@luketheduke5521 EC’s were through the roof. Essay and recommendations. Professional experience etc. got in as a provisional student for the first semester.
@@samuraisaxon6800 dope congratsss, what r some of the professional experiences that would be a good idea for me , im a junior and had helped out with a state senator here and there but that’s it as far as i’ve gotten besides co founding the chess club, being in (and soon to have leadership role) in my schools Junior statesman association , 3 year varsity letterman baseball player, orchestra concert master , congressional award recipient, i want to get more work experience besides my part time job that’s irrelevant with the field i want to major in , i also got 1120 on psat last so i don’t think i’ll hit the 1300 mark for SAT in spring im looking for anything i can do lmk some of the ECs that you think might help me out
Thanks
Great I discovered this video I’m enrolling now I believe the legendary actress activist attended pearl bailey
I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
What classes in high school (besides foreign languages) would you recommend one to take junior and senior year to major in international relations?
Classes about political science, government, and law are also good choices. :)
@@jasonpatel13 Okay thanks for your help!
Can you do University of Florida next please?
Thanks for the request!
Could you please do same Video for University of Virginia?
Thanks for the suggestion!
Would becoming the president of a religious after school club stand out for me as a Muslim girl trying to get into Georgetown collage? Would that give me an advantage?
It's definitely better than not taking on a leadership position. :) The real question is what would you be doing with the time if you don't become the president of a religious club? That will help you determine if it's a good choice for you or not.
@@jasonpatel13 in the mean time, I will be attending the after school club meetings that they host every other Tuesday and every Friday. I will also be doing community service hours in my free time and keep up with my academics. If I do not become president, I will for sure still be a leader in the group and will continue to keep up with my high academic levels. 🙂
Do you have any other leadership as part of your ECs?
@@jasonpatel13No, I’m trying to discover some new things that I’m interested in. I don’t know where to start though, I’m going to speak to my councillor about this.
If you don't have any leadership in your ECs, you should definitely work on getting some.
Good luck!
First, you have to be rich and coming from a top tier or an elite family.
Not necessarily. :) According to the university itself, only 9% of students are legacies.
Do they look at weighted gpa? My goal is to get a 4.5, do you think they would consider me with that as my gpa?
Most schools look at both, to some degree. The weighted GPA shows them your capacity to do well at college-level courses, but the unweighted is a demonstration of your capacity for consistent achievement. Students with a 3.9/4.2 unweighted/weighted GPA tend to do better than students with a higher gap between the two, say 3.5/4.5.
@Transizion Okay, thank you! I have a 4.0 currently, but I still have a few more years of high school, Georgetown is my dream school 🤞🏻
Not tooo liberal I hope
As with many things on the liberal/conservative spectrum, it really depends where you stand. :)
