The first thing i noticed is how well they adapted Fujimotos art style. I can guess that this is what most Japanese fans of Chainsaw Man wanted for its adaptation.
I’m really fricking thrilled cause Look Back is a story I love very personally, as a beginner artist. I’m far off, but I’m hoping to make my own magnum opus of a comic one day, and Fujimoti in general has been a big inspiration. The feeling of giving your all to it, especially the drawing sections, is what spoke to me the best. I swear I’m watching this movie on release then saving up for a Blu-Ray copy.
With Look back now being done, I'd actually like to see Goodbye Eri more than Fire Punch. Oh and Sui Ichida's Choujin X is fire right now if you wanna check later
I could definitely see Goodbye Eri getting an adaptation but Fire Punch would be difficult. Agni is constantly on fire and I don't think CG fire is good enough yet to be used in an anime. Just Agni being on screen for 12 episodes will suck the budget dry. I'd love to see them prove me wrong tho
@@mariael2620 Even fire force didn't have the flames constantly on screen. Keep in mind that even in scenes with no action and it's just dialogue, Agni still has to be on fire. Many studios can do fire effects well, some even better than David productions. Some are even more consistent. It isn't a matter of how well you can do it but how many frames you are willing to pay for. What would normally just be one frame with moving mouths, now has to be 5 frames minimum. Stretch that for an entire season, plus the fact that Fujimoto's art style is very gritty and distinct and you have a budgeting nightmare. CG is the best method to circumvent this issue but that has its own problems. To have a character that's always on fire is a whole different ball game. Add to that the quality of the adaptation's Fujimoto's work has received so far. There's now an expectation to be met. That being said, there is one way to achieve it and that's to not have strict deadlines. Sadly you can count on one hand the number of studios that do that. The only one I know is KyoAni, which I highly doubt would take on Fire punch.
