Stamford Street was a major shopping area when I was a child back in the 1960's. It's decline through the 1980's & 90's was a criminal neglect, so sad to see it like this.
This is the most exciting thing to ever come out of ashton, only just though, we had 2 Pidgeons fighting for a discarded ham sandwich, that got rather violent.
Good day I just saw Building Collapse, Stamford Street, Ashton under Lyne, I just wanted you to know I think it's a good video, it's interesting just how many responses you have. Nice one for posting. I am looking forward to your next video. Thanks Rob Summers Mar 28, 2014 02:53:22
Just Googled it,...... Francis Thompson 226 Stamford Street Renowned Catholic poet Francis Thompson lived with his family at 226 Stamford Street between 1864 and 1885.
A cherry picker/boom lift can be used for whatever job you require them for whether it be fitting new facia boards, gutters, demo work etc etc) they’re not just for “light bulbs” at all you tool! Lol people like you are what’s wrong with the world today! “Busybody’ing Gobshites” I like to call them
вначале видео видно, что перекрытие между этажами треснуло, а конструкция держалась на соплях за счёт навеса. Два кирпича попадают по навесу, он отрывается и падает вся стена.
saw this on tv tonight down in bristol Vanessa it didn't just get shown on north west tonight it was on the bbc news 24 channel as well so it's prob been seen all over the world .....you've gone international love lol xxx
someone just posted about kenworths in the fb group ashton under lyne poeple .....and got some of the facts wrong about it collapsing due to renovations ect ...soooo i hope you dont mind Vanessa i have poped this vid in my reply about it? ...gotta get facts right if they gonna post about something ect lol ...also pointed out (but may be wrong) the blue plaque that was on there was never replaced on the building thats there now and not even on the tmbc blue plaque internet page now! :( ..wether it was damaged in the collapse or (knowing TMBC) got lost ect i dont know BUt in my view even though there is a new building there now they should have put the plaque back as its styill the same spot ect ;) xx ...as you know not lived back in ashton for 15 yrs but mum and dad still there and i still care about what happens back home to our historic buildings ect ;) xx
Wouldn't surprise me if elf n'safety have words with the operator, can't see any safety harness and why did somebody have to use the lower control station to drop the boom, you'd think if the top control box worked he'd be getting as far from the building as quickly as possible.

Hmmm, how convenient for the preying planners and developers; my wondering what might have happened had this Grade II listed building having been given the benefit of some timely maintenance over the past few years, or would this have been counter-productive in the greedy-eyes of those who will replace it with a concrete monstrosity, at 10 times the rent and rates, or course ? In Germany, by contrast, what few buildings were left in similar towns of theirs - that weren't gutted by the four hourly-returning Allied thousand-bomber raids at the climax of WWII - have been loyally-restored and maintained to their former glory; something that clearly hasn't dawned on the planners of today, in this former bastion of *King Cotton*.
What do expect when people that own history don't look after it, shame to see... And its not the only history building that will go the same way because of the owners...
On devrait donner une médaille à cet ouvrier. Grâce à lui il a sans doute évité un drame postérieur. L'immeuble aurait pu s'écrouler sur des ouvriers qui seraient intervenus ultérieurement.
TheBigMclargehuge If you do and post it on UA-cam I will contact UA-cam and they will remove it and warn you. why be so pig headed, the income from this goes to charity, if you upload then the charity loses out.
That bloke's a comedian - he's always bringin' the house down

Started with "trust me, I'm an engineer!", and ended with "well, maybe not.."
"Good day at work dear?"....."I don't want to talk about it!"
Was that a blue plaque on the wall?
What's the significance?

Amazing how the whole wall collapsed just from pushing a few bricks out.
He likely pulled a beam

Для этого дядьки - вин. В описанной мной ситуации - фейл.

Почему, когда я вижу, как в подобном видео кто-то увлеченно расковыривает что-то, то я сразу начинаю догадываться, чем это закончится?

Chuck, is this you?
Well, that took care of that.
What do expect when people that own history don't look after it, shame to see... And its not the only history building that will go the same way because of the owners...
it's not a very old building- or a very interesting one, and this was after a fire.
