Since i finished reading the Othinus Arc a lot of points in Gigguk's video are wrong. The magic side is way better explained in the novels but since he did not bother reading it for some reason he just said nah to magic, but the thing i hate the most is the Touma part, well i'm not mad at Gigguk but more about the adaptation cutting out everything that makes Touma a Good Character, like his backstory was cutted off in S1, his fights got butchered but i personally still like it because of the final punch but only that, it's still trash compared to the novel, if i would recommend index to someone i would tell them to read the novel.
For me, I actually research a lot on every anime I watch to the point that its like I'm doing a research paper for them. Many anime watcher didn't like spoiler which is understandable because it can kill the hype but for me I don't really mind about spoiler well maybe because I usually read the source material (manga/LN) of anime that I watch so I already know what will happened in the anime. Sometimes I research what is the anime is all about even reading some of the plot & characters personality before I watch it for me to know if its worth it to give a shot and if its my genre of anime

Same here tbh Also have some memory issues personally, so tend to use wikis to refresh memory sometimes, but esp. if it's a series that's become a fixation [& w/ so much of Index bein based on rl laws/mythology, there's a lotta wiki-walker wormhole traps]
I take pride in my extensive knowledge of Index, yet despite the fact that I've read all Lights Novels and Spin off mangas and visited the Toaru wiki on a daily basis since 2015, there are still things I would not be able to explain. It's incredibly difficult to get to the very bottom of a series even when you're commited. I realized this when I got into Mahouka and discovered I couldn't understand half the words they were saying. The worst series to understand that I know of is either the Touhou series (99% of content isn't canon) or the Fate series ( -messed up- alternate universe scenarios for everyone)
Having a extensive knowledge of maths and science I actually really love how in depth the abilities of the characters are in index The fate series I just couldn’t keep up with if I’m being honest
Honestly Toaru’s science side is like a better MHA they have fucking Swatt teams with mech suits and even the number esper uses Guns while in MHA no body uses guns even though then kill %90 or heroes and villains and yes you can kill All might and Deku with one shot
I usually don’t research everything abot an anime, but there is one exeption for me, and that is Re: zero. So before season 2 dropped, I decided ai couldn’t wait, so I read the Web Novel for arc 4, and hooo boy did I not expect the level of lore that Tappei Nagatsuki was about to drop on me, given how I had only seen the first season of the anime (since arc 4/season 2 is really where the series begins for real, and the WN version is the one with the most lore, even if it’s not the exact same canon). Let’s just say that I caught up with the WN, and whenever Tappei goes and drops a new chapter, I immedietly go deepl the shit out of that thing. It’s not easy to get a decent translation out of a translation site, but I have managed to figure out how to force deepl to give me something readable even when it refuses me.

Because a lot of Light novel that gets adapted to anime cut out a lot of content that some thing might not make sense. Case in point for Overlord and Tensura. If Overlord included all the explanations, back stories and other cut content from the novel, it would be Season 8 before we reach where we are now in the anime. A lot of the Isekai genre is from Light novels and part of why people don't like/hate them is because of how shallow the world seems to be, but this is only because the anime cut a lot of content to avoid all the talking and go directly to the action part. (Smartphone anime is pure and utter Garbage, trash, it should never have seen the light of day though).

Accelerator are just too good of a character. Tips for those who want to get into index that works for me: -Just watch any episode in index with Accelerator and ignore touma -Watch a certain scientific accelerator
