@@MelissaBackwoods Check out the Military WW1 and WW2 Bolo knife. An African-American soldier won the Medal of Honor using his in combat, Sgt. Henry Johnson in WW1. It is a BEAST of a blade if you can find one.
I would Definitely Like to see a part 2 of your Weird knife Collection and Possibly a 3rd and 4th if you have that many Weird Knives, Which I Believe you do, Lol. I Love Your Videos and Thank You for Sharing
Your collection of knives is amazing. Many, if not most knife reviewers only keep a couple dozen knives because they get knives for review then pass them on to other reviewers...they are not true collectors as you are. Part of my enjoyment is when I find one of the knives from my collection in your collection. You are doing a great job!
It would be great if this becomes a series. You gave me a gift idea for my Dad with the Woodman's Pal. He's trying to blaze a trail through the woods between his new home and a river.
The best hunting knife I have ever owned was a Yukon Hunter I bought in a huge knife store up in the Norh Carolina mountains back in 1972. It was in my fishing tackle box when it was stolen. They were made in Germany and are very rare. There is three of them listed on Ebay right now. $75, $79.95, and $100.
I just started a few months ago assembling a collection of Bowie knives, my favorite design, being from Arkansas, but I came across a strange Mossy Oak knife set at Walmart. It is designed as a prep set for game and comes with interchangeable blades ….skinning, gut hook, serrated filet blade, and is sharp. When u sing, if a blade gets dull, just exchange it for a sharp one. I also bought an extra set of blades. Looks to be a very practical set up for hunters and fishermen. They recommend not having a blade installed when carrying in the sheath! Sheath has a pocket for a plastic case for the blades. Thanks for your video for reading my comment!
Great video! I would love to see a video on all of the Emerson Wave knives that are available on the market. I am very curious about the different style emerson knives and where they are made.
Dear Melissa I hope that this finds you well and happy. I hope that your cold has taken a hike now. Could you please take us through what you look for when purchasing a multipurpose knife that anyone across the globe should look for, especially for outdoor activities such as camping? Thank you for your channel and your work.
Nice I really like that Viper Knives "Keeper 2" design, not sure about that safety mechanism but I guess you get used to it. I used to be into knives years ago had a few nice ones from Cold Steel, Gerber, Victorinox and Leatherman. LOL when I was Active Duty USAF in the 80’s I carried both a Leatherman tool and a Tanto Folder from Cold Steel. These days I carry a SAK and a folding boxcutter not exciting but they are work tools.
Just some background that you might already know; Sai aren't knives. They were developed in Japan from forked farm implements used to move grasses, hay, straw... The handles were shortened. They weren't sharpened along the central shaft except for the point most of the time because of the way that they were used as a Defensive weapon. The Sai were further modified later in Japan to have only one shorter side tine and called a Jutte or Jitte used by the Japanese Police as a baton like melee weapon.
Okay Miss Melissa, I love that you are a primitive survivalist, I spent part of my childhood with my grandfather on the Reservation in East Texas, he was of the Comanche Nation, he was all about nature and I learned many things from him, keep doing the great work
You should collaborate with April Wilkerson to create an amazing room for your knife collection. That would be fun to watch and perhaps help others with their collection displays.
OMG ! You own such an incredible collection of blades !!!! You made me dream ! Then, the thing that is just disapointing for me as i live in 🇫🇷 France (i am French by the way) is that even if i wanted to get one of those exceptional knives, i just couldn’t because most of those are not available in this country. Such a shame Many many thanks for having shared with us such a great part of your collection and love from France 🤙🏻 Rodolphe
i love this and want a million more videos like this. also you helped me get back into collecting so from me and my credit card companies: thanks a lot!
Melissa love your videos, and have some questions. 1. It seems like these days when I buy a knife I always see a proposition 65 warning on the box “May cause cancer or other reproductive Harm” should I be overly concerned? Maybe do a video about the warning?
I have that one as well! Would actually be a cool one to include in the video because it is a pretty peculiar knife, not the most practical but by far one of my favorite looking blades
Have you ever considered a hair-pin knife that doubles as part of your edc and your daily routine? I have a 5 year daughter and shes curious into the knife community also and she asked if there was a design out there that she can use with her hairdos and can also be discreet

6:12 essentially an axe shaped knife instead of a miniature axe since it's got handle scales on a tang and not an axe head hafted on a shaft.
