I was 22 I can 1977 when I first heard this music. I just left many years of rock ‘n’ roll and many live concerts of the 70s hard rock bands at the LA forum. I saw Led Zeppelin seven times as an example. The music of Keith Green, Randy Stonehill, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Bob Ayala, Bob Bennett, Phil Kiki, and so on absolutely blew my mind and immediately took the place of the rock ‘n’ roll music that so pervaded my thoughts. I don’t know why this is not available on Apple records or some other place. My albums are long gone along with the cassettes, and I don’t know how other than UA-cam to listen to this music and share it with others.
Lyrics for Puppet Strings: [Verse 1] I can't keep from mourning For this topsy-turvy world With all its strife and pain Mourning for the lost And the desperate children Who can't remember their names [Chorus 1] And I can feel it in my soul Now the end is getting near I can hear the devil laughing And it's ringing in my ears [Verse 2] Long ago, he chose us To inherit all his kingdom And we were blessed With life But wandering away We disobeyed him in the garden And stumbled into night [Chorus 2] And I can feel it in my soul Now the end is getting near I can hear the angel's reaping And it's ringing in my ears We are all like foolish puppets Who, desiring to be kings Now lie pitifully crippled After cutting our own strings [Verse 3] But God said, "I forgive you I will face you man to man And win your love again" Oh, how could there be possibly A greater gift of love Than dying for a friend? [Chorus 3] And I can feel it in my soul Now the end is getting near I can hear the devil laughing And it's ringing in my ears We are all like foolish puppets Who, desiring to be kings Now lie pitifully crippled After cutting our own strings [Outro] Oh, oh Cutting our own strings Oh, oh Cutting our own strings Oh, oh
Highest level in creativity in pop music; much higher though because of the Spirit... Totally unchanged in value, production; absolutely timeless!!!

Lyrics for Puppet Strings:
[Verse 1]
I can't keep from mourning
For this topsy-turvy world
With all its strife and pain
Mourning for the lost
And the desperate children
Who can't remember their names
[Chorus 1]
And I can feel it in my soul
Now the end is getting near
I can hear the devil laughing
And it's ringing in my ears
[Verse 2]
Long ago, he chose us
To inherit all his kingdom
And we were blessed
With life
But wandering away
We disobeyed him in the garden
And stumbled into night
[Chorus 2]
And I can feel it in my soul
Now the end is getting near
I can hear the angel's reaping
And it's ringing in my ears
We are all like foolish puppets
Who, desiring to be kings
Now lie pitifully crippled
After cutting our own strings
[Verse 3]
But God said, "I forgive you
I will face you man to man
And win your love again"
Oh, how could there be possibly
A greater gift of love
Than dying for a friend?
[Chorus 3]
And I can feel it in my soul
Now the end is getting near
I can hear the devil laughing
And it's ringing in my ears
We are all like foolish puppets
Who, desiring to be kings
Now lie pitifully crippled
After cutting our own strings
[Outro]
Oh, oh
Cutting our own strings
Oh, oh
Cutting our own strings
Oh, oh
Fond memories of seeing Randy years ago in the early 1970’s at Anderson College in Anderson, Indiana
He came to my college too! Cental Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington in about 1978 or '79. ❤
I'm 39 now, grew up as listening to this with my mom as a child. She used to play Keith Green, Petra, 2nd Chapter of Acts and of course Randy
Your Mom listened to the same great Jesus music back in the 70’s that I was a part of- The Jesus movement- what a time that was-
@BethMollet-p4j I was born in 83' so I missed out but at least my childhood memories are filled with it I suppose
