Best Konquest outside of Armageddon. Konquest just felt more rich on deception though and had a charm to it. Armageddon Konquest felt like a completely different game. Thats both a good thing and bad.
I’m a bit surprised that Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 and or Budokai Tenkaichi 3 were not on here. I know a lot of people liked those especially because for some if not a lot of people, it was an introduction to the series.
True, it seems they pick some obscure games that not as many people remember and say they are iconic enough for a top ten not that these games are bad I’m just surprised.
@@domx7zero157 The reason why Def Jam is so popular is it's one of the few games that's targeted 2 completely different demographics People who like Hip-Hop & people who like the AKI Wrestling games on the N64. So as a result, you didn't have to enjoy Hip-Hop to like this game because it had the best Wrestling game publisher behind it
Soulcalibur 2 is one of the best fighting games ever. I would also add Dead or alive 2 although the original xbox flat out is the best version of this game outside maybe the arcade version. Dead or alive 2 is still fluid as hell to this day
Soulcalibur 2 was better than Tekken 5 it wasn't as broken and was more balanced people must have been board with the T5 Steve Fox mirror matches back in 2005 in competitive spaces thank god for Tekken 5.1 aka Dark Resurrection the real masterpiece.
Mortal Kombat Deception is still online to this day on a PS2 fan server. No one believed me 7 years ago so I started live streaming it to hopefully find more players. And 7 years later I'm a full time Mortal Kombat streamer. All thanks to Deception. Epic game!
Seeing marvel vs capcom just brings back so much pre teen button mashing madness , love it! Kinda a crime though that you guys didn’t include The Warriors on here by rockstar , probably one of the best fighters of all time
While many Filipinos seen these fighting games on the PS2 many times through game rentals and pisonet back in the day, there are some haven't played them yet like Neo Geo Battle Coliseum and King of Fighters 11.
@@coopdoggdaroc2097 I can't stand Tekken 7. The addition of those "rage arts" made it completely different from other games in the series both gameplay-wise and tone-wise, and not in a good way. They also butchered the story mode, the endings are a joke. Also I can't forgive them for what they did to Julia Chang. I mean It's alright that you like it, but I really, really don't.
@@spectrebull As much as I like Link, I grew up watching HBO's Spawn and playing Tekken 3, so I beg to differ. Kalas from Baten Kaitos would've been a better fit.
@@Cautious_Gamer I think SC2 all depends on what you grew up with. I grew up with Tekken, but didnt enjoy playing Heihachi. My friends loved Link. I had no idea who Spawn was at the time. :P We all have different tastes.
I loved Guilty Gear X2, I played the hell out of it and exhausted as much as I could out of it. And after doing everything possible in the game, I would still just do VS. matches against the CPU to just relax. Such a great game.
So I didn't hallucinate _War of the Monsters_ back in the day. I remember playing it on a demo disc back in the day and couldn't remember the name for years. It was so fun absolutely demolishing the city, I almost had more fun doing that than actually playing the game. lol But it was definitely a fun game. I wish they'd revive it.
And that's one of my favorite videogame crossovers. And Street Fighter,King Of Fighters, Samurai Showdown and Fatal Fury are one of my favorite fighting game series.

VF4 Evo is absolutely amazing man, and "Quest Mode" is STILL the best single player mode in a fighting game in my opinion. On top of that it even had a completely remade VF1 included as a bonus, in that one you get VF1 but reimagined with the then current roster. VF4 Evo is the highest rated PS2 fighting game on Metacritic for a reason. CvS2, MvC2, and Third Strike are top tier as well. Oh and Tekken 5 too.

Nice to see Neogeo battle colusem get some love. Played a lot of tekken 5, but the fighting game me and my friend always come back to is Neo Geo Battle Coluseum. It is the best way to hurt your thumbs!
Tekken 5 was and still my best fighting game of all time, but to be fair this list is missing many great fighting games. If you're talking about fighting games on Ps2 , you can't just mention Tekken and forget about Guilty Gear AC+, DBZ Budokai 3, The King of Fighters 11 and Soul Calibur 2 .
Played virtual fighter 4 a ton when i was in the hospital during therapy after surgery during my off time they had a playstation 2 in a video game room along with street fighter 4 tenkachi 2 and tekken 4😊😊 as hard as it was in 2009 for me fighting games always make me feel good bloody roar 3 and 2 got me started with video games in general at the age of 3 years old 😊😊

First thought I had was Rumble Roses before watching this video as a guilty pleasure game, and you literally said the same. A man of culture. Dark horse classic was Def Jam for sure. That is a game that will NEVER have another series, unless they can get the rights of every single person. No SoulCalibur 2/3 or any of the Guilty Gear X2 iterations instantly negates this list. SoulCalibur 2 is so popular it got an HD rerelease. Also a weird omission is Street Fighter Alpha , Mark of the Wolves and the Last Blade 2.

Out of those I have Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Mortal Kombat Deception, and Tekken 5 on PS2. I have a ps2 slim with hdmi converter for hdtvs.
I remember there being so many 3D fighting games on PS1 2 and 3. Nowadays it seems like there's nowhere near as much variety. Yes, you have Tekken, SF and MK but it seems like that's about it.
Soul Calibur III (or II) and Guilty Gear X2 (or accent core) should be on the list ....but anyway this is an awesome list for what it is hands down the best console in the fighting game genre ever made, PS2 was THE Fighter system

I spent sooooooo many hours on MK Deception, between the acarde and Konquest mode. Still one of my all time favorites.

Legend Of The Dragon Loved The Animated Series on Toon Disney played the game on PS2 and I still have it after 2 decades

VF4 was a phenomenal game. I grew up playing virtually every fighting game available and that has always been one of my favorites

Def Jam: Fight for NY and Vendetta, Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, Virtual Fighter 3 and 4, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Soul Calibur 2 and 3, Capcom vs SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Mortal Kombat: Deception, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 1 and 2, Capcom Fighting Evolution, The King of Fighters XI, Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, Rumble Roses and Tekken Tag Tournament are all one of My Most Favorite PS2 Fighting Games of All Time from my Childhood Years.
Out of those I have Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Mortal Kombat Deception, and Tekken 5 on PS2. I have a ps2 slim with hdmi converter for hdtvs.
Okay big sin right there. Is no one going to mention Guilty Gear X2? Best looking 2-D fighter on PS2 and super fun.
I remember there being so many 3D fighting games on PS1 2 and 3. Nowadays it seems like there's nowhere near as much variety. Yes, you have Tekken, SF and MK but it seems like that's about it.
The only thing i wish War of the Monsters did was make every character have their own move list
If they had made a second game I think they would have. They made a whole lot in that game that had not really be done in a similar way before.
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monk in my eyes was the best MK game. How DBZ BT2 is not in the list is criminal. But I agree Tekken 5 was a game changer

Soul Calibur III (or II) and Guilty Gear X2 (or accent core) should be on the list ....but anyway this is an awesome list for what it is hands down the best console in the fighting game genre ever made, PS2 was THE Fighter system

I used to think the PS2 was playing like the arcade version on marvel vs capcom 2 I was wrong the entire time got the arcade 1 up the arcade 1 up plays alot better can’t believe the PS2 didn’t deliver the arcade version but the PS2 didn’t suck like the PS1 did
