One of our dreams is to do a tiny house for our special needs daughter on our property. This looks like a good option for that. We just need to keep saving.
That is a great idea! I was thinking we would need to convert our basement into a “in-law” apt for our son but the little house or shed would be a great option also.
The only thing I did in mine different and don't understand why more people don't is put the outlets higher than standard. Eliminates a lot of cable hang and those short cables can be used. Plus Drywall seams should be staggered (done this for 30 years) makes the wall stronger. Great job!
Great video, congrats. Did you have to go through the Building Code/Permits/Inspection process? In my area, we need a 10ft rear boundary and 5ft side boundary distance but yours looks right up against the fence.
I’m in the Pacific Northwest and am in the process of converting my 200sq ft Tuff Shed into an office space. The ceiling has the radiant vapor barrier like yours. Drywall and insulation contractors won’t touch the ceiling because of that vapor barrier and ventilation. Two have told me that baffles are required (which is an easy fix) but with 2x4s and the studs being 24” on center, that won’t leave much room for fiberglass insulation. The other problem I’ve learned after loads of research and talking to insulators is that insulating over the vapor barrier will 1. negate the function and efficiency of the barrier, and 2. create the perfect trap for excessive heat and moisture which eventually leads to all the problems. So, I’m curious about your ceiling insulation, are there baffles? Either way, how are you keeping the airflow between the vapor barrier and the insulation circulating? Have you noticed any issues yet now that you’re over a year in? (PS: I can’t get Tuff Shed to give me any answers about the ceiling and insulation, so any advice you have is great!!)
I am also in the Pacific Northwest with a TuffShed. Ours is the same size as the one in the video. I opted for the ridge vent. To make sure I still had airflow I used foam insulation taped to the faces of the rafters, leaving an inch space between the insulation and the inside of the roof sheathing for airflow. The air intake is via the eaves. I can draw you a diagram if you like, or share some photos. We've had ours insulated and sheathed in gypsum board now for almost two years through two winters and it's been great.
Walls & roof definitely need to be able to breathe. This shed is going to eventually grow mold in the walls and have moisture issues from heating & cooling.
That is absolutely incredible & what a dream for a content creator. I never thought about doing something like that but what an amazing idea to keep in mind. Our yard is a decent size so I would love to do something like that one day. Would also love to see a full tour of the place!
I am hoping to buy a house and then put a tuff shed in the back for drums as well. What is the dimensions of your backyard? The backyard of the house I'm looking at isn't that big either but I want to compare with yours and how you put a 12X16 shed in it.
Looks fantastic! The spiral stair case is really cool who makes that? I'm building a tough shed as well, 16 x 26 it's big. Anyway I'm really interested in which stairs you purchased thanks!
Ive been wanting to do this and build a yoga studio/office. Did you go with the standard size that didnt require a permit? Do you mind me asking round about your total cost to build it out etc? Looks great!
It didn't look like you put up vapor barrier over the Insulation and before the SheetRock, but it looks like you are in a cold climate. Are you not concerned about vapor build up?
Good morning! Enjoyed the video. Do have one question, but did a project like this require any permits? I’m considering something like this for my studio. It’s either this or a partial garage conversion haha. Studio looks great!
It looks like you didn't get to insulate the floor, how has that worked out? I'm doing something very similar and am trying to figure out how to get some insulation under the LVP.
@@OurZRoll awesome. I'm having spray insulation put in a couple of weeks from now, but i have some electrical work to do before that. This gives me hope that I won't be freezing come January!
Wow! You guys did a great job on the interior of the shed! You know what is even better? The way your wife looks at you. The look of love!
The way you look at each other. ❤

This is the plan for our special needs son as well, and then my other 2 kiddos decided that they needed one too 😆

Drum Set in the loft with tiny rafters.... Only young people would miss this face. The neighbors are going to LOVE YOU.
It nice, great work.
Hahaha! YES! I'm glad I'm not the only one! 😂
We had Tuff Shed build in our back yard and built a studio 28 years ago. It is still being used for recording everyday.
I had a 12x16 in my last home and loved it so much my new one is coming in a week at me new house.Tuff Shed is everything! Congrats!
Right on! Yay! Congrats to you as well!!
does ac need 220volts? and do we need permit for power hook up?

It was worth all the steps to get it done! Looks great! Have a great weekend.
Great make over! Do your neighbors complain about your drumming? Trying to figure out if this is a viable option for a subdivision. Thanks!
Looks awesome!!! What are the dimensions of the shed?
