Gary is still influencing young Guitar players all over the World. His music will live on through many generations. I listen to him everyday. Thank you Gary Moore for everything and RIP!!!
HARMONY AND HEARTS LIFE, Gary Moore did not die tragically, he died peacefully in his sleep aged 58. YOU will die a tragic death, HARMONY AND HEART'S LIFE! Stop writing NONSENSE over other people, just think of your own DEATH, of how TRAGIC it will be for you!🤔 2:54
Gary was a musician in a whole league of his own. He could play almost any style and he did it flawlessly. Great talent gone too soon. R.I.P Gary Moore.
Saw him circa 1985 on his Corridors Of Power tour here in America, at the time his song End Of The World was getting a lot of radio play, he opened for Dio at that show, good show to he was a strong opening act, glad I can say I got to see him back in the day.
Gary was a remarkable man. Gave me my first guitar lesson when I was 13 - many years ago! Much more humble and intelligent than he ever gets credit for. He was a virtuoso player, even after many drinks!
I never knew him but a friend was often his sound engineer on later projects. I am told the remarkable thing about him was that he never hit a wrong note. Just didn't happen. Or a badly timed one for that matter. Then back in February 2011 I was on the waiting list for a new amplifier, a then fairly new and highly sought after Tweed knock off called a Jazzy J 20 (fabulous amps btw). Jesse who builds them had me on what was then a three month wait list but my delivery date got set back twice, firstly because "Francis could you wait another week, Jeff Beck wants one next week for a new project". OK, for Jeff Beck... Then it was "Francis could you wait another week because Mark Knopfler wants one next week for a new project" (Jesse builds about one a week). OK, for Mark Knopfler already... Then the sadness a week later. "Francis your amp is ready. You have number 75. I was building it for Gary Moore and he passed away yesterday". So I have the amplifier he never played that he was going to use to record that album of Celtic Rock. I know I can never do it justice but I find it an inspiration all the same.
I'm sure you will do it justice okay 👍. Yes Gary was amazing as a long time dear friend and guitarist, seen him so many times in concert especially in 80s, 90s!!! Loved him, also Mama's Boys, fantastic gigs🤘🤘Loved the 80s, 90s so many bands came to Belfast Accept/Dokken, Metallica/Anthrax, Kiss, Bon Jovi, Yngwie Malmsteen, Def Leppard, Wasp, Whitesnake, Magnum (really loved Magnum, still do although sadly now disbanded😞) Dio etc🤘🤘 Best Days🤘🤘♥️♥️♥️Rest In Peace Gary Moore, Ronnie James Dio and Tony Clarkin 🙏🙏♥️♥️
George Harrison once said that Gary may have been the best guitarist he's ever seen. And we all know who Harrisons best friend was/ is E.C. Harrison said he was working on a song that required technical speed. "So, I went around the corner from my house to Garys and asked him will you play on this" ? And he did.
I saw Gary Moore one time and it was like watching 👽 an Alien he had the crowd in a complete trance amazing skill..He was never lost in a note he took the music where nobody else could take it, into another dimension❣️ ✨🎸RIP ICONIC LEGEND🎸✨ ONE OF ONE ♠️🎸♠️ Mr. GARY MOORE
No question he was one of the greatest of all time. I often hear riffs (or passages) in a tune and just have to master them, even if that's all I work on in the tune. Toward the end of Still Got the Blues, he hits a phrase that I have loved since I heard it the first time. I will often just play that alone for 30 minutes or more just because it's so freaking beautiful.
He had a melodic intensity still unrivalled in my view although he was happiest in the blues and had a complete mastery of it by the end. Was in a class of his own regards the bases he could cover.
When I heard "End of the World" the first time I was completely blown away. Gary Moore was a phenomenal musician- I was good with a guitar, very good. He was a prodigy. RIP, Gary- the world is a sadder place with you gone, but with the way things are going you are in a better place.....
I've still got the blues when I listen to his music and remember the day that he passed away. As a guitarist, Gary Moore is one of my all-time favourites and a major influence, it hit me hard and took me some time to listen to him again without feeling sad. Funny how emotions and music reach you even when you don't personally know them. I wish I had seen him in concert or got to jam with him. The KING is gone but not forgotten!
Gary Moore one of the finest guitarists to ever be born he had a rock and roll heart and a blues soul thanks for all the great music Gary gone but never will be forgotten RIP
A well researched and accurate tribute to Gary Moore's musical history, Gary has always been my guitar hero, thankfully I was lucky to see him live but never had the opportunity of meeting him, but living in Weston super mare I've spoken many times with his brother Cliff ( also a awesome guitarist) and Gary's sister. Gary Moore is so underrated he was never afraid to change musical styles and always followed his heart and not record sales. Sadly missed, his music will live forever RIP Gary ❤x
I was lucky enough to see Gary with Lizzy, Scars, BB King and in Dublin a gig for Philo , and as a solo Blues artist , he blew me away every time, He is one of the Greatest guitarist.
His contribution to Dr Strangely Strange's Heavy Petting LP is wonderful. Sign On My Mind is a track that contains the best ever penny whistle solo and sublime guitar solo from Gary. Thank you.
Nice tribute to Gary. He had no peers. You left out the album " Scars". A favorite of mine because it is such a departure. So raw and angry. But your video was very informative. Thank you.
Gary will always be one of my favorite musicians, love listening still. Darkness in Paradise is an overlooked fantastic album. Gary was a Genius , Rest in Peace 🙏
First saw Gary play at a charity gig in Oxford (1990). He & Bernie Marsden had duel on stage…no competition…Gary blew him off the stage…you could see the smile on Bernie’s face.
Yeah, death is very sad, but when you've lived a rock star life for 45 years, been involved in several classic blues and rock recordings, loved and been loved, and died in your sleep, it's not really Tragic is it?
Nope! Lived the life of a rock and blues man. A year before he died I watched some videos of him onstage and I said to myself, He looks absolutely horrible and having seen my older brother and older booze hounds and how they looked right before they died. I said, this is going to end well. He died shortly thereafter.
My buddy in 82 handed my Corridors of Power and i have been a fan ever since. Its his best hard rock album IMO. Run for Cover is great too. The sad ass truth is, if Gary was a pretty boy like all the big rock/hair metal bands of the 80s he would have been a mega star selling millions upon millions of albums.
Gary was not a pretty boy, but he was a handsome man. I think he didn't make it big because of his honesty. He didn't play games, and he didn't kiss ass. This probably pissed people off in the music industry. There are a lot of big ego's in the music business.
Saw him with Greg Lake at the Masonic Temple in Toronto. Lake dressed in natty attire, Gary in black with studs looking like he just came from a brawl that didn't go well. Fantastic!
Just watching the great actor John C. Reilly on TV right now. If they ever made a biopic of Gary he would be a shoo in to play the older Gary in his final years.
I happen to be from Ballsbridge. By any chance do you know the address of the bedsit they shared ? I never knew this. Around when was this ? This is a fascinating piece of information for me to find out at this stage of my life. I spent my teenage years listening to Thin Lizzy.
To my mind he was the most "melodic" and thus romantic player. Even in his hardest solos you could find real music, not just a technique, what a pity he's gone😢

@@dukecraig2402 Congrats and lucky you. I am a Brit and to my shame I never saw him live unfortunately. My fault though. Well done Sir :)
Du hast vollkommen recht! Seine Töne sind wie Blumen❤ die nach Liebe riechen.....besser wie viele die nach Ihm sehr populär wurden! Mehr Tiefe ......
Gary will always be one of my 5 best guitarists of all time.
