Survey corps really has gone far from struggling to kill a single titan in S1 to now being atleast immobilize a titan shifter. Thunder spear was indeed a huge contribution.
What’s more is these aren’t even seasoned survey corps members. The people here were recruited after retaking the walls, meaning they have probably never even fought a regular Titan, much less a Titan shifter.
Imagine if all the og survey corp members like Levi’s squad, Mike, and all the other vets from season 1 had them. They would have reclaimed the walls in no time.

Makes me wonder what tech Paradis would've developed if the royal family didn't stop the people of Paradis inside the walls from developing their own tech.... They eventually may make something similar to anti-titan cannons (basically anti-tank cannons or AP cannons) used by the nation that we saw Marley fighting against. Having accurate cannons that can one shot a titan with a single, well placed shot would've made titan killing super easy.
Thunder Spears were originally made to kill the armored titan, but I see they improved them. Didn't they used to have strings that needed to be yanked to activate the uhhhh... thunder spears to make them explode?

In season 3 he sits still and let's them fire 8 thunder spears into his neck, don't know why Reiner wasn't moving back in season 3 (must be for dramatic effect) but nontheless he's a stationary target getting hit with multiple thunder spears on his neck. In season 4 he's moving around and fighting back. It's much harder to kill your target when he's moving.

And he was beating tf out of Eren until Eren started using Annie’s technique

I love this scene because it shows how quickly Eldians have advances in technology and weaponry against Titans. Watching Annie struggle against them, compared to back then when she completely dominated, is quite refreshing and very informative.
Especially considering she dominated skilled veterans and now struggles against young recruits

Hardening was break on rumbling. Now all usual.
Thunder spears has made hardening near useless, Reiner has better defenses against it, but two waves of thunder spears can kill him.
this fight was sad cause they were on the same side ones and it felt that they still were. Eren divided them really.

No. It didn't work when Mikasa tried it on Lara's crystal. Only the Marley and Mid-Eastern Anti-Titan artillery can shatter crystal hardening, as they did with Eren's. Armor and War Hammer natural hardening are thinner than crystal, so thunder spears can destroy those.
@@zant527 you’re probably right but The crystals were much harder than hardening is though, porco chomped erens hardened arm like it was a toothpick but took a long time to destroy the crystal. Also zekes hardened nape was blasted through, so I’m not 100% sure

That joke died long ago, everyone who's survived this far must have plot armor of their own, take eren for example, the titan that ate him was stupid enough not to chew, when reiner chomped him and ripped him out of his titan how didn't he accidentally eat him? When reiner punched eren in s3 how did he miss that punch that would have probably destroyed erens titan head? That's some main character plot armor.
