This lads enthusiasm and excitement for one of humanities greatest inventions is contageous. I'm not a train enthusiast, but watching this has instantly put me in a better mood. Cheers Francis, never change mate.
you can easily get this guys enthusiasm and childlike passion. Just find something that will make you happy, not everything is doom and gloom. Lots of things to get excited about.
My family are from Crewe. My dad (and his 6 brothers) all left school at 15 to become apprentices in Crewe works, which at the time was huge. My dad spent all of his working life there repairing the diesel locos. He reckoned he'd worked on every single diesel train of that era. He didn't enjoy it, and like so many of the men in the works, he was repeatedly exposed asbestos, which lead to asbestosis and his death. Crewe and Swindon (the other big works) were national blackspots for asbestosis. I wonder what he'd think of the joy you have in your videos here. I'm sure he'd have really enjoyed a chat with you, and if you wanted to know how to rewire anything on the engine he'd have explained it well. Thanks for the wonderful videos.
I had lots of fun train spotting in the 80’s I lived near Chesterton junction in Cambridge and travelled all over the country, my nanna’s garden backed onto the northern line in hemel Hempstead and was a treat to sit on the fence and watch the HST 125’s go by
As a boy I can remember playing in the playground in the summer at primary school and hear these tones in the distance. What nostalgia. Hopefully the tones will stay the same for future people.
Such a lovely chap. He reminds me of my trainspotting days in the late 50s and early 60s. Life was much nicer in those days and Francis is as excited in 2024 at the sight of the older engines as I was when when they were first introduced into service! The unique nose cam and general video quality make his videos quite addictive... 👍👍😊
I’m part of a WhatsApp group of lads ….one of his videos was posted in the group to belittle and disparage Francis, Francis is a delight to watch and I love his warmth humour and enthusiasm…it’s contagious Wishing Francis & his family a wonderful Xmas What a truly wonderful man he is 😎
Absolutely zero interest in trains, but how can you not smile at these videos. Francis is smiling, the train driver is smiling whilst blowing the horn, and I'm literally grinning watching it. Honestly, keep it up pal.
I have to agree. This pleasant, thoughtful young man's enthusiasm for his hobby is utterly infectious. I, too, am not a train spotter, but I enioy sharing your joy.
Thank you for your service Francis ❤ You actually make me cry with joy when you run after the trains, I love also when the drivers and staff interact with you.
When I was young I would go with my dad to the big London stations and train spot with him, my dad passed away 6 years ago now my interest in trains has come back.some ways it connects back the times with my dad. Thank you Francis for your enthusiasm and joy.
You’re a delight to watch. I always find your videos a breath of fresh air. I’m not a huge train fan myself, but when I watch you that narrative changes completely ☺️
I wish i could live on the surface like this. I've mourned too much to ever be able to derive pleasure from something as superficial as this. That's not a criticism - a soul that can swim on the surface is a healthy soul.
Francis is very, very clever. He knows exactly what he is doing when it comes to presentation and production. When I first saw him I presumed his videos were spoof, Alan Partridge style big production company made films but they’re not which makes them so much better. His films are a combination of genuine enthusiasm and passion and a very smart guy realising he’s onto something unique that captivates and entertains. Long may he continue to make the nation chuckle and promote our great railways.
It broke my heart to think you are disliked. You are a beautiful human and are loved more than you could ever imagine! Bless you sir, keep the videos coming!
It's great that in 2024 you still get a buzz out of the hobby. I called it a day in 1989, the Peaks had gone as had the 25's. My local yard, Healey Mills was being run down, the pit closures meant Knottingley had lost its purpose, and Normanton had lost its NE/SW expresses due to the Royston landslip, so there seemed little point in continuing. I kept my photographs of better days so i can reminisc. Great enthusiasm though!
You make me laugh so much my sides are splitting. Your enthusiasm for your hobby is marvelous...Your videos are just gold...Keep it up Francis...and thank you for uploading these gems.
This guy has the perfect life! Quirky, funny, extremely polite, kind and super enthusiastic. It seems that he experiences pure unfiltered joy and happiness. He has friends and a super nice girlfriend. He is truly rich.
I love your happiness, enthusiasm and excitement in these videos.. If only everyone else had the same outlook on life, the world would be a much nicer place. Thanks Francis I've subscribed to your channel mate 👍🏼
Brilliant, Eastleigh was the start point for the thumpers 205 to Portsmouth harbour, which I did many times great filming Francis, thanks for sharing, and more please !!
Yea, just to echo all of these previous comments. We don't even have trains where I come from but watching this guy's enthusiasm for them is superb. He has no hidden agenda to deliver, no political message, no subliminal product placement.
Thanks Francis, another great video and hopefully they will be shown in years to come. Reminds me of Fred Dibnah talking about the steam industry, the enthusiasm and knowledge is brilliant, keep up the good work.
I am 65 and when I was a 2 yrs old I screamed if my sisters tried to take me away from Newbury station where I loved to see, smell and hear the old steam trains of the day as they flew through the station. I didn't go on to become a train spotter but I love your enthusiasm, it is infectious. Great show as usual!!
This lads enthusiasm and excitement for one of humanities greatest inventions is contageous. I'm not a train enthusiast, but watching this has instantly put me in a better mood. Cheers Francis, never change mate.
Totally agree!
He would make a great train driver 🚅

I have absolutely no interest in trains, but these videos are among the best on the internet. Perfectly genuine. What a top bloke.
I totally agree, makes me smile every time.
I gotta say at first I thought it was a prank a character but no he’s the real deal !
Whether you’re a train person or not, this guys enthusiasm is so infectious
Speak for yourself. He fills me with murderous rage. Is that the kind of putrid infection you speak of?.
@@frankiepaul9869wait, what?! Murderous what?!
HELLFIRE!!!!!!!!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂@@frankiepaul9869
If I could have a smidge of this man’s enthusiasm and childlike passion for anything I would most likely be a better person
you can easily get this guys enthusiasm and childlike passion. Just find something that will make you happy, not everything is doom and gloom. Lots of things to get excited about.
Francis is a world of knowledge on his subject, he’d make a good TV presenter. Francis is the Beno of trains.

What an absolutely blissful existence. Words cant describe how envious i am of that young gentleman.
I was under the impression most trains in Europe and UK were electrified. I'm surprised at the amount of diesels in the UK. Great videos !

I would put Francis in the same category as Fred dibnah and Guy Martin. brilliant.what a great advert for being yourself and people loving you for it.

I used to ride the class 50s from Reading to Didcot for a train journey. Nice to see my local station, Eastleigh, in the video 👍
