Love Mr Compress... one of my two favourite with Twice! The despair,😓 most of the top heroes are down probably for good, cause recovery girl always tells them she has limits, the limits of one's own body!
Y'all hit the core of MHA this episode. The challenges to society, the generational hatred and curses, the ideal of what a hero is and the reality of what many people we think are heroes really are. This discussion was SSS-tier. 🔥💯
In term of what the heroes accomplished,
1 - Doctor got apprehended (No more high end Nomu to be made)
2 - Gigantomachia taken
3 - 90-95% High End killed (by Shigaraki & heroes)
4 - Almost all League of Villain incapacitated (only Toga is unhurt)
5 - Making Shigaraki incomplete
Machia getting taken is honestly half of their accomplishment lol
@@REYTRACER each individual high end is pretty close to machia when fully complete so taking out over a dozen is pretty fucking big.

Huge losses on both sides
Mr. Compress’s great great grandfather, Oji Harima, was mentioned back in Season 4 during Gentle’s introduction as one of the three great villains (alongside All For One and Destro) of hero society. Now the Paranormal Liberation Front has three successors to those legendary villains: Shigaraki, Re-Destro, and Mr. Compress.
Honestly Deku's view changing at the end of this episode is because up to this point almost all heroes have always thought stop the villain they're bad get rid of them we don't need them they don't want to be saved they're just bad people... Yet here Deku looks straight into the eyes of the person he's hated the most who's hurt more people dear to him than anyone else yet he sees someone who is clearly suffering and deep down wants to be saved. Deku has never fought a villain up to this point that's given even the slightest hint that they want to be helped so for Deku to see that in Shigaraki... How could Deku not feel conflicted? Deku doesn't deserve any hate over this if anything it shows that Deku's growth emotionally.

Shit I'D 100% want the compress quirk. That's one of the few one hit ko quirks in this entire series.
As long as he can touch you ONCE, it doesn't matter if you're deku or full power shigaraki, it's gg. You're compressed.
So far we've never seen anyone break out of those things of their own free will. It's a way to instantly end all confrontation in non lethal way.
Then of course the travel and stealing convenience is obvious as well.
Top tier quirk in my opinion with very few negatives for its use.

There probably is some kind of limit to how long it works, size of items to compress or how many marbles he can make, but yeah it’s a useful quirk that doesn’t seem to have many obvious downsides.
Was waiting for this episode as I have always been a big fan of Mr.Compress, he's my favorite so to get to see his time in the spotlight animated was amazing along with his face reveal. Loved shsi character from the moment he was introduced. Was always intrigued by his quirk.
FYI: It was explained I believe during *season 5 ep 10* (also in ch 209) when AFO was shown in prison, that they were *in the process of his sentencing* and were also trying to be careful before illiciting his sympathizers following him to act in response.
We see that they do have death row since Moon Fish a villain from season 3, has been sentenced on death row, but who knows how long the death row process is.
In real life it can take some time for the sentencing and action of death row as well after criminals have been apprehended.
Deku has awakened the 4th user’s ability, Danger Sense or you can called it Spider Sense.

I've always loved Mr. Compress. Probably my third favorite "villain" behind Twice and Stain. I like how he is very flamboyant... a showman at every opportunity. And he's modest and willing to play support and bolster those around him. He has an OP quirk too. He took out Lady Midnight and Kaminari and has saved the League's butts countless time, including here. He's probably the most underrated of the villains as far as what he's done for the League's survival.
I think the term for how this battle shook out is "pyrrhic victory". Even though the heroes did technically win, forcing Shigaraki to withdraw, the cost of it makes it feel like a defeat.
Love the discussion guys! Idk if anyone will read this but you'll be happy to know that the heroes WERE trying to kill Shigi in this battle. Endeavor tried to burn him alive several times, for instance. He was just unkillable.

Fair to say this is the biggest L the heroes have ever gotten. The scale of what they lost compared to what they gained is insane. But imagine if this happened with Shigaraki's body complete at 100%... They really would've been screwed
Yeah, this season would've been the last one, and it would've only been 4 episodes long.
The day isn’t over, yet. AFO has an encore planned, and it’s a real show stopper.
The L's in this episode are so big, that I'm sure some will even go and look back at the heroes previous wins and start declaring a lot of those loses too.

They are some threats that cannot be allowed to walk free, I loved that endeavor and the wiser heroes were out to kill shigaraki not capture, him serving was not an option

P.S. Heroes lost this one. They set out to totally neutralize the villains and Shigaraki and instead, the best they could do was take out some of the villains, awaken Shigaraki early, and beat him up badly (but failed to capture/kill him). Their primary objective (to end Shigaraki) was one big fail.
So... yeah
I honestly don't know what we can do with the people. So many things have been revealed, so many people have lost everything. Their homes, their lives, their faith in us. Many of us fought bravely, some of us perished trying. But in the end,... we failed and we lost Shigaraki. All we can do now is healing, then just work something. And for goodness sake Mirio can permeate stop panicking.

where are they getting these random stats from. we only captured the doctor? what about the sleeping machia they left him behind, they broke apart the liberation army so their disjointed and captured plenty members, they stopped shigaraki from being fully completed, most of the nomu are dead except the ones that just escaped and without the doctor they cant make more, so yeah they did accomplish some things and messed up the villains but the collateral damage definitely went beyond their expectations. and only 1/3 of the counrty is left? what? when was that ever stated? girl u must think japan is super tiny. if this destroyed 2/3 of the nation then all for one and all might and deka city plus some other major events would have wiped out the other 1/3. welp shit guess theres no nation left everyone is dead society is already done lol. there was a lot of destruction but not 2/3's of the country
