Great example of breaking some "RULES" of photography. Placing the castle and horizon in the center of the photograph, along with the movement of the clouds, brings a very nice dynamic to the shot. Well done...
Again you managed to bring us a great mix of two important items; the magic of photography and the mystic of the Scots ... with a third important element ... the music. Thank you so much for this 😊
I really dig your methodical, patient approach to photography. Scotland, with it's subtly beautiful scenery and ever changing conditions, definitely rewards those who can chill and wait for the good stuff. Good effort mate!
I just don't understand why anyone gives these videos a thumbs-down. The videos are wonderful. Very professionally done and the photos are amazing. And I really appreciate the instructions on getting to places and when to be there. Other UA-camrs don't usually do that and it is very helpful. I'm considering a UK trip and your videos are great for planning purposes. Thanks Mads!
I watch a lot of landscape photography videos on UA-cam but yours just stand out! The location information that you add is simply invaluable for people like me who haven't had an opportunity to visit stunning locations like this yet. Fantastic.
Seeing the environmental condition I think you really have the right view on the perspective and sufficient patience to captrue the best moment. Thank you
I "popped my Scotland landscape photography cherry" back in February. My first trip outside of Wales. I only had four days, so tried to fit in as much as I could - Glencoe, Glenfinnan, Loch Ness, Skye, and the Commando Monument. It was all a bit rushed so while I got some pics I was quite happy with, I couldn't afford to wait around for the best light. I'll definitely be heading back there as soon as I can.
Really enjoyed your work. The Bridge of Orchy birch trees looked magical. As a Scot, I have been to all these locations but they never looked as good as your images. Thank you.
It was very interesting to watch the time lapse - a wonderful demonstration of how the light shifts and how you jump into the slot with the right light. The fast moving light can be very frustrating! A beautiful image of the silver birch too. My favourite in this video is the last one - 15:20 - moody, eerie, very Bronte-like.
Great as always, I was lucky enough to have visited Scotland and all of theses locations earlier this year, sadly my pics weren’t good, but you’ve given me reason to try again next year!
I live in Scotland, just south of Glasgow, and have just bought a Nikon D750 with a 20mm lens. I've visited what you have shown and plan to wear my 20mm lens out (I have other focal lengths). Your photograph of Kilchurn Castle (14:42) is mindblowing.
thanks for doing my country justice! Your photographs are of the highest quality of any photographer/bloggers that I follow on youtube, keep up the good work!
Brilliant video of my homeland. I thought your overhead image of Kilchurn Castle was very interesting and I've not seen it shot like that before. I think it worked very well. I grew up only a few miles from that castle so it was great seeing a bit of home. Can't wait to see what you make of Glencoe!
Master touch yet again, loved all your images but the drone image and the use of the white border complimenting the vertical walls of the castle, very nice
Another superb video, Mads. Especially liked the second zoomed in image of Ellean Donan Castle and the steam train traversing the viaduct. Always look forward to your new videos.
Spot on Mads, probably the best pictures of Kilchurn Castle I've seen to date. I understand your logic behind reserving a full video to Glancoe and Skye. Can't wait for them to be published. Tip top 📸👌👌👌
Great vid of my homeland. Sometimes it takes a visitor to give renewed respect for a familiar place as you see it afresh through their eyes. Great videos. You have a new subscriber.
Another beautiful video Mads. A good introduction to popular well connected locations. Weather is everything here, so be responsive to it if you are staying and not passing through. Note that the Jacobite stream train is operated by west coast railways and is primarily a summer attraction. The Christmas trains will be great to shoot if there is snow too...
Watching your videos gets me motivated to do more landscape photography. Seeing your process, and the final result, is a real treat. Thank you, Mads! Keep making this content!
Very enjoyable and helpful film again Mads. We'll be up there in a couple of weeks and Kilchurn Castle was on our "must visit" list too. The advance information about the different spots to shoot it from is really useful.
Lovely pictures and one of the best landscape photography videos you have here. Not many explain details on the location, time to shoot, lens to use, etc. I am going to these locations end of March next year and this video and your Glencoe one will help me a lot. Thank you.
excellent video again Mads...the sliver birch shot is beautiful and the kilchurn castle ones are very moody....also love the drone shot from above kilchurn ....look forward to the next video
Wonderful video, Mads, many thanks. Scotland is indeed a beautiful place for landscape photography and in this video you captured some really lovely images. I'm a new subscriber and look forward to your future videos.
I watch a lot of landscape photography videos on Scotland and yours popped up as a suggested channel. I'm just getting ready to watch your Lake District video; I'll be there for a workshop in early February-beautiful place. Thanks again!
Wow, you really captured some beautiful images from a beautiful country! Well done. Your vlogs are very enjoyable and informative. Looking forward to more. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you liked Scotland, Mads. It is a beautiful country, as is Denmark! Subscribed after seeing this and your video of the boats at Slettestrand. I am from the eastern side of Scotland, but thanks for visiting, haste ye back!! :-)
Dear Mads, You say this video is all over the place..... i have only one word for it: .....Fantastic ! 👏 (Content, music, footage, images...all is great 👍) Regards, Ben
Keep up the excellent work :) Looking forward to the video in Glen Coe. If you ever get the chence to head to Scotland again, I highly recommend comming to the Isles of Lewis and Harris. The beaches on the west coast of Harris are truly breathtaking.
Thanks a lot Shaun - I did look into them, but it was a bit time consuming getting there and we have 7000km of sandy coastline in Denmark so I'm kinda not drawn too much towards that ;)
Great video again Mads, I try and visit Scotland every year, stunning place with great access for everyone.. Great images and the image with the fuzzy reflections looks amazing.. Well done looking forward to Glencoe next week...
Very good eilean donan shot. Its wierd how such a small shift in the perspective can shake off a lot for the cliches surrounding the typical composition
Thanks Stephen. Been out twice and both times made a right pigs ear of it so haven't put anything up in a while. Been out to Kilchurn castle last weekend as well but memory card wasn't saving although all seemed well. Hope to try and get something up soon. You can follow my trips on my facebook under Renegade Scot ;) Keep an eye out for Paul Johnsons next film.
Keep at it Ray as I think your blogs are brilliant, not just the photography videos, the wild camping blogs are just as good. I follow Paul and I also think his vids are great. He's a very positive fella.
FANTASTIC, Finally you put up the Scotland video. all locations i have visited and have shot at. well done outstanding video as normal Mads. Also it is pronounced Mallaig "Mall ag", you also missed scotland most famous secluded treeat Millarchy point on loch lomond,
Thank you very much James! Have you even photographed that silver birch? :O It seemed so random to me :) I did indeed miss that lone tree - I didn't know it existed until you told me - now I have a reason to get back :)
Mads Peter Iversen Silver Birch no never photographed that. Glenfinnan viaduct yes, kilchurn castle yes & Eileen castle yes. The lone tree at Loch Lomond is near to Balmaha. Can’t wait for glencoe and Skye video to tell you what you missed lol. Still stunning video 👍🏻👍🏻
Lovely video and I do admire your ability to make great images from poor light. I also like the fact that you give advice on the best focal lengths for a given location. Subscribed now.
Another epic video Mads! After watching all your videos over and over, I've finally bought a proper DSLR (got an insane deal on a new-old-stock Nikon D610) to step my photo game up a notch... I had been taking all my pictures with a cellphone camera that couldn't be shot in manual (and could only shoot JPEGs), I'm pretty excited to start exploring again and photograph more (in a few weeks... as I'm finishing my master's degree in physical therapy)! Also, I can totally relate, when you say that you have to adjust when life gives you lemons, I feel that everytime I've went out exploring in (expectedly, sub)optimal conditions... I ended up being much more spontaneous and creative, which resulted in my favourite photos of mine so far. Really looking forward to the episode on the Isle of Skye! Cheers! :)
Thank you! Lots of good advice and nice photos. Very useful since I will visit Scotland later this year. The long exposure is exactly what I would have done in the „lemon situation“
Great example of breaking some "RULES" of photography. Placing the castle and horizon in the center of the photograph, along with the movement of the clouds, brings a very nice dynamic to the shot. Well done...
Thank you very much Frank! :)
I admire you ability to make lemonade from almost anything. Keep it up.
Thank you very much John! :)
Love the Harry Potter shot and the beautiful lighting on the tree shot. Love the last one of the castle.
Having lived in Scotland it never fails to impress and your images help to do just that, showing off its beauty.....
Thank you very much Mark! Means a lot coming from someone who lived there :)
Again you managed to bring us a great mix of two important items; the magic of photography and the mystic of the Scots ... with a third important element ... the music. Thank you so much for this 😊
Thanks a lot! Happy you see it that way! Be sure to check out the musicians I use - links in the description :)
I really dig your methodical, patient approach to photography. Scotland, with it's subtly beautiful scenery and ever changing conditions, definitely rewards those who can chill and wait for the good stuff. Good effort mate!
Thank you very much Robert! I kinda feel I can do it way better with giving time to the different locations, but there's just never enough time ;)
I just don't understand why anyone gives these videos a thumbs-down. The videos are wonderful. Very professionally done and the photos are amazing. And I really appreciate the instructions on getting to places and when to be there. Other UA-camrs don't usually do that and it is very helpful. I'm considering a UK trip and your videos are great for planning purposes. Thanks Mads!
Philip Culbertson thank you so much! Honestly I don't know either. It's probably people who think "popular" photography is the work of the devil :p
I watch a lot of landscape photography videos on UA-cam but yours just stand out! The location information that you add is simply invaluable for people like me who haven't had an opportunity to visit stunning locations like this yet. Fantastic.
Thank you so much Mark! I think that is such important information! If you wish to inspire people, then obviously you should tell them where to go ;)
Seeing the environmental condition I think you really have the right view on the perspective and sufficient patience to captrue the best moment. Thank you
Thanks a lot Axel! :)
I really like the lone silver birch against the mountains with the dramatic light. So many beautiful contrasting colours.
There's never enough time! I'll also go back at some point! :)
Watching the Photographing Britain series, absolutely outstanding, and your images! Well truly stunning.
Really enjoyed your work. The Bridge of Orchy birch trees looked magical. As a Scot, I have been to all these locations but they never looked as good as your images. Thank you.
The drone photo of the caste was my favorite one
Thanks Christian, it does give another perspective to the world! :)
Another good job. The whole Britain series has been wonderful.
Thank you so much William! :)
Stunning images a pleasure to watch 👍
Thank you very much Mark! :)
Another magic segment. Last drone still is great and different. Keep them going.
Thanks a lot Tom! :)
Every vlog you release sets the bar higher. Fantastic video production and amazing photographs. Pure quality!
Thanks you so much Rob! Means a lot - I just want to make something I want to watch myself :)
We explained beautiful location
Thank you :)
Again some great photos, l loved the picture of the Silver Birch. Keep up the good work.
Brilliant! This is the first series of yours that I have watched and it certainly won't be the last. Thank you for your inspiring art.
Thank you so much Steve :) My Faroes series is very popular too, but I did change the format a wee bit for this series :)
Revisiting your videos from Glencoe. I watched them before I went on my first photo trip to Glencoe last year, and it's so amazing to see them again 😁
I wish these videos were longer,I'm really loving watching them, they are very professionally put together and the photography is fantastic.
Thank you very much richard! It is very much appreciated :)
What a gorgeous shot's of Kilchurn Castle 🏰
Thanks a lot Gosia :)
Another great video Mads! Looking forward to the next one already! Cheers
Thanks a lot Francis! :)
Thank you very much Loreta! I'm happy you liked that photo. I find it very special and unique too :)
Great as always, I was lucky enough to have visited Scotland and all of theses locations earlier this year, sadly my pics weren’t good, but you’ve given me reason to try again next year!
Thank you very much Gary, you have to go back for sure! :)
Thank you so much Russell! That means a lot! There're some pretty good photographers out there :)
Great video as always and beautiful photos! The photo of the tree with the mountain in the background was out of this world!
Thank you so much Christian! Yeah I really love that shot myself too! :)
beautiful pictures ...I really like the one where you stopped and took the picture of the tree in the light and the hills in the background..
Brilliant video of my homeland. I thought your overhead image of Kilchurn Castle was very interesting and I've not seen it shot like that before. I think it worked very well. I grew up only a few miles from that castle so it was great seeing a bit of home. Can't wait to see what you make of Glencoe!
Thanks a lot Julian! :) Glen Coe will be awesome!
Julian Baird - Landscape Photography i
I'm late to the party, but am loving your whole Britain series.
Mads that image over the water of Kilchurn Castle was lovely and dramatic. Looking forward to your visit to Skye.
Thank you so much Christopher! Yeah turned out pretty good :)
Master touch yet again, loved all your images but the drone image and the use of the white border complimenting the vertical walls of the castle, very nice
Thank you so much Garry! I'm happy you like the white boarder - I really like that too myself :)
Wow so amazing. Finally I go next year for the first time to schotland
Another superb video, Mads. Especially liked the second zoomed in image of Ellean Donan Castle and the steam train traversing the viaduct. Always look forward to your new videos.
Thank you so much Tony! Happy you like the photos :)

Oh I can imagine it would look amazing with snow all around the train :)
Thanks a lot :)

All great shots I love the train shot.
Thank you Bill! :)

Waiting on your next blog Ray. 👍🏻

As always, a wonderful video. I've not seen Harry Potter, but I'd love to see that viaduct.
Thanks a lot John! There are actually some pretty remarkable English landscapes present in the Harry Potter movies :)
Another great video, thanks Mads.
Love your photos and videos. So glad I've found your channel. Very informative.
Thanks a lot :) Welcome aboard :)
Fantastic Photography and Explanations of Your Trip
Thanks a lot Allan! :)
The eastern viewpoint is my favorite of the Kilchurn Castle photos. Great video, as always.
Thank you very much Theresa :)

Awesome video Mads! Love the images. Dang, I gotta get to Scotland!
Thank you so much Tony! Indeed you must! :)

Thank you so much Biff! Oh well... a little travel here and now is always good ;)
Magical set of images and having just found your page, now a subscriber.
Thanks a lot Scotty! How did you find it? :)
Cheers! :)
Cheers Yann! Congratz with the new old camera ;) I'm happy I can inspire this much! :)
Another excellent vlog 👍
Excellent. Liked the drone work...
Thank you so much Mike :)
Your videos are the best!
Thank you! Lots of good advice and nice photos. Very useful since I will visit Scotland later this year. The long exposure is exactly what I would have done in the „lemon situation“
Thank you...
Great video as always. Beautiful images and you have really captured the beauty and splendor of Scotland. Thank you for sharing.
You're very welcome John and thanks a lot :)
