It's by far my favorite poncho pattern. And....I wore it to coffee at my friend's house this morning and I got a commission for a Christmas gift! Thank you for this lovely pattern!

Add more rows to make it the same size.

Beautiful pattern. Thanks for explaining so nicely. Excellent
My pleasure 😊
Thank you for this video, it is really educational! Your explanations and camera position are excellent. I also appreciated how you repeat and go back to show again each movement. I am a beginner, and at first you need to see things several times to understand and get the idea. I also liked it that you are not in a hurry.

Hi and thank you for this pattern my gran knitted me a Poncho when I was young but It was passed here there and everywhere so now it's nowhere to be found The pattern is very similar so I am hoping I will be able to do it. I have got mixed up the pattern doesn't give how many inches to do for bigger sizes just measurement. I am confused so will watch it all the way through so I am able to find the number i need. Thank you for this xxxx
I love your work, your instructions are really clear and i am really enjoying working the patterns... Thank you 😊
Thanks so much 😊
Hello, any suggestions on how I could add a cowl neck of some sort to it? I was thinking of single crochet around the neck for several rounds but that might just sound good in theory. ??? I’m making it for my toddler niece for warmth in her car seat.
I haven't tried adding one to this type of ponchos. You can try front post, back post stitches for ribbing.
Thanks a lot for the video 🎉❤🎉
I love this pattern! When I grabbed the Caron yarn, I grabbed the skinny cakes with a 3 weight instead by accident. How would that differ in stitch count for a L/XL pattern? Or would I just make sure my measurements are the same as the pattern by adding rows? Thank you so much!
Just make sure the measurements are the same as my pattern.
Great tutorial. Thank you. I was wondering if I use a finer yarn with 4mm hook and work 2XL/3XL will it turn out ok or the poncho will flatten out due the thinner yarn.
Yes, I feel thinner yarn may not hold the shape well.
@@crochetdreamz Thank you.
Hi. I am struggling with the measurements. I cast on the correct amount of 142 stitches, worked the 16in but have 15 3 chain loops on back panel foundation row instead of 19 and my rectangle measures 26in instead of 28 across, not sure why as I have followed instructions correctly. Will this matter to the end result, can I continue as is?
Mmm, did you try to spread it out well and then take measurements?
Very good pattern. Thanks
Thank you too
I’ve started making this lovely shawl, I’m making the larger size so for the turning part where you sc 49 sts shall I crochet more sc?
You can find the bigger sizes on my blog here: crochetdreamz.com/pattern-for-crochet-poncho/
This is sooo great. I just bought the yarn and I am very anxious to start this project. You chain 142 for a S/M size but could you tell me how many would you chain for a L size, please?
You can find the free written pattern with the bigger size here:crochetdreamz.com/pattern-for-crochet-poncho/
Thanks for this video! I can't wait to start working on my own poncho. I wish I can find the same color though. Do you have a link where we can buy this yarn?
It shows the brand and name at the beginning of the video
thank you. You are a very good, clear teacher. Im not using Carin cakes but another #4 worsted weight yarn. How many rows in total? I need to know when to change my yarn color. Thanks
That entirely depends on how you want the stripes to look.
I want to replicate the stripe width in your poncho. How many rows per color?
Amazing. Thx
Glad you like it!
I subscribed this channel 😘
This is beautiful and such a great tutorial! Thank you for sharing! Would you mind sharing how to add the ties (for a bow) to the poncho like on the smaller blue one at the beginning of the video please?
Make a long chain.
Lace the chain around the neck, going in and out a little below the sc row.
Make 2 pom-poms and tie it onto the edges of the chain tie. Trim the remaining tail to match the length of the pom pom strands.
Beatiful
Thank you. I am glad you like my poncho.
i have caron cotton cakes yarn, is that the same at just caron cakes.
Caron cotton cakes is 100% cotton while regular Caron cakes is acrylic. I have never used Cotton Cakes. If it has good drape, you can use it as a substitute.
Si tuviera texto en español sería genial muy bonito proyecto
Hi there, I bought two skeins of Caron Cake yarn several months ago but it is not a Category #4 yarn it is a thicker Category #5 yarn considered a chunky yarn. In your pattern instructions a #4 yarn is what is suggested to use to make the Poncho with an I hook or 5.5 hook. Since I already have two #5 skeins of Caron yarn should I go up a size on the hook and use a J hook or should just use an I (5.5) hook like stated in your instructions?
Chunky yarn will make your project bigger, so you will have to adjust the stitch count.
This poncho is beautiful, am attempting it right now, made an error already have to loose part of the work, i got carried away with the tutorial for small n medium i forgot i was aiming for 2xl - 3xl human size. but the instructions are very clear. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your kind words.
Hello. Beautiful patter and easy to follow. However, mine is a bit croquette... Not sure what I did wrong. 🤔😔
Maybe your gauge kept fluctuating. Try blocking it.
@@crochetdreamz thank you for your reply. I am a beginner crocheter, therefore I am not very familiarised with the terminology. I saw your patter and seemed easy and cute... My end result isn't too bad... Thanks.
Do you think I could use cotton yarn to make this? It’s Yarn Bee Sugarwheel cotton solids.
Yes, absolutely. As long as it is the same gauge, you should be fine.
Very beautiful and your instructions are so easy I can see this pattern in my future I just Subscribed and look forward to all your amazing patterns! Thank you
Thanks and welcome
I am IN LOVE. I used Caron Cake Latte in cream and it is Gorgeous! Your written pattern and video are super easy to follow and this is a gift so I can't share a picture but if you have Instagram, let me know and I will share after she receives it.
I am so glad to hear that. I would love to see your poncho. You can tag @crohcetdreamz on Instagram, thank you!
Very well done
Thank you very much!
Hi, can you do another sample of this with a different style crochet stitch? Maybe a yarn saving stitch? Thank you
I will try!
@@crochetdreamz thank you so much! I love it!
Plz tell me ladies poncho me kithe stitches hi
Length v banta plz
Hello! I’m a newbie and trying to follow the pattern from your blog and rewatching this vid several times but i cant seem to get it right. The width of my back panel is not the same with the width of my front so i kept on repeating it but the back part is really smaller in width. I dunno what to do :(
Did you measure it? Sometimes it looks smaller than it actually is. You can try adding more stitches to the first row to make it wider.
@@crochetdreamz yes i did measure it several times to make sure i’m following correctly. Unfortunately i had to frog the whole thing coz it wont really match. Hopefully this time i’ll get it correctly. Thank you for your response, highly appreciated❤️
Thanks 😊
No problem 😊
Thank you I work slow so I would love to have the pattern to work with
You can find the free written pattern here: crochetdreamz.com/pattern-for-crochet-poncho/
I wonder if you have a gauge for the pattern and also the measurements of the poncho because I would like to use a different yarn.
You can find more details on my blog: crochetdreamz.com/pattern-for-crochet-poncho/
This is beautiful Could this shawl be done in a size 1,2 or 3 yarn? And if so, what size hook would I use?
Using a thinner yarn will mess up the sizing IMHO, sorry!
Fabulous pattern, thank you. Could you make the sae lovely poncho WITH a cowl style neck?
Great idea!
Thanks for this tutorial very well explained
You are welcome!
Fantastic pattern! Do you recommend blocking before the panels are attached or after?
You can if you want to
Where is your blog? I was wondering hoe many chanes 4 large?
Here is the link to the written pattern.

Do you have film that show adolt size?
Très beau modèle, mais il me semble que l'on ne travaille pas des mailles serrées mais des brides
Où pourrions nous achetez du fil svp ?
Do you think a hood could be attached to this?
I think it can be done.
Hello! Sorry to bother you, but how many grams would the two skeins be? And for what type of needle would it be recommended? Where I live the measurements you give are not used, so I'm a little confused.
Details of 1 skein:

Contents: 80% Acrylic, 20% Wool
Skein Weight: 7.1 oz./ 200g
Yardage: 383 yd. / 350 m

Qué medida debe tener el rectángulo si soy Size L? Muchas gracias
Would using a size 3 yarn make a huge difference?
It will turn out smaller if you don't chain more.
Thank you!
Gorgeous texture👌
May i know the no. of chain for woman size .
