I’m one year into understanding the Post Mil view. I have a lifelong tradition of the pre mil view. Post millennialist has lit a fire under me that has caused me to get into the word like never before. This video was very encouraging.
I’m really enjoying listening to speakers about post mil. It makes much more sense than pre. It has ignited my Bible study fire as well! God bless you.
The saddest thing is seeing people who close their minds to this understanding. I tried and tried to understand the Bible. Hours of looking at Ezekiel, Daniel, Revelations... Recently come across Gary Demar, Ken Gentry and now this. It now makes sense. I feel blessed and it feels good. 🙏.
When the Lord returns will he find faith on the earth? This rhetorical question teaches that there will be few true believers at the second advent. The days will be like the days of Noah...violence filled the earth, (see MMA fighting etc) wicked imaginations (see most films, TV, novels)
In 1990 when Christ saved me, I was spiritually starving to death. I visited the local bookstore in Yuma, Az and came across “The Late Great Planet Earth” by Hal Lindsey. Being a baby Christian, I devoured the book and instantly became Pre mill for the next 30 years. I put trust and confidence in everything Hal Lindsey wrote. In the last 18 months the Lord has opened my eyes to the fact that there is indeed another way to interpret scripture ! Hallelujah My recent attempts to share my new found belief’s with my friends who are still intently awaiting the Rapture have fallen on deaf ears.
This is the danger of Christianity in the West. People instead of reading the Scriptures follow men. There are tons of books they read, and then they look into the Bible. I thought how deprived I was born in Slovakia (part of former Czechoslovakia) when I was saved into total spiritual desert and there was hardly anybody to fellowship with let alone to read some books... With thay being said, I devoured SCRIPTURES. And after long study I came to an understanding pf the Historic Premill position (as I understood the term later). Any other Christian I have met back there - if not influenced by those learned men who have way too much time on their hands - was the same. The Historic Premill. Just like the Disciple of the apostle John Papias which I later learned wrote the earliest writings on tje topic of eschatology. Hmmmm, and the very Early church was historic premill as well... Then I came to the West. If I omit total indifference of the Scriptures, absolute lack of passion of any kind towards Christ and His disciples, I found that many folks here are very educated. They read so many books that I could not even if I lived 100 years more. And then they come with those teachings of men. And so full if confidence oooh, "Lord opened my eyes!". No, He didn't. You were satisfied in the teachings of men, every Post Mill or Amill has the same story. "I have been this or that until I listened to this or that man... First eschtology I have ever heard when my English was good enough was John MacArthur. I love John very much. But guess what? I already knew the Scriptures enough to not to believe his position. Went back through it and was assured of being Historic Premill big time. Don't listen to men. Listen to the Word of God. In it, there's no Postmillenialism found...

I consider you my brother in Christ, and I'll pray for your peace. I've been studying scripture for a long time, and, I "land" on John MacArthur's understanding. I've studied this subject for years to adequately understand the truth of this Eschatological reality. Fortunately, I didn't get sidetracked with bad exegesis. Knowing that my Lord can return at any time, just strengthens my faith and purpose for ministry. Because of God's word, I have a renewed sense of urgency to reach the lost. I'm held responsible not only for what I believe and affirm in my own life, but what I cause others to believe and affirm in theirs. As an Itinerant pastor at 67 years old, I understand God's word by the Holy Spirit alone. My personal inclinations to wrongly dissect scripture have come to an end. My thoughts are worthless compared to God's word. I'm not interested in modern-day philosophies or the wisdom of this world. Please minister to the world, because the whole world lies in the lap of the Devil. 1 John 5. The world is led by their father the Devil, but "we" are led by the spirit of God, the word of truth. As for me, I've determined to know nothing among anyone, except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Steve Lawson is my pastor… we love the Word, but I pulled a few brothers aside at church this Sunday and called for a Bible study to look at Post Mil eschatology. Soli Deo Gloria!
That is why you are to take it one step at a time and show them through your joy! My husband and I joined a small local church that is not postmil or even Calvinistic but we are and have watched God work. My hubby is now leading a study Behold Your God to introduce a more robust faith. I have found many are living and standing on tradition and they are burning up. You would be surprised what God would do through you locally if you just respond and live in postmil faith. Since this is almost a year later I am curious on how you are doing?
Dreams don't have to be new revelation. I've heard that Muslims today, are having dreams about Jesus and they are so moved by the vividness, they search Him out and become Christians.
As for the first objection, a further counter is that if we look at the worldwide growth of the church since about 1800, it has been phenomenal. The objection is West-centric and lacks historical perspective. The Culture War may be going badly since the '60s but it's not the whole story.

@Tractorman 1956 I hope you're gonna be living very long. Like at least 500 years, but I still have no hope that those Scriptures will be provided to you. It is impossible to provide something that doesn't exist. They just enjoy their "deep knowledge" they connect the dots (that have no connection whatsoever) and then they talk for hours and how it is biblically fitting because someone else told them they believe it as well. That's Christianity in the West as of today. No discernment everyone is just waiting on what the men from the pulpits say. And 99.9% of the folks just take it. Some of them will dig deeper - but not for seeing whether it is so, but for reassuring themselves that this is correct... We need to be on guard. 1Thessalonians 5,21
I'm not sure why you're concerned with the arts and media. There will always be some who reject Christ, but here's some Scripture to look at. Psalm 2:1-9, Psalm 110:1, 1 Cor 15:25-26, Isaiah 9:7, Matt 13:31-32 (mustard seed), Matt 13:33 (yeast), Daniel 2:34-35 (mountain). That's off the top of my head.

70 AD was not the time and the way in which God established His New Covenant. The New Covenant, I believe, was established at Jesus’ last Passover when he basically told this disciples….next time you celebrate Passover, you will be doing it in remembrance of Me…My flesh and My blood, not animal flesh and blood. When was the next time they celebrated Passover? Not 70AD. He said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” Did the Father forgive them or was the Father out to get them? The destruction of the temple in 70AD was not a vengeful act of God but the result of the Old Covenant adherents own failure to give up the old wineskins and embrace the new. What happens to old wineskins? You cannot put the new wine into them lest they burst, and God did not. Indeed, the very fact that God wasn’t there in that old wineskins was what brought about its destruction. The Holy Spirit is the preserving influence in the human body temples of today. And when it is time for our departure, whether as individual members of the body, or as the body as a whole, our bodies of flesh will likewise perish (or be changed).

It seems to me that post-millennialism can be rejected easily just by going to the Book of Revelation and pointing out the fact that Christ clearly returns and reigns with the saints beheaded for their faith prior to the thousand years, which is in fact a long period of time without being symbolic.
How can jesus come back and there is no final judgement right after and no defeat of death immediately, as it clearly states that Jesus’ second coming will bring about the end of death…

The Holy Spirit absolutely can reveal anything in dreams, visions and prophecy- you are correct to be skeptical of something “new” revealed, but understanding of the truth comes through the Holy Spirit. Be careful that you don’t fall into the category of those who reject the Holy Spirit (or blaspheme against the Holy Spirit by declaring works of the Holy Spirit to be works of the devil. Jesus said that is unforgivable.) And yes- I have also heard beautiful testimonies of Muslims having visions and dreams of Jesus- and getting born again!!!!!
If great tribulation happened already then when did the seals, trumpets and bowls happen, when did abomination of desolation happen, when did Roman empire make a peace treaty then break it, what was the Gog Magog war, what about the mark of the beast and the boils that come upon those who took it, what about some of these seals destroying so much life, vegetation and waters, what was wormwood about, very convenient he took 4 “objections” that u could easily broad-stroke talk about without actually getting into these topics
You're are asking about 3 hours worth of questions. I'll give you one. In Luke's version of the Olivet Discourse (Luke 21) the abomination of desolation is described as seeing Jerusalem surrounded by armies. That happened in AD70. To get into the other questions check out Ken Gentry, Gary DeMar, Douglas Wilson and Jeff Durbin. They all go into great detail.
The Roman Empire did not make the “peace treaty “ that is the covenant and break it, Daniel is referring to Christ wh o broke the old covenant. The seals trumpets and bowls refer to gods work of judgment through history. Not speaking here as a post mill.
I appreciate the attempt here - and the commitment to exegesis that was put forth. Nevertheless- answers 2 and 4 were only an objection to dispy premill - so you will have a lot of yes and amen from amills on those points. And even in points 1 and 3 where there would be slight adjustments by an amill - there is much to agree with. Sadly the exhortation at the end lumped amills in with premills and was a straw man (just because you say you’re no building one doesn’t mean you didn’t) and certainly isn’t going to win any thinking amills to your view. The reality is that amills and postmills aren’t that different - but postmills have the burden of proof on them as we await this advancement of Christian prosperity to happen at some point. In the mean time - we preach the gospel and tell the world of God’s law and the coming judgment.
Just this week (Jan 2022) I was telling my son that I didn't think Jesus was talking about the broad way Matthew 7:13-14 being the contrast between the saved and lost but those who like Simon Peter in Luke 5:8-11 forsook all and followed Him and those who rejected. I said to my son that it seems that this separation was happening everyday in Jesus's ministry all the way from the rich man in Matthew 19:22 to His disciples in John 6:66. Today another light bulb came on from Luke 10:18 from this teaching. But the passage I have been wrestling for some time is Matthew 13:36-43. Because I was under dispensationalism all my life and not until serious study of the Gospels did things start to add up. I have been very resistant to Post-Millenium Eschatology for some time. I even scoffed at Doug Wilson when he made a comment that he believed hell would be sparsely populated. (Not that that point is still not up for debate) but I recognized a similar resistance in my thinking from before. One scripture that I couldn't find peace with was Matthew 13:37-43. I saw that in Matthew 15:13 Jesus was definitely and clearly talking about the Pharisees being uprooted because God had not planted them. But again I pushed it off far into a future judgement. But I wasn't able to get over that in Matthew 13:39 this was the end of the age. More and more I am seeing how there seems to be such a finality to the Jewish age from the Gospels and left with the question "Am I further hindering what Christ's Kingdom really is because of my resistance?" Just food for thought. But I told my son I think I just became a Post millennialist. Sorry for the ranting. God bless.

Using 2Cor to establish the *devil* as the ruler of this age, meaning the old covenant, when Paul clearly points out his context is a new covenant in chapter 3. You had to set up your argument in 2Cor and then run to Hebrews to knock it down. Not a good look.
This view is the minority for a reason! They fit the Scriptures to fit their view. Their Hermeneutics are not correct. But I will say, just because we disagree with our eschatology that doesn’t mean we are not brothers and sisters in Christ! The last thing we should do is cause division! Sound eisegesis indeed. Thank God we have the Holy Spirt to overcome false doctrine. Not false damning doctrine but false doctrine nontheless. Oh the unsanctified mind of sin and willful blindness. This is where the plain simplicity of scripture is obscured through false premises and bad hermeneutics. I do not doubt that pre mill Christian love their Lord and his word it is just that they do not recognize the deceitfulness of the remaimig sin in the heart that has a carnal attachment to this present age for a false hope. If our hope is in this life onlly then we are of all men most miserable the apostle tells us. Not that a pre mill position has only this temporal hope but that it places too much emphasis on seeing good things gospel wise in the world. One passage a doctrine does not make. But let that one passage (Revelation 20:1-4) subject itself to all the New Testament has to say on any particular doctrine and thereby yeild the only proper interpretation of the one text. Post millenialism operates from the other end and refuses to see how not one writer of our New Testament including our Lord Jesus ever alluded or even hinted at some further glory to come international upon the world at some latter stage of the new covenant dispensation. Apparently preachers see something that somehow escaped Peter Paul and John. That of itself ought to give any serious and sincere Christian and student of holy writ pause as to the truthfulness of this eschatology position. Paul warned about how the simplicity of faith in Christ can be easily manipulated by cunning and sophistry. Even by some good men.

As an Itinerant pastor at 67 years old, I understand God's word by the Holy Spirit alone. My personal inclinations to wrongly dissect scripture have come to an end. My thoughts are worthless compared to God's word.
I'm not interested in modern-day philosophies or the wisdom of this world. Please minister to the world, because the whole world lies in the lap of the Devil. 1 John 5. The world is led by their father the Devil, but "we" are led by the spirit of God, the word of truth. As for me, I've determined to know nothing among anyone, except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

My husband and I joined a small local church that is not postmil or even Calvinistic but we are and have watched God work. My hubby is now leading a study Behold Your God to introduce a more robust faith. I have found many are living and standing on tradition and they are burning up. You would be surprised what God would do through you locally if you just respond and live in postmil faith. Since this is almost a year later I am curious on how you are doing?
Dreams don't have to be new revelation. I've heard that Muslims today, are having dreams about Jesus and they are so moved by the vividness, they search Him out and become Christians.
As for the first objection, a further counter is that if we look at the worldwide growth of the church since about 1800, it has been phenomenal. The objection is West-centric and lacks historical perspective. The Culture War may be going badly since the '60s but it's not the whole story.

I hope you're gonna be living very long. Like at least 500 years, but I still have no hope that those Scriptures will be provided to you. It is impossible to provide something that doesn't exist. They just enjoy their "deep knowledge" they connect the dots (that have no connection whatsoever) and then they talk for hours and how it is biblically fitting because someone else told them they believe it as well. That's Christianity in the West as of today. No discernment everyone is just waiting on what the men from the pulpits say. And 99.9% of the folks just take it. I'm not sure why you're concerned with the arts and media. There will always be some who reject Christ, but here's some Scripture to look at. Psalm 2:1-9, Psalm 110:1, 1 Cor 15:25-26, Isaiah 9:7, Matt 13:31-32 (mustard seed), Matt 13:33 (yeast), Daniel 2:34-35 (mountain). That's off the top of my head.

70 AD was not the time and the way in which God established His New Covenant. The New Covenant, I believe, was established at Jesus’ last Passover when he basically told this disciples….next time you celebrate Passover, you will be doing it in remembrance of Me…My flesh and My blood, not animal flesh and blood. When was the next time they celebrated Passover? Not 70AD. He said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” Did the Father forgive them or was the Father out to get them? The destruction of the temple in 70AD was not a vengeful act of God but the result of the Old Covenant adherents own failure to give up the old wineskins and embrace the new. What happens to old wineskins? You cannot put the new wine into them lest they burst, and God did not. Indeed, the very fact that God wasn’t there in that old wineskins was what brought about its destruction. The Holy Spirit is the preserving influence in the human body temples of today. And when it is time for our departure, whether as individual members of the body, or as the body as a whole, our bodies of flesh will likewise perish (or be changed).

It seems to me that post-millennialism can be rejected easily just by going to the Book of Revelation and pointing out the fact that Christ clearly returns and reigns with the saints beheaded for their faith prior to the thousand years, which is in fact a long period of time without being symbolic.
That does not refute it in the slightest.
How can jesus come back and there is no final judgement right after and no defeat of death immediately, as it clearly states that Jesus’ second coming will bring about the end of death…

The Holy Spirit absolutely can reveal anything in dreams, visions and prophecy- you are correct to be skeptical of something “new” revealed, but understanding of the truth comes through the Holy Spirit. Be careful that you don’t fall into the category of those who reject the Holy Spirit (or blaspheme against the Holy Spirit by declaring works of the Holy Spirit to be works of the devil. Jesus said that is unforgivable.)
And yes- I have also heard beautiful testimonies of Muslims having visions and dreams of Jesus- and getting born again!!!!!
If great tribulation happened already then when did the seals, trumpets and bowls happen, when did abomination of desolation happen, when did Roman empire make a peace treaty then break it, what was the Gog Magog war, what about the mark of the beast and the boils that come upon those who took it, what about some of these seals destroying so much life, vegetation and waters, what was wormwood about, very convenient he took 4 “objections” that u could easily broad-stroke talk about without actually getting into these topics
You're are asking about 3 hours worth of questions. I'll give you one. In Luke's version of the Olivet Discourse (Luke 21) the abomination of desolation is described as seeing Jerusalem surrounded by armies. That happened in AD70. To get into the other questions check out Ken Gentry, Gary DeMar, Douglas Wilson and Jeff Durbin. They all go into great detail.
The Roman Empire did not make the “peace treaty “ that is the covenant and break it, Daniel is referring to Christ wh o broke the old covenant. The seals trumpets and bowls refer to gods work of judgment through history. Not speaking here as a post mill.
I appreciate the attempt here - and the commitment to exegesis that was put forth.
Nevertheless- answers 2 and 4 were only an objection to dispy premill - so you will have a lot of yes and amen from amills on those points.
And even in points 1 and 3 where there would be slight adjustments by an amill - there is much to agree with.
Sadly the exhortation at the end lumped amills in with premills and was a straw man (just because you say you’re no building one doesn’t mean you didn’t) and certainly isn’t going to win any thinking amills to your view.
The reality is that amills and postmills aren’t that different - but postmills have the burden of proof on them as we await this advancement of Christian prosperity to happen at some point. In the mean time - we preach the gospel and tell the world of God’s law and the coming judgment.
Just this week (Jan 2022) I was telling my son that I didn't think Jesus was talking about the broad way Matthew 7:13-14 being the contrast between the saved and lost but those who like Simon Peter in Luke 5:8-11 forsook all and followed Him and those who rejected. I said to my son that it seems that this separation was happening everyday in Jesus's ministry all the way from the rich man in Matthew 19:22 to His disciples in John 6:66. Today another light bulb came on from Luke 10:18 from this teaching. But the passage I have been wrestling for some time is Matthew 13:36-43. Because I was under dispensationalism all my life and not until serious study of the Gospels did things start to add up. I have been very resistant to Post-Millenium Eschatology for some time.
I even scoffed at Doug Wilson when he made a comment that he believed hell would be sparsely populated. (Not that that point is still not up for debate) but I recognized a similar resistance in my thinking from before.
One scripture that I couldn't find peace with was Matthew 13:37-43. I saw that in Matthew 15:13 Jesus was definitely and clearly talking about the Pharisees being uprooted because God had not planted them. But again I pushed it off far into a future judgement. But I wasn't able to get over that in Matthew 13:39 this was the end of the age.
More and more I am seeing how there seems to be such a finality to the Jewish age from the Gospels and left with the question "Am I further hindering what Christ's Kingdom really is because of my resistance?"
Just food for thought. But I told my son I think I just became a Post millennialist.

Using 2Cor to establish the *devil* as the ruler of this age, meaning the old covenant, when Paul clearly points out his context is a new covenant in chapter 3. You had to set up your argument in 2Cor and then run to Hebrews to knock it down. Not a good look.
This view is the minority for a reason! They fit the Scriptures to fit their view. Their Hermeneutics are not correct. Sound eisegesis indeed. Thank God we have the Holy Spirt to overcome false doctrine. Not false damning doctrine but false doctrine nontheless. Oh the unsanctified mind of sin and willful blindness. This is where the plain simplicity of scripture is obscured through false premises and bad hermeneutics. I do not doubt that pre mill Christian love their Lord and his word it is just that they do not recognize the deceitfulness of the remaimig sin in the heart that has a carnal attachment to this present age for a false hope. If our hope is in this life onlly then we are of all men most miserable the apostle tells us. Not that a pre mill position has only this temporal hope but that it places too much emphasis on seeing good things gospel wise in the world. One passage a doctrine does not make. But let that one passage (Revelation 20:1-4) subject itself to all the New Testament has to say on any particular doctrine and thereby yeild the only proper interpretation of the one text. Post millenialism operates from the other end and refuses to see how not one writer of our New Testament including our Lord Jesus ever alluded or even hinted at some further glory to come international upon the world at some latter stage of the new covenant dispensation.
Apparently preachers see something that somehow escaped Peter Paul and John. That of itself ought to give any serious and sincere Christian and student of holy writ pause as to the truthfulness of this eschatology position. Paul warned about how the simplicity of faith in Christ can be easily manipulated by cunning and sophistry. Even by some good men.
