so when you were 6, you accidently placed koopa shells in certain x positions and did the red pipe glitch, or did you just accidently do the red pipe glitch?
The exact same thing happened with my brother and I. I clearly remember being sucked up by the red pipe. I've occasionally tried seeing if anyone else found it, but I always searched for "black pipe glitch" and variations of that. I had forgotten that there was red on it as well. There are other places this pipe can pop up.
DaEasyGamer Gaming: Not really, it his basically how game code works placing the koopas to match the in-game code to activated the start of the princess room, during normal game play if you do that there will be no way for the game to read does code, by doing this before going to uninteaded area truth a glitch, hitting the note block in the unitended area will cause the game to read does X cordinated of koopa shell as code. this his why that happen, when you go in the unitended area the note block that appears there actually exist in the actually real part of the level, in the real part of the level it will not crash because when it add plus 15(0F) to found his sprite for bouncing animation, there his not problem, however when you are in the unitended are that note block gets incorrectly place in the read only memory of the game, 9C61 but his search for his bounce sprite his still plus 0F(15) so it will look in 9C70 which his still in Read only, and that sprite his not there, and it also tell the game to write something 9C70 which it his still Read only so writting something to read only is impossible for the machine, and the attempt of the machine to do that redirected to 80, and then 81(the 80 and 81, does not equal 80 or 81, they actually equal to bigger number since the united goes from 0 to F) of the Ram, and then it will go all the way to 93 where the Instruction you put in with the shell, 94 and 95 will not exist since they are fused as an instruction with 93 Ram(93 does not equal 93, because of the unit goes from 0 to F).
The thing I love about terminal montage is his ability to take things like this and bring them to life and absolutely insane ways, his animation truly captures the absolute chaos of the entire game world breaking apart
I tried it within 24 tries (without knowledge on how to do it correctly) and suceeded. After that, it only took me 2 tries to do it correctly again and again.
Basically what's happening is the game is trying to execute a value that doesn't exist when you go in that fake pipe so it's gets all confused... Thus taking you to the last value located in it's memory, the ending

It's all about the position of the koopa shells that take u do a certain location, it's called data modifying. As u can see he places the koopas on certains locations.
i accidentally did someone like this just today on world 5-5. i don’t remember what i really did, but i had a shell and i was in an area with 3 pipes covered with blocks. i jumped down from the third pipe, shell in hand and i went down the same red pipe and it made me go in a room with a big block with a tanooki suit in it

This is true event that happend to me. I was stuck in one of the stages at world 2 between pipe and blocks couldn't reach the pipe so I can finish the stage, suddenly this red pipe appears and I went in and came out at the finish area of the stage. I was like what the heck was that. I was a little kid by the time in the 90s.
I played this heavily as a kid. I had this glitch happen to me while playing. Never knew what caused it or why it happen. It was a pure accident it happened. I never duplicated that result again. I remember playing it a lot g time and I was on a warpless run all the way through the game it glitched on me here.
P.S. I am 9 and watched this over and over again and I couldn't resist anymore. I did this successfully but in an easier version somehow. You just have to hit the three ?-blocks and run to the left and keep jumping and hit down at the longer pipe. Done successfully, you should just go through the red pipe. (For Nintendo Switch and won't warp you to the castle).
@@hudsonwright7505 The red pipe glitch is there, regardless of any variables you decide to set in place (ie for you the coin blocks). The steps needed to reach the princess are necessary as they read as different bits of information for the game to glitch into the ending.
i did exacly what you did but when i got to the part where you click A it sent me to the kings place where i give him back the wand in world 7 with a mario in a black suit and 99 lives and then it crashed lmao
probably on accident and continuous efforts to recreate it. it's also possible it's accessable from the game code considering it's caused by a value the game can't find.
+viperasp: There his a mush easier set-up, it was not me who found the easier set-up, but I did found a way to make it work more consistently, make sure to flick the paratroopa when his feat are align with the first lip of the pipe the bottom lip of the pipe, the paratroopa must be moving upward, and then place it in the correct position, and if you take the pipe on the right walk off to the right to dispond the shell, since it his a floor shell. ua-cam.com/video/701sO-YxhGM/v-deo.html And that consistency method only works for, if run on machine with High Memory capacity, Exemple: WiiU virtual console, Wii Virtual console, on a computer, and/or labtop, and Nes mini classic edition.

I sometimes wonder if these levels where built in a similar way you do in mario maker. like those glitched up graphics on the bottom of the stage just appear to be assets left on the canvas that the level designer didn't use, which included somehow a warp zone to the end of the game, I'm sure they didn't erase any of it because they figured no one could see any of it.

So while it transition, the address to Peach JSR:8F,E3(20,8F,E3)or(32,143,227) are not in used. So if it freeze on the Princess, and the Room does not light up, it froze on the 8, of the 8F, since the rest of the address where taken. In address 81 there his one important value to make sure the end code does not change, there his the address IGN $12, that his control by the Y position of the placement of the shell in slot 5, the correct Y position change depending on the method your using, so that way it will guarantee no change or minor change to your code, for Exemple the one in slot 4 that his put in Xposition E3, that his one instruction in front, while E2 his the Exact instruction, and E1 his once instruction behind. The only problem with this if you put the shell in E2, Mario X position cannot be the same as putting it in E3, and the same goes for E1, Mario X position cannot be the same as what you did for E3, and E2. the placement in slot 5 is the only exeption to this, it can go in Xposition 8E, or 8D, but Mario X position got to stay the same as if the shell was place in Xposition E3, as well as that shells Y position.
+Vipertech: I know the reason now, your missplace placement of slot 3 worked, you delayed yourself too mush after placing it, so the koopa started to shake before it de-spond. that happens to me also using a different placement for slot 3.
@@DiamondBFIC: It does work on the WiiU version as long as it his the NA Version, NA means North America, Would also work on Europe WiiU since they no longer have to used 50hz Europe WiiU version would used the NA version of Super mario bros.3 they are not using the pal verison anymore starting with the 3DS, and make sure it his the NES version not the GBA version called Super mario advance 4. I have no idea how you got the idea that it does not work, when I was just explaining the reason why sometimes it does not work. If you want to speed-run with that category, you cannot used WiiVC, WiiUVC 3DSVC and NEW 3DS VC the glitch work in all of does but the reason it his banned compare to the actual NES console situation where it would crash in the NES console, would make the glitch work in Virtual console mention above.
Recently on my mini nes i found a another red pipe and he teleported me on a really glitchy world and im pretty sure im the only one who found it because Its so hard to go to the spot where was the red pipe (lucky for me on mini nes their is save so i can restart easily)

zejoant bi think it has to do with the fact that the snes but also the gba has waay more ram & cpu power then the nes ,so the cpu & ram of both systems can never overflow when you try this pipe glitch on those systems i guess.

It's not fake, Mario entered the pipe from the wrong direction, which doesn't have an exit, thus the fame trying to find one.
It is *significantly* more complicated than this. This isn't accurate at all.

Yeah, hold down like you would going down a pipe. It's a pixel corner where it's properties would be the pipe you're jumping into the side to.

It's there regardless, but all that stuff I had to do before entering the red pipe was necessary to get the glitch ending.
