Nice to see both paths broken down so clearly. 😀 I think it’s important to remember that it’s very difficult to face Owl head on. If your build doesn’t have splash damage or a source of indirect damage, like poison or Soul Hourglass, then you need to stun him and get a few swings in. Mainly through tanking explosives 🧨 Blow up a Vile Bead - Take one in the face - Kick his shins - Run.
Thank you for the guides, very informative and well explained. I just started playing this game and i really enjoy it! I would love to watch more of your content. Keep up the good job.
Damn, that first Owl fight was rough. Quite lucky with the parries there, but it does demonstrate the dangers of the Owl room quite well haha Edit: Commented too early, and noticed later you did discuss what I commented about and subsequently deleted already lol. My bad
I generally tend to say that the dark path is easier simply because there are so many different ways to do "splash" or "indirect" damage without manually attacking the owl. Additionally depending on what difficulty we are talking g you can get tanks enough to just fight the owl head on given the proper items.
@@TheAbsoluteWorst2021 awesome. One more thing, i know you said having at least one in vision is good but is there a target number to have besides that? It seems like it is a much less important a Stat than the other 4.
@@somehuman1901 No problem! So yeah that could probably use some updating in terms of how I feel about clarity now. I would say now anywhere from -3 - 10 is fine. You can just sort of coast throughout the game without feeling too much of a difference anywhere on that scale. Now the difference maker being if you are trying to work it into a build as a staple of the build. If you are going a negative or normal clarity build then you want every point you can get with an approx target of 50. I know that answer is on both sides of the fence but basically 10 is very comfortable for the average build for general benefits and going as low as -3 feels totally manageable.
Sorry friend it's been a long time since I've uploaded this video. So I don't have an exact answer from you. My guesses would be critical chance or some other combination of items that enhance in hand damage.
This is probably a late comment but if you kill the owl during your run. (I was faster than the owl and kept freezing him and killed him just for fun in one of my runs) You are locked out of the darkness path and are forced to battle the owl at the end!

All great stuff! I actually hadn't realized the stuns from explosive enemies until picking up the game again earlier this year
I killed owl on my first darkness attempt via knock-back on fire beads and attacked while he was stunned.
my first run where i got to the final room i died to vision because of the instakill light pillars. love this game
If you had any opinions on the game's story/lore, I for one would be very interested in hearing them.
Thanks for the suggestion! Definitely something I can think about. Maybe incorporate it into one of my runs

No worries man! This channel is a hive mind for us all to get better! Glad I covered whatever it was.
if your nearly dying on the owl.. i got no chance lol
You've got it man. Item unlocks are huge so definitely take look at those achievements!
Which one would you say is easier or recommended to go with fewer unlocks?

@@somehuman1901 Just to make sure I am understanding you properly, are we talking about clarity? The grey icon?
@@TheAbsoluteWorst2021 yes I'm sorry I forgot the name.

For me, in comparison to light path, owl fight feels too easy and anticlimacting.
