I can’t believe you are still protecting your plants from cold temperatures at this time of year! Unfortunately, I lost one of my oldest bonsai this summer, a collected white pine. Life got stressful, and I didn’t keep a close eye during a heat wave. Take this as a PSA to everyone, it is a lifelong commitment.
I keep white pines they really really need to be in native aoil it helps with correct moisture. They hate being wett but hate being too dry but love being a little dry...and holy shit they are fussy
@@rosshopkins2063 I remember looking at it from a distance the day before and thinking "it looks so happy". I had a lapse of judgement and didn't check the soil moisture, assuming it would be fine for another couple days without water. It was growing in a really small amount of soil, which was the main reason it got too dry. I have one more white pine that would make a great literati someday, wish me luck!
Man it's so hot here...
I'm having to water 3 times a day
Sorry to hear that
i would have left the last cut in place coz the right side of the tree is kinda vertical, but except that would have done the same :) nice tree nigel, my bob ross bonsai guy 🥰
Very nice Nigel...Great narrative concerning your decision making process...Each video contains a new nugget of information to be tucked away...Thanks again for all you time, effort, and sharing...
Beautiful tree, masterful work Nigel. For some reason you adding the 'Soul Sista' figurine makes me like you more.
PLEASE. Try the prickly pear cactus. Just wear gloves, nitrile. I have never been stuck wearing the gloves. They will grow great for you as a bonsai. I will have to show you mine that is over ten years old on a video update. They over winter great in the basement for me. Just do not water them all winter long. They will go dormant, but they will come back. Go for it. Not hard. You can do it. I grow mine in a milk crate and I wear long sleeves to take it out in spring and to bring it in for the cold fall months. You have great talent and it will do great for you.
I need to go bonsai pot shopping with you. Because you have amazing round pots..
I've got a Brazilian Raintree forest and a single. I live on the Texas Coast and the summers get super hot and the sun gets super intense during July, August and September. As long as I keep the trees well watered, they seem to love the heat and sun. Anyway, just a thought.
Absolutely beautiful Raintree. Love how this tree came along the years. Must say it is 1 of my favorite. Thank you Mr Nigel for blessing us with your knowledge.
Glad you enjoyed it

A lovely looking tree. Thanks for sharing.
That rain tree is really nice! Great updates too! Glad the kitties are ok!
We think there are 5 kittens, all orange!
@@TheBonsaiZone Adorable! Animals gravitating to you and your family really shows what kind of people you are.💚❤ Animals know who to trust!
Cheers from France ❤❤❤
Love the updates! You've inspired me with the rubber trees. One thing I've been doing is doing partial leaf prunes with a tear-drop shaped template so they stay small
Thanks Tom!!!
Nigel, you truly are a master in Bonsai
Cool 😎 enjoy the summer ☀️
What a beautiful species for bonsai . I'm trying to get one for year's.
They are wonderful trees!!
Catching up on videos. This is one cool BRT!!! This tree is in great hands with the Master!!!
Love that tree. It's so elegant looking. My opinion is the woman is bit big and takes from the tree a bit. But that's just me. All the other trees looking great also especially the rubber trees. Love watching them develop.
Thanks Chris, yes I agree, she's just there for fun!
Firethorn. Cool! The 2 trees have a nice haircut and are ready for more summer growth. Really nice looking trees.
Great video... The rain tree is beginning to look really nice... congratulations 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much 😊
I have 2. Thanks for all your help...... Northern Indiana. I learn so much. Love the tree. Did I say thanks. Thanks.
That is awesome! Thank you!!
❤😊
A Pithecolobium Tortum, native of the Atlantic Forest in the state of Rio de Janeiro. 60% of Brazil’s land is still preserved forest, but the Atlantic coast was colonized centuries ago and only 17% of its area is still forest. This tree is a native of that region. Enjoy!
Thanks Jeff!!!
Oops! 🎵 There goes another rubber tree plant!🎵🎷
👍👌👌
Chloroleucon tortum.
I find my brazilian rain tree grows best in indirect sun / shady with high humidity
Did the Ginkgo Biloba project end up halting?
The big one got attacked by borers, I only have a seedling now.
@@TheBonsaiZone RIP the fallen. Thanks for the update Nigel!🫶🏽
