I personally am not fond of her, mostly because she is difficult AF in Hyrule Warriors. That’s not to say I don’t like her. I really do like her design.
For me I think Agitha might be an illegitimate child of the king it would make sense for why she was hidden from the eye of the public and considers herself a princess.
one thing that I love about Agitha the most is how she’s never scared of wolf link whenever he approached her outside south of castle town. she would even call him puppy and ask if he wants to play. she’s precious in her own way
I’m glad I’m not the only one who honestly finds that kinda cool the first time I ran into her as wolf link was by accident and she just happily greeted me I honestly was surprised
> Zelda dies during Zant's assault on the castle > Immediately, her powers get transferred to Agitha > cut to an army of Triforce-powered giant golden insects steamrolling the Twili > "Li'l stag beetle, li'l stag beetle, your spiky pinchers are so sharp! They must feel so good... "
I'd love to see Zant and Ganon's reaction to that "What? Are those bugs? It won't be a problem they're just bugs- WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO THE SHADOW BEASTS WHAT IS THIS HOW DO WE FIGHT BUGS"
maybe she is part of the royal family but is the daughter of a mistress that’s why she’s not allowed to live in the castle with the rest of the royal family but kept nearby in castle town 🧐
Variant to that idea: We know Beedle exists at the start of the timeline in Skyward Sword and he's around at the current end of the timeline in Breath of the Wild. While we see a Beedle in the Adult path in Windwaker and it's sequels, we don't see him in the Downfall or Child Eras. Therefore, what if it was not the King and a Mistress, but the Queen falling for a silver-tongued bug-loving merchant, the descendant of... Strich! Stritch is in the Bug purchasing trade, and as a graduate of the Knight Academy that puts his bloodline in a position of nobility with direct access to the Royal Family throughout the ages. We know Strich has a tender-side and so it follows that his descendant would set his daughter up in a place where she could be happy while he was in the palace doing courtisan things.
Twilight Princess is one of the Zelda games with most mysteries, the game came out in 2006 and today in 2021 I still find things to make theories about
I've always thought that the Kokiri dying after leaving the forest thing was more of a cautionary tale. More "you won't be under my protection and could be killed" rather than "leaving the forest will trigger your death".
My head cannon was always that the deku tree used the fairies to keep the Kokiri their human forms and that without the deku tree commanding the fairies to remain the fairies go about their lives leaving the kokiri behind. Being deserted by their fairies and with the deku being too young the kokiri spread and explore while they slowly turned into the koroks and disappeared from most peoples sight (except link).
I have always thought this might be the case as well. As a princess, even of bugs....this title indicates a formal rank. Zelda as an older sister makes a ton of sense. Agatha as the little sister. The rare insurance policy kid against Ganon before the parents die. (As we don't ever see the King and Queen). Never to be queen...she lives in a house that is only affordable by the royal family. But, because she isn't the powerful one like Zelda, she lives in luxury and is probably checked in on by royal guard and chefs and maids. Summoned when needed. Again...because of the obsession with bugs. We are on the same page.
As an autistic person myself, Agatha’s always struck me as being one of us. Her special interest is obvious, and she really seems to operate on a similar wavelength that’s considered off by alistics. It’s really nice to think she might be a pleasant bit of representation for us in the series.
I'm autistic too, actually. Though I've never considered that. I can see where you're coming from now though. Although, sometimes the things she says when bringing bugs to her come off as almost... fetishy. Like wanting to bathe in snail slime or how a stag beetles sharp pincers must feel good. To me this suggests something a bit screwy upstairs, but ultimately harmless. Like that one really fucking weird relative that just seems happy in their harmless views of the world, so you just accept it despite it not being normal. To me, Agitha is weird, but I do like her. I wish they'd dive deeper into her though. She's such a fascinating character to just leave unexplained. It's almost like she was created specifically for theory crafting. If so, well-played Nintendo. If not, well... still well-played. They made a likeable character shrouded in unanswered questions that you're curious enough to think about. No matter their intent, I like the end result.
Fun take on the younger princess theory: Maybe this little house of hers is a clubhouse. There could be a hidden passage somewhere that Link wouldn't find or know about. She goes in through there to play to her hearts content. sure it's not the most convenient (explaining the bed) but maybe the king is scared of bugs but she kept playing with them. This would probably mean that her "clubhouse" was actually an Escape House. In the case of an emergency, there was an old passage to guide the royal family to so they can buy themselves time. Perhaps the king was a bit cocky and thought "we won't ever need this. no one would dare attack! You may have the escape house, Agitha. Do as you please." Thus Agitha's Castle. Maybe that's why people are so fascinated by her. Which begs the question of why she doesn't lock that dang door?
She also talks about how pleasant the pincers of a stag beetle must feel. No one thinks she's creepy just because she "likes bugs," it's the very uncomfortable, possibly kinky implications behind everything she says. It's not very 'E for Everyone' maybe that's why the HD version was bumped up to Teen?
Agitha just reminded me of the side quest in BOTW, you get in South Akkala Stable; the little girl that asks for the 3 different types of Dragon Flies! Great video!
About Zelda having siblings... It has precedent. Zelda 1 &2:s plot involves Zelda's Brother having betrayed Hyrule for power only for him to be slain by Ganon and the after affects. So yes, we know Zelda has siblings, one of them set the stage for the series as whole!
There actually is a reference to the Kokiri in TP. The actual race doesn't show up but their insignia is all over the Forest Temple on every door, with implication being that they lived there after OOT, and probably used the Gail Boomerang.
I would have guessed that if Agitha is Zelda's little sister, she could have been out of the castle when zant attacked (probs looking for bugs). then she returns, the knights & aids to the royal family find her, and realize they have to keep her secret now that the royal family is like dead & Zelda is held captive. Agitha would have been a target too. So they hid her in the corner of castle town where she's essentially in a witness protection program. Maybe Agitha isn't even her real name o_O
That was my first thought too. Or even that the parents were rich enough to own their own place away from all the bugs and that was just "Agitha's Castle", dedicated to her.
What if Agatha is rich from selling bugs to other bug lovers. These aren't just ordinary bugs there shiny bugs like jewels. That's might be why she asks for a male and female so she could make more.
when you mentioned that she was obsessed with bugs I immediately thought „she’s autistic!“. I think her being autistic would also fit in with the theory that she is a member of the royal family. She’s autistic so neurotypical people see her being weird, therefore the royal family moved her out of the spotlight.
I heard a theory awhile ago that the kokiri die from leaving the forest because the forest magic no longer prevents them from aging. So leaving the forest doesn't directly kill them, they just aren't immortal anymore and thus die that way
Well we haven't seen Kokiri since OOT. In me head, the Kokiri only took on that child form to make Link feel more at home during his stay in the Forest. It seems the Korok form is the most stable/in tune with the forest..... I guess?
@@giothegeodude4197 Saria didn't know Link wasn't a Kokiri... at least she wasn't SURE. I think Koroks and skull kids are the same thing. Kokiri shedding their human disguises.
@@Ryanowning Yes, I know. I'm not asserting that Kokiri become Koroks, just that Kokiri becoming Skull Kids and Kokiri becoming Koroks is the same process and the same result.
I had the impression that Agitha was somehow related to the owner of the super expensive shop in the main square. That would mean that when Malo takes over, she loses her income lol
I believe that the reason that the kokiris never aged was because the Deku Tree put a spell on them to keep their youth, when the Deku Tree died so did the spell, so the Kokiris knowing not only the protection spell from the Deku Tree was gone, but also their eternal youth is also gone they just decided to leave and move into castle town and once they grew up they interbreed with the Hylians and after many years the descendant of the Kokiris just became Hylians and they lost all knowledge of their past and any knowledge about the Deku Tree. Years later in Twilight Princess, Kokiri Forest was abandoned and eventually Hylians found Kokiri Forest and colonized it renaming it Ordon Village and we later see the forest temple which is actually the remains of the Deceased Deku Tree all abandoned taken over by nature and even animals like monkeys (no I don’t think the Kokiri’s became monkeys, that’s just stupid). I think the farmer named Fado is actually a descendant of a Kokiri with the same name. Agatha I believe is also a descendant of the Kokiri who somehow is also part of the Royal family, maybe a ancestor of her married into the Royal Family
@@Juanma_Cardona0725 I can actually see that being the case even without the Deku Tree dying. Since the Kokiri guarding the exit says that Kokiri who leave the forest die (or never return?). I always thought it's because they would start aging like a normal person and not just drop dead at the other end of the bridge.
@@RiskyStrats that’s exactly what I think, I think they start aging like a normal person, so when they left they ended up in castle town and they just interbreed with Hylians and the history and knowledge of the Kokiri was lost, that’s why no one remembers the Deku Tree on Twilight Princess and why the Forest Temple (which is clearly the old Deku Tree) is dacayed and full of wild life
i love that the world of zelda gives us these things that have no explanation and just serve as a source of whimsy. i think people who enjoy zelda are people who also enjoy puzzles, we like to find solutions and answers. i think giving us such an ambiguous character triggers our desire to find answers even though there are none, and its like a little nugget of engagement for us in the world itself
It's also possible that Zelda herself hid Agitha away to protect her instead of her just being hidden bc they were ashamed. After all why would they indulge her so much if they were ashamed of her hobby/obsession? Maybe Zelda let her sister do insect studies with her blessing to keep her happy and safe from being targeted by assassins or just otherwise bothered with royal duties. Isn't the lady who lives right next to Agitha the one that looks just like a Sheikah too? Secret nursemaid/bodyguard anyone...?
Well it's a tradition to name the eldest daughter Zelda in the royal family so they couldn't really have two zelda's walking around lol it's common like the name Link is according to Lore
Holy moly, these theories are awesome! The are both believable as well. I think that, if Agitha is a kokiri, the reason she doesn't have a fairy is because there doesn't appear to be a Great Deku Tree during the events of Twilight Princess. Doesn't the Great Deku Tree have to assign a fairy to each kokiri? if there isn't a great deku tree, there isn't anyone to assign fairies to the kokiri. The funny thing is, she reminds me of that one blonde kokiri girl in OoT........................possibly the same person?!?!?! Probably not, but who knows?
Maybe that’s the real reason she is looking for the golden bugs. they remind her of fairies (or the golden bugs of the deku tree) and think link might accidentally bring her a fairy for her.
Agitha's fashion isn't royal gothic. While lolita fashion began as a substyle of goth, it branched out into other colours and motifs that differentiated it as its own unique fashion style. Agitha wears a substyle called sweet lolita, and old school style too since it matches what was popular during the game's release. It would've probably been quite costumey by 2006 standards, but thanks to the rise of OTT lolita, it would fit in quite nicely with today's scene as there are still people who appreciate the old school style.
I have loved Agitha since the moment I met her in my first playthrough of Twilight Princess. I think she is one of the most interesting NPC's we get to meet in the series.
I'd say, if Agitha was a member of the royal family maybe a little more removed than a direct descendant. Like her and Zelda shared a grandmother. This queen had 2 children and the one who didn't inherit the throne lived in castle town. This would give them the funding of the royal family and making sure their children were provided for (especially encase something happened to the royal family and Hyrule needed to continue it's royal line). Zelda 2 is I think the only game that mentions Zelda having a sibling (brother).
I recently fell down a UA-cam rabbit hole looking at upscale homes, and one of my absolute favorite was this town home in NYC that had a literal garden with a cherry blossom tree in the living room, definitely gives me vibes from Agatha’s home
Maybe she’s a descendant of the Link from Ocarina of Time. He sleeps in a tree and grew up with fairies, that would probably get passed down to his descendants.
*I personally think that Agitha is a Kokiri and that she simply wasn't able to get a fairy (as we see that the Great Deku Tree is the one who assigned Navi to Link, and could very well be the one who gives other Kokiri their fairies) We don't see the Great Deku Tree in Twilight Princess, so it's very possible imo that Agitha simply never met him and never got a fairy. *Her obsession with specifically golden bugs and butterflies (as seen from her pinned butterflies upstairs) would therefore be linked to her deep down feeling the NEED for a fairy. (Plus, she wears those butterfly wings like fairy wings...) *Also, you didn't mention this, but all the citizens who are "references" to other races in Zelda (we don't know if they're actually related to them or not, but the Fortune Teller being able to actually... fortune tell suggests they may be) have the three colored dots on their cheeks. IF these citizens are indeed part or entirely the race they reference, it's very strong evidence for Agitha being of the Kokiri.
One thing I love about her: she's not afraid of you in your wolf form. That girl isn't scared of anything. ♥ I will say in regards to the Kokiri dying if they left the woods from OoT, I always felt it was more a vague warning. I mean, they have a sword locked away where none of them can find it and they sell a single wooden shield in the shop showing how they know next to nothing about combat. I think it meant if they left, they would get killed by *something*, but the Deku Tree possibly made it vague to prevent any from seeking to leave the woods. Not sure though as there is still the Lost Woods as well. I do love all of the theories regardless. A very well put together piece!
Well, maybe she lost her parents and that traumatized her into dreaming that she's a princess? Her obsession with bugs may have started young, her parents worked a lot (hence the large amount of legacy) and had little care about her, she spent most of her time with bugs and books, or something like that? Maybe, just maybe, as that's the first thing that came to me about her origin story...
I thought she was the child of the guy who got turned to gold. Riches a plenty(his curse is from his obsession). Coupled with the fact that it could be an extension or guest house.
There is one thing you missed , doesn't change much. Agitha is a type of introvert that is uncomfortable with major social functions. Feeling at home with bugs because they make her feel less weird. Even loving them for their weirdness , without ever really knowing why.
I just always assumed she was some Hylian noble's daughter who was hidden away for the same reasons you mentioned in the video. Either that, or she's got so much money because it's her noble parents' life insurance and being 10, she's actually squandering it a bit by paying for bugs with it. Or maybe she's the daughter of a well-respected and very well-paid entomologist.
I have my own theory. Her parents were obscenely wealthy (possibly related to Jovani?), ranked nobles of Castle Town with connections to the Royal Family, but they died before the events of the game. Her father was an entomologist in his free time, and her mother was a botanist of some sort. They had their garden and bugs in their living room because there's not much space in that alleyway for a garden or even a front yard. Jovani's house and the fairgrounds are the only portions in town with grass, (that I can think of atm) implying that one has to be VERY wealthy or connected to royalty to have a yard/garden. ...And maybe she calls herself 'Princess' because that's what her father/mother called her? Or she sees herself as the ruler of all bugs, practically stating as much in-game when she introduces herself-"You have an audience with Princess Agitha of the Bug Kingdom." (I paraphrased, btw) That's another theory right there! Could Jovani be a nobleman or a descendant of one? He has a secret underground passage directly to the castle in his house! That's pretty sus.
If you look closely, you'll see that the Kokiri are without their fairies at the Lon Lon Ranch party. Something that I've noticed across all the games is that aside from the occasional pot or clump of grass, fairies are only found in or near water. This makes me think that fairies can't survive for too long without it, unless they have a special mission like Navi, and this is why they fly off after healing you. With that being said, I don't think she is a Kokiri. I don't really think she's a member of the Royal Family either as the Crest of the Royal Family would likely be emblazoned somewhere within (or outside) her house despite the customization to her tastes. For example, there is a banner outside of every house in Ordon Village. Each one has a symbol on it, likely depicting each family's heritage. Link's banner is of particular interest as his bears the Triforce, although whether it is in whole or in part escapes my memory. This further solidifies his descent from the Hero. As for Agitha, the Royal crest is nowhere to be seen. The seemingly endless supply of rupees is not necessarily proof of a connection either. A number of wealthy persons have appeared throughout the games, and two of them have a secret. Both involve a sidequest connected to freeing them from a curse. The secret is that once freed, you can continuously get 200 rupees per visit from them for the rest of the game. One is the family in the House of Skulltula in Ocarina of Time, and the other is Jovani from Twilight Princess. Inside Jovani's house there are mountains of gold and gems. Due to his curse, he himself appears to be made of gold when you first meet him. His wealth however does have an origin, which is why he was cursed. Her wealth is likely inherited, but her parents are indeed a mystery. The only certain thing is that they do not live with her as her home only has one bed.
I think that Agitha being a literal member of the Hyrule royal family makes a lot of sense, and is a very credible theory. Probably like you said, because of her eccentric personality and hobby, and the fact that as the youngest, she was probably not going to inherit the throne. She was allowed to live by herself on a mansion, with a allowance on the six figures, in order to keep her away from the public eye.
I never knew there was a theory out there that Agitha was a Kokiri? How interesting! Kind of bummed that TP didn't have either Kokiri or deku scrubs in it(all we got were those nasty killer babas). Granted I'm with you on her being apart of the royal family. I think in the second Zelda game(not 100% sure which one) Princess Zelda did have a younger brother so it's completely possible for any Zelda to have siblings. On a side note only Agitha and Princess Zelda are the only Hylians that aren't afraid of Wolf Link. Could be that instead of just appearing so carefree and trusting, Agitha could have the ability to sense that he wasn't going to harm her like Zelda could due to her powers. I mean if King Daphne could possess powers in Wind Waker and BotW then a sibling of Zelda might be able to as well.
5:29 most fairy tales in real life were made up to scare people, for instance red riding hood where she gets eaten. The message was not to talk to strangers
1 correction is that yes some Zeldas do have siblings the "legend" of Zelda story in Zelda 2 clearly stated the story of her having a brother who wanted to triforce for himself & his wizard tortured her only when she refused to talk the wizard died putting her under a spell & the brother was guilt stricken over what he did, so he declared that there would always be a Zelda in the royal family. 2nd of all: My own head canon theory is that Agitha is actually an orphan from a rich noble house who knows how to take care of herself. She comes from a wealthy family so she obviously has cash to spare & maybe takes opportunities to make some small rubies on the side so as not to tap her funds dry. Possibly having some secret adult allies who are letting her live alone because her family set her up nicely & they're weary of anyone who wants to adopt her because of her wealth. Being told that she's a princess with magical powers to talk to bugs...that sounds like something her loving parents told her growing up & her love for bugs is a small connection to the family that she lost.
I really like the idea of Agatha being a kokiri and her own castle being some kind of attempt to replicate the environment in the forest. But I'm honestly more a fan of the theory of the moneys being the kokirirs.
If people think Agitha is weird/creepy for liking bugs... *Clearly didn't grow up with Pokémon. Satoshi Tajiri, the creator of Pokémon, grew up collecting bugs in his mother's garden.*
I thinks that she's just part of a noble family. There could be some with enough money to buy a house for their bug-obsessed daughter. Maybe, in her quest to find golden bugs, she stumbled upon Jovani's stash & took some of it to finance her collection? …Maybe that's how Gengle the cat got the idea to just give away the money?
agitha is more likely to be related to jovani than to be a royal family member or a kokiri. They are both super rich and have collection quests attached to them. im not saying they are a father daughter combo but possibly a brother or uncle. I just dont see her being actual royalty just based on how she acts, if she was and was trying to hide it she did a horrible job. as for her being a kokiri it would be impossible just like you said because she would have died leaving the forest. there are no other instances of any kokiri leaving the forest except for the cutscene at the end of Oot. or you could go even farther and say that shes just a weird orphan that collects bugs. orphans dont seem to be out of place in this timeline
Counter argument against her not having a fairy meaning she isn't a Kokiri: There's no sign of either Deku Tree. Why would she be assigned a fairy, if she never got the chance to?
Hyrule Gamer, I think Agitha might be the Fortune Teller's daughter! Both live in Castle Town. The fortune teller probably makes lots of money from people looking to find love, etc. so she could be the reason behind why Agitha lives in a two story house. Both of them have odd styles. And last but not least, both Agitha and Fortune Teller Fanadi have the same under-eye markings!! (She could also be Telma's daughter or sibling)
Agitha is my favorite Zelda character -- she's just adorable and I love how passionate she is about her special interest. I'm so glad you made a video about her :)
tbh i think she's an aristocrat, so wouldn't be abnormal to be alone, clothes and house would still be on the fancier end. As a Scott you should know most of the aristocracy is related to royalty one way or another. But the bug princess claim I think is just that a self proclamation of a child enamoured by insectoids. most kids proclaim they're the king, queen or princess of something because "they're the best and they love it"
I wonder if Agitha has any relation to the rich family of the Skulltula House in Kakariko Village in OoT. Both have connotations to bugs and seemingly endless piles of money so it could be a possibility?
I suppose it's possible that the royal family sort of... disowned her for her quirks, but I can't see someone like Zelda being like that, to accept that her own sibling be shunned away. I know Zelda isn't immune to having siblings, but it is rare. The only other one was that brother I believe, who put Zelda into a deep sleep. I feel that, for the most part, Zelda is an only child, but maybe that's just me and thinking "well if there are siblings, where are they?" Maybe Nintendo doesn't want siblings in their game because it then takes away from Zelda as the main royal line, AND role as princess, and then eventually queen. I could defo see her as a Kokori, and while she doesn't seem to have a fairy... well, she IS living in Castle Town, so already, she isn't following the rules of what a Kokori is "supposed" to be. Fairies are afterall pure beings, and probably don't like outsiders too much, favouring to live in forests or caves.
Or she could be from an aristocratic family who's terrified of her live bug collection so she lives in a separate home from them. Rich people tend to be eccentric.
It also was not unusual for royal families in real history to hide away some children so that the bloodline wasn't completely destroyed with assassins or coups. She also has blonde hair and blue eyes like Zelda (both of which are recessive traits in real life, meaning rarer)
My first impression about Agitha was that she was a unique kind of great fairy. We don’t see any other great fairies in the game. The windows in her house are lit up seemingly magically which reminds me of the great fairy locations in wind waker, and all of Link’s interactions with her revolve around rupees, similar to other great fairies. Plus in minish cap all three great fairies are associated with a type of bug. They’re called the great butterfly, dragonfly, and mayfly fairies. Granting Link a bigger wallet is also something traditionally done by great fairies at the time Twilight Princess was released. Aside from that I don’t really see any reason why she needs to be part of the royal family of hyrule. She could just be the daughter of a noble or even a political hostage from another country sent to live in castle town as a sort of endurance of peace.
@@Adam-mt1bv Not really. Both the Kokiri and the Korok are Forest Spirits. The Korok are based off the Kodama from Princess Mononoke, tree spirits who reside in a forest and are a sign that said forest is healthy, while the Kokiri are based off the Kodama from Japanese Mythology who were tree spirits who are rarely seen but can be heard, though when seen, from a distance appear to be a ball of light, but up close take on a humanoid appearance (sound familiar?). Basically, both the Kokiri and the Korok are based off of the Kodama. So it makes sense that the Kokiri become the Korok. Yes, there is a theory that the Monkeys in Twilight Princess as they reside in that game's the Forest with the Kokiri symbol everywhere as well as possessing Kokiri symbol tattoos on their shoulders, the another explanation is that the Hero of Twilight never notices them as other races can completely not be unaware of their presence even when walking just a foot past them even if the Korok is 7 foot tall, or perhaps they went deeper into the Forest where the Hero of Twilight does not transverse or both.
I don't think we'll ever find out her true origin since she is a side quest. I won't debate your latter either because in theory it's possible. And there was a Zelda who had a sibling in Zelda II. Thumbs up as always.
Well you know one thing I truly know about her is that she's Amy Rose's 🌹 Nintendo Counterpart. Amy is even in Sonic Unleashed. Which is Sonic's version of Twilight Princess.
I think she's an orphan. Her parents might have been a brother or sister of the Royals and they died. Or she is the daughter of a dead Royal Knight. Perhaps the parents were killed, but in order to honor the sacrifice, the Royals put her up in a nearby house and took care of her. I have no evidence of this. If she was Zelda's little sister, they would have hidden her in the castle. Castles are huge and they could have restricted her access to the outside as well as visitors coming in. Putting her outside in her own house would open them to embarrassment. Instead, she wanders about the grounds doing whatever she wants. As far as her being a real princess: what little girl DIDN'T pretend to be a princess? My daughters did.
I figured her parents were just snobby rich folks who wanted her to persue her interests to keep her distracted and out of their collective hair, but didn't want a bug-infested home, so they bought an extra home just for her and treat it like "Agitha's Room". The extra rupees are just her allowance, also given to her to keep her quiet and content.
Agitha is my favorite NPC of any Zelda game she's literally so cute and I really love bugs and her outfit. She's a whole vibe. Also, a lot of people think it's useless to have her give you rupees and /then/ give you an upgraded wallet (which like.. yeah), but you're supposed to donate it to the dude at the entrance of castle town (from the East for the Wii version and the West for every other version), who will then eventually give you a heart container.
I found it odd that a parent-less child could have a fancy place in the main hub. I get why someone would come to the conclusion she's of royal descent. Especially with those pointed ears and bright golden hair. But, what if she's a child of say a royal advisor? I say this because I never found anything in her place to suggest she was connected to the royal family. Other than her immense and mysterious source of wealth. There's no crests. No secret triforce symbols. Even the architecture of her place is dissimilar to the castle.
⚠ I MEANT to say 100 years, not 10. Oops. Theory still applies. Just means the timeframe of the Kokiri disappearing takes longer. ⚠

True that!
Agitha must be super rich to have all those empty bottles! Such a rare and valuable item in the Legend of Zelda series!
True that xD
the beavers from majoras mask would go insane if they saw the amount of empty bottles in there.
@@ven902 That would explain a lot.

I always thought she was Zelda’s younger sister as soon as I met her the first time.
Oh nice xD
It’s really nice to think she might be a pleasant bit of representation for us in the series.
wait i love that
Agreed.
As someone with autism, I realized Agitha might have it in some form and I've been scrolling for a bit looking for a comment like this
I'm autistic too, actually.
I also think she's a scientist in the end, as all the books in her castle attest to me - which might come from her "autistic" obsession with bugs.
Hehe! Her being Zelda's younger sister also helps validate her presence and magic in Hyrule Warriors!
True, I guess haha

Liking bugs isn't what makes her creepy, it's what she says about them.
like wanting to take a bath in some snail slime:(
She also talks about how pleasant the pincers of a stag beetle must feel.
It's not possible that TP takes place ten years after OOT because the Hero of Twilight is the Hero of Time's descendant.
yeah and even if he somehow /wasn't/ his body was way too decayed to have died less than ten years ago
It takes place at least 150 years after OoT
I heard it was a century later, about 100 years. Seems enough time to me.
He corrected himself in his own comment above us.
Pinned comment 👌
"Zelda doesn't have siblings..."
"SAYS WHO?!"
That caught me off guard lol! Link had a sister before, so why not Zelda
In an older Zelda game Zelda has a brother
In "Adventure of Link" zelda has a broder.
Yeah that was my thought too
if she is a royal that actually makes scence keep the remaining royal member safe in case she really is the last one
I always figured she was the daughter of a rich family, possibly orphaned and got all the inheritance
Maybe tbh
I was today years old when I found out that Agitha's house has two floors.

@@kendrajade6688 The official lore actually explicitly states that Kokiri became Koroks.
@@Ryanowning Yes, I know. I'm not asserting that Kokiri become Koroks, just that Kokiri becoming Skull Kids and Kokiri becoming Koroks is the same process and the same result.
Maybe she is the next in succession and keeping her secret would protect her from things like Zant's attack from wiping out the bloodline
I had the impression that Agitha was somehow related to the owner of the super expensive shop in the main square. That would mean that when Malo takes over, she loses her income lol
Oooh maybe!
If the kokiri started aging after the Deku Tree's death then they would have aged in oot when Link visits the forest again, seven years later.
I see i see
@@RiskyStrats maybe they start aging as soon as they left the forest, not inside
@@RiskyStrats that’s exactly what I think, I think they start aging like a normal person, so when they left they ended up in castle town and they just interbreed with Hylians and the history and knowledge of the Kokiri was lost, that’s why no one remembers the Deku Tree on Twilight Princess and why the Forest Temple (which is clearly the old Deku Tree) is dacayed and full of wild life
I remember playing this and wondering if she’s somehow related to the Cursed Fabulously Rich Family from OoT that were turned to skulltulas.
Yet another super underrated theory in this comment section!
i love that the world of zelda gives us these things that have no explanation and just serve as a source of whimsy. i think people who enjoy zelda are people who also enjoy puzzles, we like to find solutions and answers. i think giving us such an ambiguous character triggers our desire to find answers even though there are none, and its like a little nugget of engagement for us in the world itself
I've always just thought she was the daughter of a noble family, but this theory is cool !
since when is TP only 10 years after OoT?!
It literally HAS to be at LEAST an entire generation after OoT.
He stated in a comment it was a slip up but the theory still applies
Pinned comment, Skull Kid 👌
It's also possible that Zelda herself hid Agitha away to protect her instead of her just being hidden bc they were ashamed. After all why would they indulge her so much if they were ashamed of her hobby/obsession? Maybe Zelda let her sister do insect studies with her blessing to keep her happy and safe from being targeted by assassins or just otherwise bothered with royal duties. Isn't the lady who lives right next to Agitha the one that looks just like a Sheikah too? Secret nursemaid/bodyguard anyone...?
I think Agitha is a royal family member, but they just didn't want two girl siblings because one of them is zelda.
Oh maybe
Glad you enjoyed :D
Maybe that’s the real reason she is looking for the golden bugs. they remind her of fairies (or the golden bugs of the deku tree) and think link might accidentally bring her a fairy for her.
@@henrylandau2331 Possibly! I am becoming more and more convinced that she is a kokiri.
Sorry I am a not a fashion expert lol, I went off a quote from a Twilight Princess book xD
I was literally going to look up a t.p. Agatha theory right before I checked my subscriptions and this was here.

It’s been Agatha all along!
I am singing this since he told me what the video will be about lol. 😂
I always just figured she was the only child of a wealthy merchant, explaining why her parents aren't around but she still has a lot of funding.
Twilight Princess is my fav Zelda game and I'm always so happy when you do videos on it.
(Plus, she wears those butterfly wings like fairy wings...)
*Also, you didn't mention this, but all the citizens who are "references" to other races in Zelda (we don't know if they're actually related to them or not, but the Fortune Teller being able to actually... fortune tell suggests they may be) have the three colored dots on their cheeks.
Coupled with the fact that it could be an extension or guest house.
but they aren't even on the same street.
My theory is that she's some sort of fairy or other higher power, given her seemingly supernatural bug-related powers in both TP & Warriors.
People can’t say Zelda doesn’t have a sister cause in Wind Waker Link had a little sister
She's not very inconspicuous if she's meant to be hidden away, only referring to herself as "Princess Agatha."
6:06, maybe the tree is kokiri friendly.
Agitha was always my favorite character. I love this video!!
Or she sees herself as the ruler of all bugs, practically stating as much in-game when she introduces herself-"You have an audience with Princess Agitha of the Bug Kingdom." (I paraphrased, btw)
That's another theory right there!
I love this character!! I've actually been thinking about her. Shes pretty! And, I find her personality fascinating.
She's also fearless. If you approach any other character in wolf form, they freak out. Her reaction is more or less, "Aww, what a cute doggy."
@@Warrior-Of-Virtue that was my actual favorite part! I was happy knowing Link probably felt happy seeing someone unafraid of him for once.

Another possibility is that the Royal family knew something was about to happen and sent her to safety so the Royal bloodline can still carry on
Yeah, down the line one of her descendants could still inherit the powers.
omg YES Agitha is one of my favorite npcs 😭😭😭😭💕
Yeah!

agitha is more likely to be related to jovani than to be a royal family member or a kokiri.
She's probably a direct ancestor of the NPC in OOT who loves bugs
*descendant ;)
If we are calling her a Ancestor then my theory Beedle is a descendant of hers
@@notavailable8201 you are talking about OOT - OOT plays before TP - so she would be a descendant. Easy as that.
This could also explain how Agitha "knows" that Link has bugs!
Agitha is my favorite Zelda character -- she's just adorable and I love how passionate she is about her special interest. I'm so glad you made a video about her :)
This is so interesting! I love talking about twilight princess, my favorite zelda too!!
tbh i think she's an aristocrat, so wouldn't be abnormal to be alone, clothes and house would still be on the fancier end.
“Who’s been stealing all of hyrule’s bugs? It’s been Agitha all along!” I’m disappointed that he didn’t make a WandaVision reference in this video.
Or she could be from an aristocratic family who's terrified of her live bug collection so she lives in a separate home from them. Rich people tend to be eccentric.
Ah I see
Being obsessed with bugs is awesome!!!
It also was not unusual for royal families in real history to hide away some children so that the bloodline wasn't completely destroyed with assassins or coups. She also has blonde hair and blue eyes like Zelda (both of which are recessive traits in real life, meaning rarer)
She's just a descendant of the bug guy from Skyward Sword. They both got blonde hair after all.

I like to believe the kokiri actually became the monkeys in faron woods
Yeah it makes more sense then them becoming tree peoples
I do like that theory
@@Adam-mt1bv Not really.
Both the Kokiri and the Korok are Forest Spirits.
The Korok are based off the Kodama from Princess Mononoke, tree spirits who reside in a forest and are a sign that said forest is healthy,
while the Kokiri are based off the Kodama from Japanese Mythology who were tree spirits who are rarely seen but can be heard, though when seen, from a distance appear to be a ball of light, but up close take on a humanoid appearance (sound familiar?).
"No signs of the Kokiri at all in TP"
Their symbol is all over the forest temple though?
Video 8???: Can't snack, can't drink, coming home from school...
Wait, how is this only 10 years after OoT?
He made a mistake its 100 years after oot
He acknowledged this mistake on the pinned comment.
Ahhh okay I was still watching the video when posted it so didn't see it until refreshing
@@stefanoponce6090 yeah i know
I figured her parents were just snobby rich folks who wanted her to persue her interests to keep her distracted and out of their collective hair, but didn't want a bug-infested home, so they bought an extra home just for her and treat it like "Agitha's Room". The extra rupees are just her allowance, also given to her to keep her quiet and content.
She would make an amazing bug type pokemon trainer
In The Adventure of Link, Zelda do actually have a brother who known only as Prince of Hyrule.
