don't have the money to buy the rode anyways i was just cheking to see what i'm missing out , the single-channel on boya sounds kinda awful , if one person sneezes while your recordoing two people , there is no way you can fix that , what's your opinion on BOYA BY-XM6-S2 or the mini version .
Was Boya single channel actually? I genuinely do not even remember. 😀 Well, I only know as much as when I start buying new gadget then I will find out what is the best version of the most suitable which I can afford. I buy it and after that I do not follow gadgetry so closely until something organically comes my way or I am interested in something again. I just found out from you that this kind of Boya device now exists.
I think the Boya XM6 is the competitor of Rode wireless Go. The WM4 is leaning to a endurance option for recording since it can continuously record for more than 10hours. It also use AAA battery, unpackable battery which both the wireless Go and XM6 dont have, you can replace it and start to recording again immediately, no time need to recharge, if you concern about the environment, use the rechargeable battery like Panasonic eneloop battery.
Thank you for commenting and on-topic input. What comes to the models, the Boya is what I got offered 2nd hand and that is the reason I had this set in the first place. Rode was just what I wanted all the time but I could not justify the 300€ price tag for myself before trying out how it is to use something like this in general. So, because of that the comparison was not based on specifications but I just happened to own and use these. About the battery usage, I pointed that out in the video too that it can either be a plus or a minus depending on how one percieves it. Replaceable AAA battery option is good for extended usage as you point out but in 2022, who wants to carry a pile of batteries with them (at least for personal use). As for me, I am not buying one time use batteries for the longest already and I have a little stash of rechargeable AAs/AAAs for all my devices which could require these.
not many people have a review video this thorough, nice job
Thank you for the good vibes.
I hope it was helpful.

Can the Boya be used with a Dslr or mirrorless camera?
