I used to have a 200 sx road legal that was mint but now got a 450 exc for enduro and 525 exc for supermoto much less maintenance than the 2 strokes, my 450 is still on same bottom end at around engine 500 hours and only changed piston at 250 hours for peace of mind! Great bikes

Hello mate I've got a YZ125 myself thats all road legal. I was just wondering what sprockets you've got on the front and back teeth wise. Mine seems geared a bit too low atm for long stretches of road is all. Yours seems just about perfect just chilling at 45.

Get 14-45 is the most fun for the little 125s

Seems to go a bit like my old Yamaha DT 175, could hit 80 mph on a good day but realistically between 70 to 75.
I think that at higher speeds than that on those old knobbly tyres are the old drum brakes wouldn't be very safe, but would love to own one now and turn it into a supermoto, I know it would be a fun bike.
I had 1 got stole kept up to these and 250 n 300 exc had super motos on was fast up jetted tuned in was good had 6nhalf in it
So cool. I wish these weren't so expensive, I'm uk based aswell, right now looking for a dirt bike and a 125 road bike. Thinking yamaha but these things are so sick.
Thank you mate , the prices with the added mods brings the prices right up but u can get an older model then road legalise it and just save for parts in ur own time . If you want both those kinds of bikes then put all the cash together and just buy the Ktm u can then have both a road and an off road bike . Yamahas are brilliant bikes ! Guessing u was looking at the wr?
@Supermoto_Build_ that could be an idea, two bikes for the price of one 🤔🤔 really like you said you just need to know where to look. And yes! I've ridden a wr pretty heavily off road before, awesome bike, but ktm might top it...

How are you finding the engine to last whilst using it on the road, I have a 125sx myself and only used for the tacks, just considered getting on the road but for enduro. As I live nearer to Syston and there's some good country out that way.
Web just been out today and Iv got the lectron carb crispy ! the engine is fine mate just do you’re regular oil changes and the usual stuff you would do after each ride on the track it will last mate. Iv had only one problem with the engine when I first installed the lectron carb and seized the piston 🤦♂️ but since that haven’t had any problems... also I run it a little richer due to the long roads etc .
Brilliant, thanks for the advice, I recently related the bore and had a wossner forged piston installed and didn't want it to be all for nothing, thanks again bud.

what gearing do you recommend for an 85 on road?
I’m looking at getting ktm xcw 125 fully road registered or Yamaha wr125R but I’m more driven towards the ktm tbh what you reckon
10000000 percent get the ktm ! Much quicker , much more sexy looking, modified easier, power is double on a ktm … last but not least, who doesn’t love a ktm 🤷♂️ haha.
@@SupermotoBuild cheers man think o will tbh it’s only two grand more for the ktm. But the only think the ktm doesn’t have is led indicators I’ll have see what ones are compatible. Keep the videos coming just sub to you aswell mate.

It’s on iPhone matey “speedometer” there’s a few free versions and then there’s a few that’s paid which do work brilliant and have maps on it aswell.

The bike cost me £3500 that’s with COVID tax lol bikes are priced crazy at the minute 🤦♂️

U can register many dirt bikes mate . It’s abit long to write but here goes:
Send off for a v55/5 from www.gov.uk
Fill it in with ur vin and other things (there’s a video on UA-cam on how to fill it in)
Make sure u have road legal tyres , a horn (mega horn from Amazon), rear reflector.
Ring redline motorcycle and ask for a certificate of newness (cost £100)
Take the motorbike to a an MOT station and get an mot on the frame number.
Take the cert of newness with u.
Get insurance on the vin number after u have an mot (Bikesure insures on the vin)
Send off the v55/5 the mot certificate, the certificate of newness, the insurance cover note, and £75 postal check for the first registration and tax for the year, also send in proof of address and you’re license or passport (has to be the original card or passport , not a paper counterpart) once all this is in an envelope you send it to dvla Swansea and wait for them to register it . They’ll send you’re passport or driving license back in the post. Then u have to wait 4-6 weeks (probably longer with COVID) and then hey prestoooo u got a road legal mx bike

Just changed the sprockets for better top and and richened the mixture. Iv turned it into a supermoto with road tyres too much better for the road

Can this be used on a cbt
Legally mate no as the power is roughly 37 bhp and the limit on a cbt is 15 if I remember correctly. I’m on a cbt tho mate insured and everything police never questioned me and iv been stopped a few times for different reasons. It’s just about taking the risk of an accident as the insurer could decline it.
How long can it go without needing fuel again
Depends how u ride mate , if ur on the pipe constantly u get about 25 mile 😬

@@CarN4tion it was an 8L tank but Iv upgraded to a 12.5L I get a lot more juice in there now and also the 8L I got it wrong I’d get at least 35-40 mile from it riding to road conditions 👀 😇 haha
@@hubertkam7647 Iv got the trail tech installed now mate so il have a much better & accurate reading . I’m probably wayyyy off with the mpg 😂
How often you gotta re build this?
I’m on 60hrs atm with the piston and I recently changed the bottom end from the previous owner (he didn’t have an hour meter fitted so I couldn’t see the hours) . Il be checking the up and down play on the crank every 30 hours same with the piston just to make sure everything is ok . Il be changing the piston this week once the piston arrives. This probably didn’t help much 🙏 but they’ll be a lot more online to help with maintenance .

@@SupermotoBuild i have 13 front and 50 back at the moment and my top speed is about 65-70 km/h which is too low and tiring for me! i wanna go enduro and at the parts where there is tarmac i cant keep up, so thanks a lot mate!! have fun!

@@SupermotoBuild i was thinking on changing my front from 13 to 14 maybe (since its cheaper thatn the rear) but im afraid it might not fit..
@@mrdeadpool4177 some bikes aren’t able to fit the 14 , it’s deffo the easier and cheaper option . But going up on the front by 1 it only bring it down roughly by 2 or 3 . It could work for u every body is different , trial and error brother 🙌
