doing what we did when we were their age. Edit: 11:45 I can confirm, I was once an IPad kid and grew up watching mostly UA-cam and listening to music, and I think I turned out alright; admittedly I’m still mostly watching UA-cam and listening to music, just on a phone now.
And a lot of it is nitpicking. My mom remembers a comedy on TV during the 80s going around and asking young people basic questions about American history. And, because he’s a comedian, he only includes the dumb answers in his video. And that’s one of the many reasons why adults back thought 80s kids were doomed, and now history is repeating itself with Gen Z and now Gen A. It’s really disappointing.
Same but when I’m at my dads I put down the phone and go outside or go on adventures with them which is super fun like yes I do spend a lot of time on screens at my moms but my parents are barely home and I don’t live close to any friends so the internet is the only way I can really play with people
I personally use an iPad because it is easier on my eyes, and also because it is easier to draw on it. But I do not think I am addicted or anything like that. I mean, I am way too excited to go to summer break because I can see my grandpa, and do stuff like woodwork with him outside.
"Now that this new progress in children's rights has meant teens live in communes without parents, they're having so many in-person relationships that some don't even _have_ intimate partner chatbots!" "I know! It's so dangerous! What will they be able to turn to when they get dumped?!? I know _I can't_ get through a breakup without already having a bot to fill the void!"
Some gen alphas actually do know how to multiply it’s the kids that don’t understand how to because math can be confusing especially multiplication. Everyone doesn’t know everything especially the generations before gen alpha.Since im a gen alpha it hurts to see mean videos about gen alphas.
So about the calculator thing you talked about, teachers say „you won’t always have a calculator“ But the thing is even if you have a calculator, if don’t know the basics of multiplication from 1x1 to 10x10, then solving math problems gets really hard. Now one might say that people that actually need to solve those problems are only a small percentage, but if you learn these tables late in your life, it gets much harder then compared to younger ones. So although I partially agree with this statement, basic math like the multiplication tables should still be taught in class in my opinion.
Thank you. I've tried to explain this to people, but apparently I'm not good at getting my point across. You've explained this perfectly. Yeah, technology can help aid us, but why not teach kids the skill so that they can have an easier time doing it in their heads rather than getting their phone out every time? Why purposefully make life hard for kids by depriving them of skills? Isn't it nice when we just know it right away and don't need to get our device out every time? I think that people who grew up with a proper education take these math or reading skills for granted, thinking, "We have text to speech and calculators, so what's the point?" But who wants to live a life where they need to use technology just to read a sign or to figure out that three rows of 25 is 75? That sounds inconvenient at best. We use these "useless" skills every day and yet say, "Haha we didn't need to learn this, since we have all this technology today!" It's easy to say that it doesn't matter when you yourself had the privilege of having adults who actually care about you and your future enough to teach you these skills to make your life easier.
@@mynameisreallycool1the time saved from memorising multiplication can be used for something else, that cannot be solved with a calculator or such, to explore new maths theories and stuff. when u think of it this way, it is rather harder to teach the same amount of things with the same time given. They aren’t learning means they’re learning something greater, if you want all gen Alpha to learn the exact same thing as 10years ago or such, there will be less room for improvement. An example from technology nowadays, would you use a dishwasher? The ones washed by hands take merely more effort and time. The points you hold appears to be that simple things should be known as an ability. I believe washing a dish can be. And I’m sure the meaning of that is the concern of a world without those technology because of independence. But still you see countless people using technologies. Any young human being nowadays be able to live in the wild for a week? Probably not. My point is that the whole thing is like stairs. The old generation gives you the first step of your stairs, and these are asking for the ones on the stairs to walk down, redo. So if you’re sure that the you won’t need to go down the stairs again(referring to situations without a phone or such) go take a step forward so the next generation can reach the higher level. And about somewhere else saying that memorising multiplication gets your IQ up and stuff, I’m sure the school will teach others things that also trains their brains, something harder, better. Accepting any options except for non-relatable things to the topic(idc, who asked, you’re wrong*nothing else*, you are delusional, L bad grammar)
@@eol_koth@eol_koth In a percect world, that's how it should be. Teaching the next generation more and more advanced things, and instead of teaching them how to work a manual transmission car or a vcr, we should be teaching them the newest technologies, and be prepared for future technologies. Except it's not really like that. English, Math, History, etc. Have been essential for decades and decades, and I think it should be for years to come. The problem with today (not just today) is that schools don't really teach us anything important outside of school. I didn't learn how to mow the yard, diagnose why the tv isn't turning on, concept of driving a car, the concept of the responsibilities of living on my own, how to clean, etc etc. I learned a lot of that through videos and articles I've read and watched, and the tasks and knowledge I got from my parents. The essential topics that schools teach us, generally makes us a little smarter and for us to be able to grasp bigger words and concepts, and being able to make more intellectual convetsations and observations. No matter how advanced technology gets, without having a foundation of the esssntial topics, the capability of technological advancedment is limited by the incapability that people would show, if they didn't know how to read, write, and do math.
As a ten year old in gen alpha I hate how everyone is so brain rot and disrespectful. I hate how everyone gets treated because of there generation 😢. It’s just how life works. This video is so true, I’m glad some people recognize all the other generations before us. I also don’t have a phone so…
The thing is most gen alpha can like function normally if there parents bother because my friend group all normal, sometimes we joke and say brain rot but then I've also seen the other, Immature 11:25 end and a 8 year old girl (I'm black and she's white and don't have an n word pass) has said the n word like so many times to me and says she's not racist
"Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it" so real, we acting just like our fathers, and their fathers, and their fathers, and their grandpas, and their great grandparents, and their great great parents, and everyone that came before, and unfortunetly, everyone that will eventually born. Alpha, beta, theta, zeta and any gens that will come.
there were two dudes in my school that are both 17 years old and they were literally saying sigma mewing looksmaxing and other weird stuff im 15 and i dont say that shit
I think it’s cause gen z is currently being cooked already with high depression and anxiety and suicide rates because of social media, and gen alpha is like that x20. I can hardly imagine the global mental health crisis getting any worse, but it seems like they really are doomed in that way.
@@ministayken One time my school dismissed an afterschool event with triple digits amount of participants 30 mins early then kicked them out into the below freezing parking lot to wait for their parents in party outfits. After they had specifically told parents not to come early. And then they had the audacity to ban any participants who weren’t picked up in 15 minutes. And they still didn’t get sued.
As a gen Alpha myself, I have my fears about out generation: Bc of the pandemic, and addiction to screens, ppl have failed to learn basic social skills and bc of formulaic, addicting social media, kids have much less personality I think. This video is comforting for me tho, knowing the same thing prbly occoured with other generations, but mine still scares me a bit
do not confuse and get manipulated into thinking you are not normal because of your age it is disgusting how the internet makes propoganda about how all children are doomed , yet 7 years ago gen z had mlg stuff and its mainly the fault of parents lack of responsibility and discipline
I hate our generation(gen alpha). It is so annoying hearing about skibidi toilet, I hate iPad kids, and at least I can recognize that I am spoiled, but I don’t have a phone , and I actually touch grass
I just feel down a rabbit hole of watching videos like "Gen Z and Alpha will ruin the world" and all that stuff, but this video, this video really changed my perspective. As a person born on the verge of Gen Z I can really say I've felt the influence of both Gen Z and Gen Alpha. I myself sometimes think of my peers and me as braindead and how we're gonna ruin the world. And when I clicked on this video I just thought it's gonna be another rent about us, but when I got the point I couldn't help but smile. I feel like we always put too much presure onto new gens, without looking back at how that influenced us when we were a new gen. And we never consider how almost every gen has had it's problems and things they thought will ruin the world. Now I really have hope in Gen Z parents and I feel like we'll do a great job in balancing "gentle parenting" and "traditional" parenting. Maybe after all, every generation before us felt like they won't do a good job in raising kids or just generally building a functioning society. I'm well aware humanity has to come to an end but this made me feel a bit more sure that it won't be my gen whos gonna ruin the world and allat. PS. Sorry for any gramatical or other mistakes, english isn't my first language.
Wow, thank you for your insightful comment, don't apologize about your grammar, it's better than most people! Hope you can give the video a like so more people can watch it and get a positive perspective on newer generations.
Idc what others say I rly dont I am repsectful (my parents taught me well), I only have A's and B's in school, I dont get in trouble. No to metion I love learning and try my hardest NOT to watch brainrot. What people dont realise is that there are several kids that could teach a thing or two to rude adults. I am not saying you should think you're better than your elders, BUT elders should not think they are better than children. We are ALL humans, and if we could just respect each other, this would be a better world.
@@bofangchang i also saw one “gen a is doomed” youtubers video that contained a clip of a kid acting out, but the thing was that the video was actually staged and the yter knew that but decided to put that in his vid anyway because he wanted to fuel his own bias💀
As a 2009 Gen-Z kid (14), I agree, It's impossible to tell how they will develop, they are still kids after. They still have time to mature before they're objectively "doomed".
Every time someone talks about kids these days, I will show them this video. I think your style is perfect for this kind of video, the kind where you have a well-reasoned and slow explanation about a question that most people seem to not really think about. I can see this channel really taking off, and just like how the croissant is now an international breakfast staple, I think this could become an internationally known channel!
Were saying that Gen alpha is ‘cooked’ because of their screen time and bad behaviour but i have one question, who raised them? Who invented skibidi toilet? Who invented the internet? Who is giving them to much screen time? The answer to most of those questions is Gen z. I am not here to offend Gen z and to prove that i can say I’m part of Gen z, but each generation creates the next.
The answer to most of those questions is gen y rather than gen z, since gen z is 27-12 and the average age of having your first child is 31, meaning most of the problems are caused by millennials not knowing how to discipline their kids.
Tbh idk if it'd really even be fair to blame the guy behind Skibidi Toilet because that series has been getting kinda interesting lol, and I say this as gen z
Gen Z is probably the best generation, and I'm a Gen Alpha, so I can say that without bias. Gen Alpha sucks. My peers either behave somewhat decently or downright terrible. And Gen Z... They can not be blamed for the older generation's faults. I believe that Gen Z is the best generation because they have a much better understanding of computers, making them more efficient since most things can be done online. And Gen Z's have just the right balance of humor and seriousness, where most of them know how to take a joke and make one (Unlike older generations, mainly boomers), but still can take things seriously.
The idea is that the child should have some sense of boredom and once in a while pick up a book. Gen alpha doesn’t have that, although I guess u can’t force responsibility with one’s health and hygiene upon an 8 yr old.
The argument of "you have always have a calculator" is a lie, belive phones don’t have infinite battery and you can't use always, go do a vestibular here in Brazil your phone can't pass the security
This is a real issue though since it takes so much longer to put things into a calculator for every time you need to multiply in later maths. Plus non-calc papers are absolutely still a thing
Parents give their kids smartphones, tablets, consoles even before they are able to say a sentence and everyone blames generation, not the poor parenting :/ Sure as a kid I loved TV, but my parents used to control time I spent on watching TV and playing video games.
Idk, I had unlimited time for an iPad and a computer, when I was a kid (I'm 19 now). However, I wouldn't say it affected me negatively. My parents were always ready to support and listen to me, mb that's why. In my case, I had no restrictions, and I'm happy about it.
That's the reality of all this shit, fearmongering. 80s and 90s kids complained about the Disney teen stuff from the 00s, their parents complained about Pokemon and Power Rangers and their kids' music and now, the 00s kids that went bad and the Gen X kids that went bad are whinging about wokeness and the "destruction of childhood", claiming how they're gonna give their kids THEIR outdated upbringing. How they're gonna give them "traditional discipline" (child abuse to you and me.), restrict what their kid sees on TV to THEIR shows and movies and teach them marriage through the bible to save their "innocence." It's actually sad.
dude seriously, i'm very glad to see someone who knows traditional "parenting" can be STRAIGHT UP child abuse, yes they might grow as strong civilians that contribute to society and have alot of virtues, but there's also going to be others who will have unattended traumas that will become a problem on others, raise the child you've got, not the one you want.
You are 100% correct! I think another point that can be made is that Gen z has a lot of online trauma. I think we're just scared gen A is experiencing the same thing when it could have been avoided... I guess we'll have to do better for Gen B huh?
I'm so sorry. Yeah it's tough and something I too deal with till this day. We gotta change things up before we get kids, if we even decide to have them. 😊@@1_DMAY
I doubt that we're gonna do better. Based on the many people my age who excuse their gen x parents' neglectful parenting and how many of us think it's normal not "not neglect", I don't have much hope that our generation will avoid these parenting habits. Clearly a lot of us don't seem to understand that it's a real issue. But only time will tell.
@@mynameisreallycool1 I think we will do better due to the barrier to entry as a parent. Those who want it would probably r e a l l y want it and won't take it for granted when they get it
As a Gen Alpha myself this is so correct all my school classmates have no brains it’s all that skibidi crap I hate it I hate all that brainrot I’m just glad I have a brain this generation is doomed
About the times tables thing, it is important for everyone to learn the basics before moving on to other advanced things. You must learn to walk before you run, you must learn to write before you type and here, you must learn to multiply and do basic math and mental math before using calculators and other tools.
It’s instrumental to proper brain development and helps you in your ability to conceptualise stuff. It’s not just being done because before we didn’t have the tech to do it for us.
Yeah. He really missed the mark by trying to compare it to learning cursive. Cursive writing can be seen as a style of language. No different than selecting what font you type with. Multiplication though is basic math and basic math is one of the very foundational pillars on which all of our society is formed. How is someone who can't do basic math going to ever be able to do calculus, engineering, or even middle-school level algebra? It's putting a ceiling on them at a very young age. Someone that doesn't ever even learn how to multiply is very unlikely to ever go on to do anything more than menial labor, at best.
Yeah, finally someone who says this. Multiplication and basic arithmatic is a basic life skill. Although you have tools that help you in the future, you still need to type the parameters
16:36 I'm Gen Z and we were taught cursive in 3rd grade with this workbook. After completing it about halfway through the year, we were told that we were expected to only use cursive in school from then on out. They held us to that for the rest of the year, and about half of the time in fourth grade. After that, nobody cared and it's never been brought up again. Seriously though, I will say that older people care about cursive way too much. It's literally writing in a different font. It's not better for one's development or writing skills, and people have been writing in print since the dawn of written language. Cursive is just a fad that became popular in the 1700s.
You're wrong on many levels. First, cursive is not a fad, since it has been used since the XVI century (see Leonardo da Vinci's signature); second, it has been invented in the Renaissance, when literate people began writing more about their ideas instead of quoting others', and the flowing cursive (it means just this, "flowing") allowed the thoughts to be put on the page with no pauses; third, once you learn it, it's faster than writing in print!
cursive isn't a fad, but i'd agree with it being niche. It's pretty much optimized for fast writing and, for some people who do need the speed, be it because they need to take notes on a very fast paced class or they just like writing fast, cursive is indeed a better method of writing than just writing letter by letter because you don't have to lift your pen. Hell, you can even develop your own kind of cursive, as long as it doesn't imply lifting your pen you're good to go.
As Gen Z as well, I remember being taught in 3rd grade, and it wasn't ever used again... until now it comes in handy for looking nice when it comes to signatures for any important document/bank checks.
It's not the kid's living in the world these days fault for how they are growing up. We should be more on to the parents. Parents is what makes kids the way they are. Parents bought those kids PHONES and Ipads to have access to the internet to. Kids dont have respect because parents arent teaching them manners. Kids these days are spoiled by their parents. It's all about the parents who we all should be onto. No matter what Generation you were born in, you will always be hated on and then you hate the other. So even if Gen Alpha is getting bullied by Gen Z, Gen Beta will be hated by Gen Alpha in the next 10 years. Edit: We need to make a plan for Gen Beta and raise them better than Gen Alpha. Don't let me down.
9:24 my 5 year old brother knows how to multiply, subtracks and any basic operation, speaks 3 languages and has really good speech. I'am soo proud of my brother 🗿
One thing that I think, especially with the section about every generation being bad for creating the world for gem alpha, is that we can all agree; fuck dafuk boom
10:07 Yes, although this is true, you oversimplified the multiplication thing too much. It is not about calculating, it is about HOW you do it, so for example, gen A will not know how to do algebra with a calculator or chatgpt because they simply do not know what to type, and even if they do know what they were typing, gen A will not know how chatgpt arrived at this answer.
The thing I don't understand is why most people seem to be blinded by nostalgia and see the past through rose-tinted glasses and why I and so few others are not. I knew the correct answer to the question in the title was a resounding "NO" before I started watching this video.
@@RegiArt7 I guess there might be a few minor things that I remember that might have been better in the past, but that sure as hell doesn't mean I wish it was still the 90s, for example. I hated being a child and a teenager. So, yes, I am immune to the sickness of nostalgia that seems to have gripped most people.
We CAN’T be arguing about Gen alpha being the most hated generation, it has all started since electronics were made since. And yes, we can never talk about WHO is the last true generation.
This is what i was thinking. The pandemic impacting not just the econemy and education speaks to how disease runs history. This proves Jared Dimond's theory in Guns, Germs, and Steel that diseases are a major determinent in history.
As a gen alpha 2 year old, I am extremely disappointed that previous generations continue to shame gen alpha for a select group of gen alphas. I am disgusted that a small group of us are representing the whole generation. Every day after preschool, I go to my preschool friend Jimmy Neutron's house. His brother always says that all I like is "skibidi grimace gyatt". Even though I am disgusted at the behavior of older generations, I somewhat understand it. Some of my fellow 2 year olds are examples of this, watching skibidi toilet all day.
Aren't we just repeating what other people are thinking? This is a repetion, of negativity after negativity... when does that end? We need to stop it so that everyone can change. Don't just look at the negative but positive as well. Do you agree?
As a Gen Alpha (I’m thirteen to be specific, so on the older end), It does kinda hurt seeing four, six, seven, ten year olds even have screen time longer than sleep time. But at the same time I don’t want to get mad at the parents because I know, especially for the working class and single parents, that they have a million other things to do all to ensure their family has a roof over their head and food on the table and because of that simply don’t have time to give their child all the attention they need. So for them an IPAD is a get out of jail free card. Nonetheless I have still have faith that this is just another case of older generation complains about younger generation and certain skills losing importance
Erm am I the only one that sees kids outside ALL the time I bit to much actually? There are literally kids always at the park and they aren’t on their iPads screaming skibkidi or rizzler but running and singing some Disney songs like we don’t talk about burno and when it’s time to go inside they cry… as a gen z cusping off of gen A who grew up as an “iPad kids .” Of whatever I think it’s more of a trend of hate on gen alpha and call then ipad kids than the actual truth but idk 🤷🏾♀️
SO TRUE , I’m a Gen Alpha and I like to play outside at the park SOOO MUCH and when I have to go home , I will be like “NOOO I DON’T WANNA GO HOME YET I STILL WANNA PLAY WITH MY YOUNGER NEIGHBORS SEE THEY’RE STILL PLAYING”
The multiplication is still useful, because if you're at the store and buy 6 products, each costing 3.99 (aka 4 dollars), you first need to get your phone out, unlock and then type it in. Costs 5-10 seconds you waste, and that is actually dangerous, because staring at your phone while moving is a leading cause of accidents.
9:19 My trauma... Since primary school I was almost always been complained how I can't do "basic" or "easy" things in school subjects. Saying like I'm "stupid" and that I'll "never pass the exam to enter into university". I'm just a student who needed more time to understand the subject when others...
I just barely fall into Gen Alpha and despite never really being taught anything by my parents I learned how to speak english and some german all by myself. And no I am not from the US or Bri'ish terrotories. Also cursive is a problem in the US since in Europe everyone knows cursive.
I’m Gen Z. I had a Tablet at a young age, I only used it for games like angry bird RIO Crossy road and sprinkle. If I wanted to watch something I watched the TV. My life was like that for 5 years. Not all iPad kids were Gen A, like I said I was kind of an iPad kid for 5 years.

Reading books is 🔥
I certainly don’t plan on getting married.
John and Abigail Marston bemoaning their son, Jack, in Red Dead Redemption comes to mind.
I see this fact and double it. There are actual accounts of romans saying: “oh back in my day we just looked at the sun but now these new kids with their “sundials” cruelly splitting up my day. Society is ruined!”
in 1815 parents were complaining about kids using paper in schools instead of writing on a slate with chalk
I really hate how we're blaming the victim (Gen Alpha) and not those who invented the souless corporate social media or the parents who can't be bothered to put up with their child
Yeah that jus' doesn't make sense
So your blaming the previous generation even tho they are also just a product of their parent’s just like us… maybe instead of blaming try to improve

Generations weren't a thing before 1883, this is why you don't want to use 1995-2009 to define Gen Z because it's innacurate and only for aesthetics

what the sigma
Humanity hasn’t destroyed itself yet.

As a Gen Alpha,
I’m frankly really annoyed by these stereotypes.

One things for sure: We have to break the cycle of crapping on the younger generation. GenAlpha was brought into a world of technology, not by choice, but by force. If that has affected them, they are the last people to point the finger at.
True
so the parents who introduced the technology to them are to blame, and the parents would be, millenials
@@QuackersMcCrackers so no one raised ipad kids
Finally someone pointed out the obvious...

I had a very high tech family, and when I was a kid I got a 1st gen iPad to play with. The thing is, it would stay at home ALLWAYS and i would have to ask my parents to use it.

Same. I have amazing parents

Some gen alphas actually do know how to multiply it’s the kids that don’t understand how to because math can be confusing especially multiplication. Everyone doesn’t know everything especially the generations before gen alpha.Since im a gen alpha it hurts to see mean videos about
gen alphas.
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! MATH IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE AN ESSENTIAL SKILL!
@@mynameisreallycool1 Exactly.

@@magicplays4670 even so, it still proves my point

As someone in between gen z and gen alpha, the same thing happened to us
You're wrong on many levels.
Wait you were taught cursive with a book with Dwayne Johnson on it? Sick!

@@Elizabeth-dm7dr I was like that
I just barely fall into Gen Alpha and despite never really being taught anything by my parents I learned how to speak english and some german all by myself.
Not all iPad kids were Gen A, like I said I was kind of an iPad kid for 5 years.
dang this really touched me like everything you said I completely agree with cant wait to see what else you come out with!
Thank you man!
