Gary Moore is one of the GIANTS of the electric guitar. His feel, intuition for the melody and his unbelievable technique and speed were never bettered and probably will never be. ❤️
This track is a great example of the sheer brilliance & versatility that was Gary's playing - mixes the smoothness of Jazz & Blues with dazzling speed & dexterity from his Heavy Rock/Metal influences...the almost vocalisations & emotions he extracts from his guitar have never been bettered & I'm not sure they will...the man Is A Legend...RiP

I come back to this song from time to time, but not often. It is too much of an overwhelming experience, too heartfelt of an emotion. You can feel the cut is deep with this one, and always ends with a tear. Truly the performance of a century, thank u mr. Moore.
Miss Gary's ability to wrench emotions out of a plank of wood that only very few could do. Lots of players have technical ability and speed runs, but when there are tears squeezed out without a word , well you have something special there. He was a truly gifted player.
The first minute or so of this version was used as the "theme" or "intro" for a Swedish society examination program on tv for over a decade. Don't remember how the editorial found this one. Never the less when you heard or still hear today Gary play like this...it's like beyond what words can say. Very few guitarists can/could express them self in such emotional and sensitive way that Gary did. If he couldn't say with words how he felt then he let the guitar spoke for him and everyone could feel and understand his feelings, pain, joy etc. He is sorely missed for sure.
My favorite guitarist of all time. So sad that millions of people don't know him. I'm glad that my local radio station played "Still got the blues" back in the late 90's and then I re-discovered him, hearing a live version of that song from "Blues Alive" 10 years later. So sad that he passed on before I got a chance to see him live.
I am so sad to properly discover Garrry little late and so happy that I have so much to look forward to from his complex blues note to high intensity Jazz beats and from rocking rock tunes to his emotional, solemn & lengthy guitar solos. Not easy to find any other hero like him.
Better late than never.me 2. It was too late for me because just as I found out about Gary in /2010/ 2011. I heard on the news he die within a couple years. Beore that, I did not pay attention to Gary Moore beside the song "Still Got the blue"....but just a casual listener ...not a die hard Gary Moore Fan after 2010/11.

Gary Moore... I bought a C-cassette, from Swedish side. J-music was The name of store.. And i still have it, that cass... It was so mighty year of '85 then. ❤😊 He was a legend. And i had a poster of him, on my teeny weeny wall, so true is that thing also. 😢
This version has it's own merits compared with the Stockholm show. One can clearly hear the delay settings Gary is using and this guitar sound is moore in your face or direct sounding than the Stockholm version, imo. The level of clarity, pick attack vibrato, tremolo use is just sublimely brilliant,in this Wild Frontier period Gary was just on fire all the time, what a great tour this was in '87, I haven't heard a bad show, therein Gary really doesn't ever do a bad show as he gives just 110% all the time. The acoustics at the Odeon are way different than the stadium in Sweden. Just an incredible version, thanks for posting.

This guy burned fast and shined bright. He was already playing great guitar solos on vinyl at seventeen. Guitar genius. No one but Jimi can make the guitar cry and sing like Gary. We want Moore.
Rory can
R.I.P... The music has an empty place where you used to be...
Well put.
He will never lose the blues
Gary Moore is one of the GIANTS of the electric guitar. His feel, intuition for the melody and his unbelievable technique and speed were never bettered and probably will never be. ❤️
Gary Moores tone, dynamics, sustain, feedback, and the crunch between licks was impeccable.... there will never be another guitarist like him!
Agreed. One thumbs up on youtube is sacrilegious. Should be an icon for like EXPONENTIAL to click on. Love you Gary!
So underrated. A true master in solos, he always seems to find the right note.
👍
This track is a great example of the sheer brilliance & versatility that was Gary's playing - mixes the smoothness of Jazz & Blues with dazzling speed & dexterity from his Heavy Rock/Metal influences...the almost vocalisations & emotions he extracts from his guitar have never been bettered & I'm not sure they will...the man Is A Legend...RiP
This has to be one of the best solos ever.... goosebumps every time. Thanx Gary for all your awesome songs and the feeling you put on this tunes.
He may not be the best technically or melodically, but emotionally there are just a few who touch his feet. No one moves me like Gary. Soulful expression and delivery in its truest form.
gary was from other galaxy,he is the 'king'
Don't forget Jimi !!
Dream on dreamers, this is Gary Moore the GREATEST there ever was!
Holy smacks. First time I've heard that live version. Simply astounding.

Gary Moore Is eternal... unforgettable!!.. He Is the guitar"s God.
My endless love for him!!!❤️❤️❤️
i was alone at home on 6 februari 2011 when i heard that gary died..i cried and cried.and to this day i get tears in my eyes listening to him..the world lost a great gitarist aswel as a good man.
Today is 03.10.2020 and I'm still listening to you!...Years after we have lost you. Rest in peace Gary! You left something for us.
If perfection truly exists - then it's right here with this performance.
I come back to this song from time to time, but not often.
It is too much of an overwhelming experience, too heartfelt of an emotion.
You can feel the cut is deep with this one, and always ends with a tear.
Truly the performance of a century, thank u mr. Moore.
still unforgettable....
Gary Moore is a legend..
It was the best 12 minutes 28 seconds I've ever spent with my eyes closed.
I am speechless. This is definition of beauty.
i think i was there at the gig and oh boy could he play live. infact im 99% sure i was at the gig
Why he isn’t more famous, I don’t know?
Timing. Fun fact.. Ozzy wanted Gary over Randy Rhoads, but Gary didn't want anything to do with Ozzy. Imagine Blizzard of Ozz without Rhoads.
Americans manupilate the world they made famous even the garbage
Miss Gary's ability to wrench emotions out of a plank of wood that only very few could do. Lots of players have technical ability and speed runs, but when there are tears squeezed out without a word , well you have something special there. He was a truly gifted player.
Gary Moore didn't just play the guitar, he was in a constant battle with the guitar. The sound isn't a war, the sound is the pain caused by that war.
I think I wasn't a battle. It was sex. Some times intense, some times hard core with dirty fingers.
He could put for feel and soul and emotion into a single note than anyone guitar player to have walked this earth.
For me Gary is still the best blues guitarist ever. May you both RiP. 🎸☮
So sad that he passed on before I got a chance to see him live.
same for me
I am so sad to properly discover Garrry little late and so happy that I have so much to look forward to from his complex blues note to high intensity Jazz beats and from rocking rock tunes to his emotional, solemn & lengthy guitar solos.
I would "LIKE" this 5000 times if I could.

When the Grand Master aka GARY MOORE produces pieces of Musical Poetry - HE will NEVER BE ALONE !! Because he has the ability to takes US ALL WITH HIM to heaven & beyond! RIP GM
,,👋
The Moore I listen to Gary More the more I actually think he has been the most amazing guitarist of all time. Actually. Even dare I say Dave Gilmour.
I'm only sorry I never got to see him live. He was phenomenal!!!!!!!
I went to the Milton Keynes Bowl festival in 1986 solely because he was there.
Im sad I never saw him live. He died on my birthday. Huge loss to me.😥
What a dream to see Gary live !
Saw him in '77 when he filled in for Brian Robertson on Thin Lizzy's Bad reputation tour. Had no idea of the brilliance I witnessed that evening. Rediscovered him when Still Got the Blues came out. He is one of the greatest of all time.
Well done sir. You really put your soul in the music.
What an absolutely enchanting piece of art, easily one of the greatest tunes ever played since humans walked this earth.
Gary it truly a legend! I didn't know much about him until my brother one day played one of his songs. Since that day I have always listened to his songs. This person is beyond description even though his dead but his soul is still alive. Amen
I have been playing a long time, and seen the best of the best, no one was better than Gary, you can hear me, Steve Boyleston Jimmy Page Royal Albert Hall Soundchecks. RIP Gary you left your Mark, big shoes to fill. Thank you.
This man and this song inspired me to pick up the electric guitar as my instrument of choice. Legends like Gary Moore touch many people in a positive way. The pure emotions Gary put into every song is just mind blowing! - R.I.P. Gary Moore.
A real and rare guitar hero...rest in peace..be in GOD Mr. Moore
Gary Moore... I bought a C-cassette, from Swedish side. J-music was The name of store.. And i still have it, that cass... It was so mighty year of '85 then. ❤😊 He was a legend. And i had a poster of him, on my teeny weeny wall, so true is that thing also. 😢
I miss Gary Moore so so 😢😢😢😢 thanks for all your great songs , your music for the world 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
What a stunning piece of music, a masterpiece of guitar playing pure and simple
This is one of the best performances of anything I've ever heard.
+davida54 Agree with you on this version. The last 3/4 minutes - oh man.
davida54 - I like "Moore in your face" - was that intentional? It would make a good album title...
