True, but 38-6 is still a beating regardless. Vikings have their share of stinkers too. This year is a new year and the Lions are being picked in a lot of games because of how close they got last year to the SB. Either way it should be a good Vikings vs Lions game.
The Vikes didn't look lost - they stayed competitive without their QB1. Try watching a Dolphins or Saints game to see how tough that is. It would bode you well to forget 2023 and go back to 2022 if you want to think about this Vikes team - the roster is a lot better and deeper than then, and the difference in DC is night and day.

Folks will stick to their pre-conceptions about the Vikes and look at some of those scores thinking the were close games, but the truth is the Vikes were so dominant that they could virtually let the other team score and they'd still have no chance to win with time virtually up. The most determining factor in this game will be ,of course, Sam Darnold. The media has doubted him from the start of the season and the media hasn't let up on him yet. In KOCs system they don't need a great QB , just a decently good one who is careful with the ball. Sam Darnold is decently good but at times isn't very careful with his throws and that's what the problem is,however, what he does provide is great mobility. Now, if you followed the Vikings from Fran Tarkenton days to Randall Cunningham then Duante Cullpepper and Brett Favre even Case Keenum they did the best with mobile scrambling QBs and Sam Darnold is exactly that. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Vikings make a deep playoff run or after 48 yrs. a S.B. appearance and maybe they might win it this time.
Goff is decently good at times too. Will be interesting to see how he goes against one of the best defences in the league, while Sam faces one of the worst defences and looks for two of the best WRs in the league.

I still cannot believe that people legit think how good your overall offense is against the Vikings defense is what determines success. No this isn’t a standard defense this defense literally puts it all on the quarter back into a make or break deal. The QB either figures out what they are doing pre snap or needs to improvise post snap there is very little wiggle room in between.
The biggest irony is that the Lions become the Cowboys this week, a team that has just lost their defensive superstar, and off to visit a contender coming off the bye. I don't see how this game is close. 35-13 Vikes. Folks are getting way over excited about a couple of Lions wins over teams with severely depleted D Lines, that play exactly to the Lions strength - their O Line. I don't understand why every Lions fan is not petrified about this game which will 80% decide the division - the Vikes probability is currently about 54%, but a win here, with their respective remaining schedules being polar opposites is nearly terminal for the Lions. Any references to last season are also just ridiculous - the Vikes were without their QB1 for both games, and the defence was battered trying to support the worst 3 and out offence in the league. Just look at the Dolphins and Saints to see how easy it is to stay afloat without your QB. Almost every analyst and fan got their pre-season assessment of the Vikes completely wrong, because they probably based it on two things - the Vikes 2023 season, and their preconceptions of Darnold at the Jets. If anyone had reviewed Darnold's play with the Panthers (8-9), and his cameos with the 49ers they would have seen that he has been playing at a similar standard now for 3 years. Shanahan and KOC noticed that. Now that Sam has been with two elite organisations with better HCs, schemes, O Lines and playmakers, he is consistently improving, and much more rapidly than Goff did when he first arrived at the Lions. Remember Goff's 3-20 start? It's as irrational to expect Darnold to regress to his 2020 form, as it is to expect Goff to revert to his 2021, 2-15 form. Once you come to the realisation that Darnold will continue to be just as efficient as Cousins, even better in the pocket, off schedule and rushing, and more talented overall, the next step is to ignore the anomalous 2023 season and compare the 2024 Vikes to the 2022 13-4 team. The 2024 Vikes roster is much better, younger, faster and much deeper. Players that started in 2022 and 2023 are now deep in the rotation or didn't even make the PS. The DC is an exponential upgrade, and unlike 2023 when Flores had to work with what he inherited, this season Flores handpicked 12 new players for his starting rotation to play the scheme he wanted to play. There is a narrative that folks will work his scheme out, but the real story is that 5 weeks ago most of these guys had not played together, or in this scheme, and every week the scheme is becoming a little bit more intuitive, and they are learning a little bit more about playing alongside each other. The prevailing narrative seems to be questioning when will the Vikes bubble burst - but I'd suggest the Vikes are more logically much nearer their floor, than their ceiling, and the Lions, NFL fans, and especially Lions fans, could be in for a very, very rude awakening and major reality check on Sunday.
Those trick plays was taken from Buddy Ryan when he coached the Eagles. Dan Campbell wanted to embarras the C😢owboys because of last years debacle with the refs. Don't over think it.
One question I have... why is it when the Vikings handedly beat the Giants the media is like yeah but it was against the Giants and yet the media praises to the high heavens when the Bears, Lions, and Packers perform well against teams like the Jaguars, Cardnals, Titans, Colts? I think this game will be an online example of how statistics and sample size can trick you. Both of these teams are being lauded for their run defense and could be very good at that, but they've both spent so much time ahead that their opponents have to pass and that really skews things

I still cannot believe that people legit think how good your overall offense is against the Vikings defense is what determines success. No this isn’t a standard defense this defense literally puts it all on the quarter back into a make or break deal. The QB either figures out what they are doing pre snap or needs to improvise post snap there is very little wiggle room in between.

The biggest irony is that the Lions become the Cowboys this week, a team that has just lost their defensive superstar, and off to visit a contender coming off the bye. I don't see how this game is close. 35-13 Vikes. Folks are getting way over excited about a couple of Lions wins over teams with severely depleted D Lines, that play exactly to the Lions strength - their O Line.
I don't understand why every Lions fan is not petrified about this game which will 80% decide the division - the Vikes probability is currently about 54%, but a win here, with their respective remaining schedules being polar opposites is nearly terminal for the Lions.
Any references to last season are also just ridiculous - the Vikes were without their QB1 for both games, and the defence was battered trying to support the worst 3 and out offence in the league. Just look at the Dolphins and Saints to see how easy it is to stay afloat without your QB.
Almost every analyst and fan got their pre-season assessment of the Vikes completely wrong, because they probably based it on two things - the Vikes 2023 season, and their preconceptions of Darnold at the Jets. If anyone had reviewed Darnold's play with the Panthers (8-9), and his cameos with the 49ers they would have seen that he has been playing at a similar standard now for 3 years. Shanahan and KOC noticed that. Now that Sam has been with two elite organisations with better HCs, schemes, O Lines and playmakers, he is consistently improving, and much more rapidly than Goff did when he first arrived at the Lions. Remember Goff's 3-20 start? It's as irrational to expect Darnold to regress to his 2020 form, as it is to expect Goff to revert to his 2021, 2-15 form.
Once you come to the realisation that Darnold will continue to be just as efficient as Cousins, even better in the pocket, off schedule and rushing, and more talented overall, the next step is to ignore the anomalous 2023 season and compare the 2024 Vikes to the 2022 13-4 team. The 2024 Vikes roster is much better, younger, faster and much deeper. Players that started in 2022 and 2023 are now deep in the rotation or didn't even make the PS. The DC is an exponential upgrade, and unlike 2023 when Flores had to work with what he inherited, this season Flores handpicked 12 new players for his starting rotation to play the scheme he wanted to play. There is a narrative that folks will work his scheme out, but the real story is that 5 weeks ago most of these guys had not played together, or in this scheme, and every week the scheme is becoming a little bit more intuitive, and they are learning a little bit more about playing alongside each other.
The prevailing narrative seems to be questioning when will the Vikes bubble burst - but I'd suggest the Vikes are more logically much nearer their floor, than their ceiling, and the Lions, NFL fans, and especially Lions fans, could be in for a very, very rude awakening and major reality check on Sunday.

One question I have... why is it when the Vikings handedly beat the Giants the media is like yeah but it was against the Giants and yet the media praises to the high heavens when the Bears, Lions, and Packers perform well against teams like the Jaguars, Cardnals, Titans, Colts? The quality of opponents in the Vikings wins this year verse the quality of opponents the rest of the North has wins against has never been brought up for comparison. Seems convienient to leave that out. I get it every team is professional but there is a stark contrast in the strength of schedules to this point and it's never even brought up.

The lions have yet to face a legit defense. Putting up 40+ points against Dallas is not the flex you think it is (The saints did it too). Vikings can stop the run and force Goff to make mistakes. meanwhile Darnold will ball out; no Hutchinson = no pass rush. Darnold will have all the time in the world to throw the ball and JJ will feast against this secondary.

I think this game will be an online example of how statistics and sample size can trick you. Both of these teams are being lauded for their run defense and could be very good at that, but they've both spent so much time ahead that their opponents have to pass and that really skews things
