My problem is having my second foot (the trailing leg) pointed during the leap. No problem with my leading foot pointed. Any tips for having both feet nice and pointed mid-leap?
Hi Maria! Whenever there's a dance workshop, I share the info on Instagram and UA-cam. So, just keep up with those social media accounts and you will be in the know! My IG is @MissAuti
Hello I have been trying to get into dance class for a while but they wont acept me because I dont have like cartwheels or handstand or the splits. But the reason why I want to get in dance class is because I need to learn that there. But instead i just watch your videos and i have my splits and handstand so tysm
Hope you can get into dance class! Also I didn't know students were required to know how to do handstands, cartwheels etc. I can do the splits but other than that I would probably not get into a dance school haha
Maybe that studio isn’t for you because most accept beginners and place them according to their abilities and age those requirements sound like requirements for a competition team my studio has those same requirements and it’s invite only
Hi Miss Auti! I am 16 years old and I very much want to be a broadway actress when I'm older. Is it too late for me to start dance classes? I am a relatively quick learner and I am moderately flexible. I by no means want to be a prima ballerina, but would basic ballet/tap/jazz moves give me a chance?
I would say intermediate level minimum by the time you audition, and get some practice with learning choreography quickly because auditions feel chaotic and the choreographer will teach the routine FAST and move on. They will not stop to go over questions or clarify anything or give you technique tips like a teacher in a dance class would. In professional dance auditions, in addition to technique and performance, every applicant is observed for how quickly they pick up the choreography. My first pro audition gave us 20 minutes to learn a full length routine and audition at the end of the time. The job was a part time job in which we had one 2hr rehearsal per week where we would learn a brand new full routine (including formations, cleaning, and running it through over and over) and then perform it a few days later at the corresponding weekly event. If this is your dream, then I know you'll have the motivation to make it happen 😊 Take some dance classes and start with beginner. Absorb all the dance content you can online and devote a good amount of time to flexibility training and muscle building to help you advance to the intermediate level faster. Ask questions, practice, and always observe safety measures to prevent injuries.
Hi miss Auti I would just like to say I love your videos I really wanna join contemp dance after this whole COVID thing calms down but in the mean time do you think you could choreograph a beginner contemporary dance for the song Touch by Sleeping at last. Thanks hope you had an amazing Christmas!😊✨
i want to do dance so bad, but i’m already 15. is it too late for me to start? i just feel like if i start at this age, i’ll be terrible. any advice Miss Auti?
You’re never too old I was 15 when I started too everyone is bad when they begin but it’s all about practice and in time comes strength and flexibility but the older you are when you begin the strength and flexibility takes longer to gain but dance is not all about that it’s about enjoying it the only time you need really good technique and flexibility is if you want to compete or do it professionally otherwise just enjoy it and number one rule never compare yourself to other dancers use them for motivation to want to get better and with time you will
I was 14 when I started, I thought it was too late but I wanted to give it a try and I am so glad I did. At first it was a bit difficult, especially in ballet (I attend both ballet and modern dance classes), because I live in a small town and there’s only one dance school here and the other girls were way above my level. Now (I’m 16) I can do everything they do, I learnt the splits (I was so inflexible before lol) and most of all I fell in love with dance.
Have you tried asking them? If not try that! And if you have do your best to show them that this isn't just something you want to do now then next month quit. Even though you know you want to do it they as parents will most likely be sceptical.
@@trainwithkendall Okay! My guess is half white half.. filipino? or half white and half mexican? the reason i'm gonna go with mixed is because you look white but also don't? haha i don't know how to explain it
My issue is not so much the prep, but more, how do I make it not look like an X jump lol
So true!
A tip if to 1.strech 2. Do straddle leg lifts 3. Really sit in the straddle 4. Bring that back leg up 5. Make sure to really pop and go high
Stretch !!!

the thing for me is i'm scared to lift my other leg in case i fall so what can i do to help with that?
how do you keep your feet turned out though? my problem is they always turn in in my center and i'm not leaning forwards so it can't be that
are your hips turned out?
Who here knows how to lift both legs up?
i just cant make my legs the same height in the leap
