@@xp.wesley858 pretty much. But think of it like this. Every comic is a graphic novel, not every graphic novel is a 'comic'. Comic is more of a cultural thing. Manga is just a graphic novel.
@@xp.wesley858 Basically, but it’s a distinction based on culture, art style, reading order (right to left), mostly being black and white (with exeptions), commonly used fonts, commonly used tropes ect.

Correction to Accelerator's "limitation" without giving too much spoiler. Accelerator by himself without aid can compute twice as fast as 10,000 super computers computing simultaneously. But after an incident, he was forced to use a device to stimulate his brain to recover half of his original computing power and with a time limit. Yet even after being nerfed, he never got dethroned from his title.
If/when you get into this you'll want to write a lot of stuff down. All of the tie-ins and connections between the shows and small details within are so rewarding to notice. I really hope you get into this eventually.

Railgun is the best anime material this franchise has. Index season 3 is rushed and cramped. Index proper is best consumed in the original light novel format, because wow are there a lot of exposition and inner monologues there.
Index came first before MCU, by the way.
I think I speak for many when I say I'd love a reaction to the Raildex series. Such an underappreciated series, and hard to find reactions to it.
nah, the anime is trash. Most of the seasons, not all of them (Railgun S and T are fire tho). If u want him to reatc or give his opinion about toaru, he should just read the novels of Index, which is literally the best serie of novels that I've ever read

@@Kirito_2016 yeah that's what I said, toaru Series is trash when it comes to the Animes (Railgun s1, Index 1, Index 2, Index 3 and Accelerator). The only good seasons are Railgun S (the Silent Party arc is trash too tho) and Railgun T
This series is really good and has a very dedicated and loyal fanbase, especially for Index and I’m one of those. Currently, the light novel has 40+ volumes which is basically 22 volumes Old Testament, 22 volumes New Testament, 1 Volume New Testament Reverse, and currently has 4 or so volumes of Genesis Testament. The popularity of this series in Japan is so big and Touma, unlike what Gigguk said in this video, is really a good main character. The problem is, his character, just like what any LN MC problems have, are mostly what goes through their heads. He has a unique view in the world and helps anyone without any questions due to the situation he is in - I’m not going to say it cause it’ll spoil tons of the story progression. The problem is, many of these are internal monologues and mainly of them are in New Testament which is currently not yet adapted nor translated into English - at least legally. The Index has 3 main characters and the one that we get the most screen time is Kamijou Touma a.k.a Winner of Best Main Protagonist in a Light Novel for 3 years in the awards for Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! which is a yearly awards for light novel series and Touma won 3 of them. The other MC is Accelerator and the other is Hamazura - which you won’t see until the final half of season 2 and more explored on season 3 until Kadokawa decides to cut the episode count and rush at least 14 volumes into 26 episodes.
I'm still waiting for legal translations of the Index New Testament Light Novels.

I'm watching anime for almost 20 yrs btw I'm only 25 yrs old 😅 (DBZ,Yuyu Hakusho, Hunter x Hunter 1999 & 2011 versions, Naruto etc.) I really like different types of anime from easy ones to complicated ones. Some don't like anime with a lot of explanations (it bored them) and only likes anime with a lot of actions and easy to understand so I'm really glad that you are also into this kind of anime.
I loved this series so much. I wish we get another season soon of any of the three stories soon. My most favourite was Railgun, then Accelerator and finally Index (season 3 was kinda iffy of Index but I'll let it slide). Highly recommended it if you love world building.
S3 is trash.
And i wish s4 got a good adaptation cuz the new testament (index 1-3 is old testament) is just index but better.

@@sweiboi its not j.c. Staffs fault though. Believe it or not index s3 was supposed to have 36 episodes bcuz the team cant compress 10-13 novels in 24 episodes. But kadokawa fking cut the episodes by 10. Which resulted to the shitty pacing

I hope you have fun when you get deep into the Railgun/Index rabbit hole. When the time comes you will have to make a significant choice in the subject of Watch Order (this can be googled), but there are basically 4 options blending through Railgun + Index + Accelerator + Movie
1. Release Order (alternating full seasons/series)
2. Rough Chronological Order (alternating full seasons/series)
3. DETAILED Chronological order (episode/arc specific mazerun through all series)
4. Full Series Separation batches (Railgun or Index first)
this anime has a good amount of good action. can't surely say underrated though since i've just started to watch it myself not knowing very much bout its culture, hey, it's from 2008, we're super late. but some anime's from 2000's still rings out until now like steins;gate
Railgun can be watched standalone but the references to Index are so amazing and subtle it's rewarding if you're familiar with the the series chronological order!
Honestly I'd recommend watching Railgun first, then if/when you get hooked you can use Index as a sort of deep lore guide to really dive into the depth of the world and characters. Railgun works by far the best as a "full story with good pacing".
No lie, I watched each season as they came out. Index episode 1 had me hooked immediately once Touma was introduced. I love his character.
As a fan of Index season 2 and Railgun season 1 and 2, Index season 3 is bad. It's real bad. They merged like three seasons into one, so it's very jarring and you absolutely feel like you're missing stuff. If you thought "God of High School" was fast-paced, Index season 3 causes whiplash.
they adapt volume 14-22 in 24 episodes so it was really rushed even s1 and s2 is a bit rushed just a bit though...............

I recommend watching Index, Railgun and Accelerator in order + I believe there's two movies to go through aswell. It has an interesting storyline and you won't get bored of it, although it does take a little time to get to the good stuff. Overall, I give the entire series a 8/10

8:42 manga is like comic, you see images and bubbles with text. Light novel is a book with text that you read, it has rare images sometimes, but without text bubbles.
Images in Light Novels aren't rare. Re:Zero LN has 15 illustrations per book, for example.

A manga is a comic book or graphic novel - a story told in sequential art. A light novel is a prose book with illustrations. Called "light" because the content tends to be easy-reading and the size is small and portable
You should definitely check out " The Curse Of Ordinary " by Aleczander.... Highly recommended. Its a brief analysis of Oikawa Tooru from Haikyuu

It would be clear if you had seen a light novel. Light novels are basically that, novels. There are a few images mixed in every so often. Several chapters won't have images at all. Manga on the other hand are effectively the Japanese version of comic books. Sometimes light novels get adapted into manga, but even the light novels would be thicker. I'm used to them being twice as thick. Because they are almost all text they will often go into more details that would be omitted from their manga and anime counterparts.
Index is god tier. The light novel at least
There is a difference between "A Certain Magical Index" and "A Certain Scientific Railgun" they are 2 shows, but they do both happen in the same world.
And I am only writing this coz to me Railgun is really boring, but Index is awesome :D
Railgun simply validates and recontextualized everything Index showed. Without Railgun, no one would understand how much of an impact Touma had on Misaka.
trust all index fans put in the extra effort and are throwing it all up onto the internet to get more people into it. Every level 5 is very smart when it comes to their abilities. Thats not really an issue.

Personally Re: zero is the anime I dive that deep into. There is so much depth and so many contradictory story threads that I just can’t help but feel intruiged.
There are times when a character stated by the narration not to be a liar (’cause they are so smart they don’t need to lie to get what they want) completely contradicts themself, leaving the impression that both sides of the self contradictory statement is somehow true all at once.
You should watch it is very rewarding

I would recommend it it's a good show, but I wouldn't recommend reacting to it cause first it's a long show and not every episode is worth reacting to. But in over all it's a good show enjoyed it.
It is funny that you should mention One Piece as personally I consider Index to be the One Piece of Light Novels as the series is fuckin' long. It currently sits at 51 Volumes with no end in sight, and that's just the Main Series. There's also the various Light Novel and Manga Spin-Offs. And another thing that should be mentioned is that the Index Manga usually has two Volumes for each Light Novel Volume, and while there's only about half the number of Chapters in each Volume than in a Weekly series like One Piece, each Chapter is also twice as long, and One Piece is just past the 100th Volume mark (the actual Volume hasn't released yet). This means that if you include all of Index's side content, the Toaru Series is actually longer than One Piece. Also, while Index still has no end in sight like I mentioned, One Piece actually does.
Light Novel is a novel and Manga is comic
Manga is comicbooks, pictures with dialogue and speech bubbles. Light novlels are novels with a picture here and there. If you want an entertaining light novel i recommend buying and reading no game no life. If you want a really good manga that doesn't have that many chapters out yet, i recommemd either that time i reincarnated as a slime, or re:monster.

The real best way to get into Index is literally just read the LNs. The anime, while that's what got me into index, is mediocre in comparison to the LNs. While the beginning of the anime is quite boring, the LNs are good all the way through. Touma is actually a very very good character, and a lot of his char dev was cut in the anime which is unfortunate.
The LNs are really just phenomenal. It's my favorite book series, so if you have some spare time, give it a try, You really won't regret, believe me.
Also season 3 is shit, don't watch it

Accelerator is as smart as light , L , lelouch or maybe smarter , it's not that he needs to be smarter it's that "computer" is their because he was injured in a previous arc so for couple of months he has to wear it to actually fight.

I mean, the first season isn't that bad. Sure, compared to the novels it's rushed and poorly directed, but it's still better than Index s3. And given how rare Toaru reactions are to begin with, if he reacted to it I'd watch it all, though I can't speak for anyone else.

2. He read 1 or 2 Volumes and didn't understood Magic and thought Touma is boring this proves he doesn't care about character like how he likes Accelerator because he's edgy and has op power

@@subhosaha7320 No Touma didn't get "development" in NT. He just got more actual focus. In the words of the author himself, he laid bare the character and deconstructed him. He was already extremely interesting from the very first volume of OT.
