    I want to purchase a table top ironing board but a decent cover is almost as much money.

    My old cover is so sad and worn I came on line to find one to buy. I am SO glad I found your video, because I have all of the materials, and I am going to make one for myself this afternoon! Don't ask me why I didn't think of this in the first place! You've made it so easy. Many thanks for the great video!

    I made this today and it came out great. I like it better than the store bought ones that have the string. Thanks. Great job.

    If you intend to remove the cover and launder, periodically, wash the fabric to shrink it before making the cover.

    Thank you it was really helpful for me to sew the ironing board cover. My seeing machine gives me trouble if using thick fabrics. Which one is good for all the sewing projects. Can u advice please

    Would it not be easier to sew the elastic on to the cover directly? And also the padding--it would move around less?

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  3 роки тому +2

      You don't want to sew the elastic to the cover because it will be hard to ensure that the cover is snug on the board. Also, over time, you are going to want to be able to get back into there and sew the elastic slightly tighter as it will likely stretch out a little bit every couple of years.

    great video.. pls show me how to put in batting thank uuuuuu

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  8 років тому +1

      +Maria Goumas Before you put on the cover for the final time, cut the batting so that it's the same size as the ironing board. Then you can put the cover on over the batting. You do not need to attach the batting because the cover will hold it in place.

    seems easy easy enough.
    I have a Costco ironing board I love because it is sooo adjustable but after 5 years its gotten pretty dingy. I took the cover off to wash it but, found care instructions say only spot clean and do not actually wash it. Its headed for the trash!

    Won’t the color of darker colors bleed?

      Always pre wash your fabric so you don't have to worry about color bleeding.

      You could use a towel or something that thick. Make sure it is 100% cotton though.
